Marching band performed for the first time today! It was only for parents and stuff, but we went through the whole show and I think we did pretty well. :D

I kind of am, too, but I hear that much of his dialogue is....well....

"My geekness is a-quivering."

Yeah.

He's kind of like Hermione in that way XD

Basically: Sometimes I think Scorpius might be worth reading the play for, but then I remember all of the ridiculousness I'd have to wade through and stop thinking that. Maybe I'll change my mind when all the hype dies down, but that's where I am right now. :/

Yeah.

Hey, don't bring me into this!

Even if I am getting oddly attached to my version of the bad timeline...

Pretty sure that if your version and my version decided to team up, it'd cause the CC version to run screaming into the night.

I think it's just that people had huge expectations from the script (some of them didn't even know it's a script. Like what..) We need to keep in mind that JKR basically isn't the author of the cursed child, it's mainly written by Jack Thorne. If you read it as a normal play script, it's not that bad :)

My expectations were pretty low (no breaking canon, no excess of melodrama, no "Harry does something that should get him fired and it doesn't," no elements that sound like they were lifted from a bad fanfic) and they still weren't met. :/

People have different opinions on this, and mine is that it's not a good story. I've read better stories on Fanfiction.net, stories that had less outlandish plots and better worldbuilding, and if this story does not exceed the quality of a story I read for free on the Internet, then I'm not going to consider it canon.

To be fair you can read Warbreaker for free on the Internet so that's actually a higher Standard than what it sounds like.:P

Brandon Sanderson is the Good Guy Greg of geekdom, though. In the "I'll write an amazing story that I could charge top dollar for and give it to you for free because I'm just that great" way. :P

You can technically find anything for free on the internet...

Though things that are actually free, no using somewhat legally dubious means... that standard is still surprisingly high.

Nightvale, xkcd, rwby, Worm...

Olympics. I is a happy Cajun atm though I prefer the Winter Games over Summer ones. I'm going to be crushed if Phelps doesn't get a gold for his last games. I expected London to be his last. It's going to be a fun 2 weeks

And this year the Olympic committee has banned full-body suits for male swimmers.  We should all take a moment to thank them.
