Yay, we've almost killed 2016!

AND I'm now officially the Chief of Robot Operations at a small startup making something really cool!

(My real job pays more, but the title just can't compete)

As a late Christmas present, my grandma sent my brother and I a 3D printer. Somehow, 2016 doesn't look that bad anymore.

Nice! Gonna make yourself some Shardplate?

We usually cook beans with turkeynecks and sausage over rice with cornbread for our New Year tradition and it's always so great. Instead we cooked a huge pot of gumbo and I'm not complaining one rusting bit about it. It is sooooo good! Rain is starting to slack off so it ll be firework time in a bit.

Earlier, I decided to shoot for 5,000 words by midnight tonight, to give myself a good head start on my resolution of finishing the rough draft of my WIP by December 31st, 2017. I just looked at my word count—5,020! And it's not even 7:15. B)

Good motivation Twy.

Thanks! ^_^

Though, full disclosure: I started writing….two weeks ago, I think? Maybe more? At any rate, I didn't write 5,000 words all in one day.

Still, good motivation. I'm generally too lazy to actually write anything I think about.

And I have decided to leave TV Tropes for good. I changed my password to something I'll never remember and logged out. I cannot handle the egos there, and I'm finished trying. I refuse to be a part of a community that caters to pathetic little people who pounce on innocent mistakes in order to feed their monstrous egos. Leave it to rot, I say.

I feel much better having decided this.

Oh man The Bluff is so cool right now. Fog descended after the rain stopped and the sky is glowing 360 and the air is thundering. Midnight ought to be great!

watching CNN and Brooke Baldwin and Don Lemon are getting hammered in NOLA on live tv lol

I wasn't aware there was a TV Trope community. I just thought the universe updated the site.

Are you going to make your New Years' Resolution not to interact with awful people whenever you can help it? Because I feel like that should be your New Years' Resolution.:P

You have good ideas.

Your resolution should be to pop in more often.:P Though if you're operating under time constraints, no biggie. We just like having you around. :)

I... honestly, I keep losing track of what goes on around here, which makes getting back into the everyday discussions a little difficult. Embarrassing, I know, considering how close to the forum's pulse I used to be, but there it is. I'm pretty badly out of touch.

...I'll try to keep up a little better, and maybe get some RP posts posted. It's been forever since I've done any of those.

Not right now. Phone is dead, and we're about to do the new year's thingy with the sparkling beverages and the loud counting.

I'll photograph it ASAP though. I made it from an old belt.

@Mistrunner THANK YOU FRIEND

Hey! Congrats Bleeder! Welcome to the Tele Club. It's a warm fuzzy feeling sound isn't it? Enjoy yourself. Looking forward to the strap photos

Here is this:

Spoiler

IMG_2882.JPGIMG_2881.JPGIMG_2880.JPG

I got an old leather belt from an artist friend of my mom's and put some holes in it. Will probably rub it down with some kind of oil to keep it supple. It's my favorite strap, like, ever.

Thanks for the enthusiasm, guys!

OH ALSO

I forgot to share this: for Christmas my cousin got me tickets to a Dawes concert in Nashville on April 28---At the Ryman. I'm so pumped for this.

We have a giant new TV.  It's, like, stupidly big.  65".  Twice as big as the old TV.

(We put most of the proceeds from the house sale into investments, since that's where the down payment for the one we live in came from and James is quite sure we will get a better ROI there than in the potential interest savings of putting down a chunk early on the mortgage.  But we kept a bit back for a little celebratory splurge.)

Also, I turn 40 this year so we are going to Hawaii.  :D

Oh, we got one of those. It's ginormous. My dad has been referring to it as the "BATV" or "Big-[chull]-TV".

Congrats on the successful move, Kay! I hope you and James are happy in your new place of dwelling.

Hawai'i! That sounds so fun!
