Only thing so far I found is a clear statement that weakness = all powers are gone but I can think of at least one where it takes only parts away. (Planeshift) Apart from that only more enforcement for things we already knew.

I have a theory about Sourcefield, and weaknesses by extension, bu I'm only on chapter 9 so it's too early to tell.

Looks like I have to tweak Guardian's weakness in that light, then, but I'll wait until I've actually read the book.

Probably later than you...I'm going to have to steal it out of my brother's cold, dead hands. (I pre-ordered a signed, numbered copy from Weller Book Works for him, and gave him the receipt as a Christmas present...but I didn't have enough money to get one for myself).

Wow. That is a super sweet and awesome Christmas present.

I downloaded Firefight on my e-reader earlier today. I finished during lunch. I literally wanted to scream and tear my hair out because SPRING. 2016.

IF the publisher isn't lying to us again. The back of Steelheart said Firefight would be out in fall of 2014. Now it's January, and here we are...<_<

OH STORMING CHULL

Am I the only one who noticed those words fit the meter of "O Holy Night"?

I am so sorry.

Oh storming chull

The book is not yet published

And here we are

Waiting for its release

Steelheart was good

Firefight is even better

And we have a need

To read the rest right now

Oh, Sanderson

Why

Do you like to torment

Your faithful readers?

Oh why, why why why why?

Must we wait so long?

Mailliw, which epic did Frequency rupture the eardrum of?  I assume it was Current Event, but I'm not sure.

Also, I can't resist imagining Altermind and Frequency having a showdown like this:

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGbhGc_-5NY

"Imbecile."

"Coward."

"Imbecile."

"COWARD!"

It was Current Event, yes.

Hahaha, kinda. Only Freq doesn't actually use coward a lot. He has recently in a way to kind of shunt his guilt for running away from the Dalles after Koschei's death to others.

Also, Obliteration is a storming powerful Epic. :o

In his defense (and this is probably the only time I'll ever defend Frequency) if I had allied myself with Koschei, proclaimed his divinity as he merrily slit throats left and right, and then he died--I'd flee the wrath of Vondra and Springfield, too. :o

I've just read the first mention of him, but if he can level a city without much effort, then I'm scared of him already.

ARgh there's so much I want to say about Obliteration but I've read further than everyone else ARgh... :P

I'm 58% done with the e-book. Which is both good and bad; the good part is that I'm enjoying another awesome installation in the Reckoners trilogy, and the bad part is that every page I read brings me closer to a long and harsh wait for Calamity to be released.

I'm guessing we actually meet him, then? Unless David and Tia just discuss lore about him for 20 pages. Which...come to think of it, I'd enjoy that only slightly less than an actual appearance.

I'm only to chapter 9. I managed to sneak in another 4 chapters in Walmart today, and I never actually got the chance to buy eyeshadow, so that excuse is still good. :D:P

I'm just over 20% done. More specifics on where I am in the spoilers.

Big spoilers. Kinda. :P

Dont open this if you haven't read at least a quarter of the book.

Im at the part where the cell just got to the sub.

Me too. :P But he does feel guilty for it, he feels like he betrayed Koschei and that's the main reason he's coming back and calling everyone cowards.

He's got one huge power, another pretty big one-with a side effect kinda thing that gives him a PI, and a third, smaller one. He's pretty freaky. But cool. In a Nighthound cook kind of way.

Ha! I managed to avoid reading the spoilers when I quoted you! I feel accomplished. :P

Hmm. Usually guilt is a not-disastrous thing in fiction. Maybe it makes a character sad, or leads them to atone for something. Freq? He should stop feeling guilty. For everyone's sake. :o

The comparison compels me.

And then Obliteration died.

And then Obliteration died. I'll happily recite that along with you.

In other news, I ponified Regalia just so I could say I got to it first. :P

On a scale of Ray to Koschei, how well would Obliteration get along with Nighthound?

Pics or it didn't happen. :P

Nighthound would call him a crazy slontze before promptly fleeing whatever city he'd stationed himself in.

The pic I have tells you what her most noticeable power is. I can post it now or once you've learned what her powers are; it's up to you.

Haha, I also put it in three boxes. :P

Yeah. Freq's kinda messed up. :P

Not a nice guy. At all. It's horrifying. And I'm not anywhere near Kobold yet. Just what David knows about him at first is scary enough.

Wow. He must get even worse then.

Isn't it public knowledge already? It was released in the files that some store got in their copies of steelheart, wasn't it?

Measurements of evilness can vary from person to person. Personally I think Nighthound would draw the line at Obliteration's level of [DATA EXPUNGED].

It's technically been publicly available for a while now, if you count the info that got posted on the Coppermind. I don't know if TwiLyght's seen that yet though, so I just thought it'd be nicer to ask first.

Oh dear. :o

On the very dim bright side: an Epic Nighthound wouldn't befriend who could probably curbstomp him! Yay?

Is it

water manipulation? Or self- projection? Those two have already been mentioned, along with another I can't recall at the moment.

I'm of the opinion that Obliteration could curbstomp everyone in Oregon at once, assuming no one set off his weakness. (I don't know what his weakness is at this point.)

So you do know already. Welp, here she is:

I might edit her a bit once I finish the novel. It's hard to focus on a good ponification when you're aching to get back to reading. :P

Me likey. :D

You know, I've noticed that as a general rule canon Epics are more powerful than RP Epics. A lot of the characters in Oregon have prime invincibilities or mild offensive powers, but nothing as spectacular as Steelheart's invulnerability + wind control + strength + energy blasts. Ironic, considering our main goal is the complete destruction of a state. :P

Thanks.  ^_^ I'm tempted to do Newton and Obliteration as well, but I've already been away from Firefight for three hours and I don't think I can stay away any longer. :P

We don't want it to be over too quickly? :P A fight between the most powerful canon Epics , while cool, would probably destroy the state in three minutes flat.

You lucky duck. :P I'm certainly not complaining about getting it as a gift, though. Not at all. It's just the wait that's aggravating.

Well, if and when Sunburst becomes canon, we may be looking at some serious destruction. Or if Electro is given much free rein. Or if Electro and Sunburst fought each other. :o

Whoops... I'll just say I certainly don't mean to come across as taunting in any way. Just... I'm filled with child-like glee at having the sequel to one of my favorite books and am prone to gushing about it.
