Darkness Ascendant he/him Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 9. O Canada 10. Lebanese National Anthem, no really, that's what it's called I looked up the german one, it's actually lied der deutschen. @Sunbird WLIU name 5 xbox exclusive games (shouldn't be too hard, seeing as I know a bunch, and I don't even own an xbox)
Straw he/him Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 (edited) 1. Halo 5 2. Halo 4 3. Halo 3 4. Titanfall 5. Tomb Raider WLIU. Name 10 fantasy characters whose names start with L. Edited August 20, 2016 by Straw
Magestar he/him Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 (edited) Liandrin, (WoT) Lan (WoT) Lews Therin (WoT again!) Logain (WoT. ) Luke, (Star Wars is Science Fantasy... That's right, I think.) Leia (Star Wars) Lily (HP) Lillith (Might have the spelling wrong there. Discworld) Legolas (LoTR) Lotho (LoTR) That looks like ten. I'm pretty sure they're all accurate, but I'll check. If it is, WLIU, 8 uncommonly used Fantasy Creatures. (As in, Dragons, Unicorns, Pegasi, Mermaids ETC are out.) edit; Those all look right. I did spell Lilith wrong, but everything else is fine. @Straw, does this fit your expectations? Edited August 20, 2016 by Magestar
+Slowswift Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 (edited) I'm fairly certain that some of these are actually really common, and I just don't read enough. Also, most of them are Greek or some other kind of mythological creature. Do mythological figures count as fantastic? Leviathan Sphinx Harpy Manticore Phoenix is too common, isn't it. Wyverns? Unless they're also super common and/or are the same thing as dragons? Sirens Gremlins??? Lemmasu (I think. I probably spelled it wrong too.) In case I hallucinated ever hearing about lemmasu, jackalope? An extra, just in case: brownies. Ooh! Gnomes? Satyrs. But I think they're fairly common. Centaurs. Same. Honestly, I probably just don't read enough. :/ Edited August 21, 2016 by Slowswift
Sunbird she/her Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I'd like to add to Slowswift's list: Selkie Banshee Chimera Chupacabra Wendigo
Delightful Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 And just for funsies chull spren kandra mistwraith chasmfiend hobbit
Darkness Ascendant he/him Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 If you guys want really unheard of and unused creatures, mainly because I can remember at least 2 books for each of the above mentioned creatures. Nian. I had to do a small play for him during Drama class, and we made it really comedic. Then we googled him and turns out it's a badass. It's a Chinese monster that comes out of the mountains every New Year and terrorises people Amphisbaena, A less-known Greak monster, a reptilian beast with two heads (one on it's tail), it came from Medusa's blood when she was beheaded by Perseus. But hey, Pegasus sprouted from her blood as well, so it's understandable why it's so under-rated Quetzalcoatl- I think at least some of you should know of it, Quetzalcoatl is seen as the common anscestor of Mesoamerican people. He is a snake adorned with the feathers of the quetzal bird. Roc- Massive birds basically Echidna- Known to the Greeks as the mother of all monsters Hekatoncheires. I suspect I spelt it wrong, but they are Greek giants with hundred arms Garuda, a pretty badass Hindu, humanoid bird being, he is said to be large enough to block out the sun. Hippocampus- Another greek monster, part horse-part fish The Rainbow Serpent, An aboriginal creation god from the Dreamtime
Magestar he/him Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 (edited) Well, the first list was good enough considering the extra's you put in, as Phoenix are a little too common, as are Centaurs, and Satyrs. Wyvern's aren't actually common, I just like the idea a lot, so I've read a lot about them. @Slowswift, you can go next, if you want. Sunbird's additions are all really good. Darkness, that list is epic. I didn't even know about the Nian or Amphisbaena. And I doubt I could have gotten Quetzalcoatl or Garuda on the spur of the moment. So, great job, even if Slowswift did get on first. Edited August 21, 2016 by Magestar

Magestar he/him Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 (edited) Shoot. I love the Oceans movies. Some of the best movies ever made. I kind of want someone else to answer this one though. Plus, I don't want to go so close to just having gone. Also, an Echidna is a greek monster. Rather, she is. You can look it up, but the images are kind of... Yeah, just don't look at the images. Dang…I can see faces of some of the others, but can't quite come up with their names without looking them up. jW

Magestar he/him Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 (edited) Yeeaah... Not cool internet. Not cool. Matt Damon completes Jondesu's list. Plus there's also Bruce Willis and Don Cheadle. Oddly, I cannot remember a lot of the main cast beyond that. Bruce Willis was only in Oceans 13, too. I used to have all the names down, but I guess it's been too long since I watched those. I guess I know what I'm doing tonight. I guess I have to go now... Oh Well. WLIU... Name 5 Apple Operating systems. Edited August 22, 2016 by Magestar 1
