Orlion Blight he/him Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Wanna see a wholly new perspective on Middle-Earth's orcs and their motivations? If Peter Jackson left you disappointed, then you'll love this song from an old animated version of LotR. Heh, I referenced that scene to my sister-in-law yesterday. Some punk kids broke into my brother's car, and my advice to her was to "Mash them! Smash them! Skin them alive!" When she said that might not be a good idea, I rebuked her, "And you call yourself and Orc?" 4
Silverblade5 he/him Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 So...my mom's birthday is today, and I still haven't decided what to get her. Any ideas before I head off to the store?

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I just made cookie dough because I wanted cookie dough. And now that it's too hot outside to turn the oven on without heating the entire house….I've decided to see if it's possible to bake cookies on the grill. 2

Just say, "I couldn't find anything that compares with the best gift you have ever received... Me. So I got you a rock." That's what I got my Mum. 4

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Update: After putting four lumps of cookie dough on a sheet of tinfoil, turning the grill heat down fairly low, placing the tinfoil on the top rack in hopes indirect heat would bake the cookies the way an oven would, and leaving the cookies on the grill for five minutes, I have come to a disheartening conclusion. It is not possible to bake cookies on the grill. 3

It is not possible to bake cookies on the grill. Or maybe you just need to do some more... For what it's worth, I would eat those. If I didn't have gluten intolerance. 3

Nah, I'll just go eat some raw cookie dough and stick my tongue out at the FDA. Gluten intolerant? Sad. I've tried some gluten-free options available where I live, and most of them are pretty good. Of course, there's the added bonus that most gluten-free options tend to be additive-free as well, which cuts out most of my allergens, but it's nice to know that you can get decent packaged cookies without gluten. 1

It is not possible to bake cookies on the grill. You'd probably have better luck on the dashboard of a car in Arizona summer. It's a slow bake, but less likely to burn that way.

I could actually try that, where I live. And the upside is that it would make my car smell like cookies! 1
Kaymyth she/her Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 I could actually try that, where I live. And the upside is that it would make my car smell like cookies! Yup. I remember Arizona summers. My dad used to live in Phoenix when I was a kid.

DanTheSeamonster he/him Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 I would eat them, but the Dark Alley has kinda made me suspicious of all cookies I didn't make myself. Say, those cookies don't have spikes in them, do they?

Say, those cookies don't have spikes in them, do they? Even if they did, they'd probably be too burned to work properly. Have at it. 3
Delightful Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Twi, here's the most important question of all: did you try one?
Kestrel she/her Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 We go back home tomorrow Nice I need to do some art. I've been just doodling all week 1
Kobold King he/him Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) Environmentalist joke for y'all. A logging tycoon is meeting with a world-famous lumberjack, hoping to recruit him for their new operation. They chat for a while, with the tycoon finally steering the conversation back to the lumber industry. "So," the tycoon says casually, "You've done a lot of work in the logging business?" "That I have," the lumberjack grunts. "I've worked on every continent." "Fascinating," the tycoon replies. "Where, would you say, have you done your best work?" "Down in the Sahara Forest," the woodcutter answers. "I got a lot of good timber down there." The tycoon raises an eyebrow, confused. "Don't you mean the Sahara Desert?" he asks finally. The lumberjack takes a long gulp of coffee, and then nods his head sagely. "Yep," he explains, "That's what they call it these days." ... HAHAHAHA! It's funny because the logging industry alters the environment on a large and usually destructive level. Edited June 13, 2015 by Kobold King 9
Kestrel she/her Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Shopping all day in town. Maybe I won't run my debit card dry.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Twi, here's the most important question of all: did you try one? No, I didn't. I make a habit of not eating things that are "blackened" with something other than spices.
Kobold King he/him Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 No, I didn't. I make a habit of not eating things that are "blackened" with something other than spices. You monster! There were entire halves of those cookies that weren't singed! Do you have any idea how badly I wanted to eat one of those things!?! Ahem. Your choice, I suppose.
Kestrel she/her Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 No, I didn't. I make a habit of not eating things that are "blackened" with something other than spices. weak. go eat them. 1
