Doc12 Posted May 16 Posted May 16 (edited) Goolius the taynix sat alone and sad amongst the chaos as the remaining suspects argued. “We’re the Superiority! We can’t just kill him!” “He’s too dangerous to be left alive!” “It’s not the Superiority way!” "Do it," said Goolius. The others turned to him in surprise. “I volunteer for execution,” he said, softly. “Just… Get the right person tomorrow. Please.” “Victory?” Asked Azren, hopefully. “Victory? No, Azren,” Goolius said. “The shroud of the dissidents has fallen. Begun, the fall of the Diplomacy has.” ----------------- These were trying times, but Zrraii felt sure they would pass the test. The attempt on its life - the hyperjump - had left it scarred and deformed, but its resolve has never been stronger. Even now, as many other technicians fled, Zrraii grew its crystals to each broken system, diagnosing, fixing, working on a thousand tasks simultaneously. The explosions had heavily damaged several critical systems, but they had time - the Diplomacy had backups. They could fix this. Crystals on the outskirts of the maintenance pathways crushed underfoot. Again? Zrraii took stock of itself. The last hyperjump had taken so much out of it. Could it do so again? A million calculations running through its system. No. It couldn’t. As the attacker approached, Zrraii focused on growing as many crystals as it could over the most critical systems of the station, protecting them as best as it could from further destruction. Perhaps it was always meant to be like this. The cytonics had been a fluke. Resonants never ran from conflict. They grew. They accepted. And so Zrraii accepted. “Luminous beings are we,” it said, as the assassin drew close, “not this crude matter.” Crystal shards sprinkled onto the ground. Zrraii had moved on to its next adventure. --------- Verdance was executed! They were a Loyal Citizen and a Cytonic Mindblader, Inhibitor, and Cytonic Communicator!! Your vote on me during cycle 4 also looks a bit suspicious. You came in at literally the last minute so that nothing else could change, assumedly to protect your teammates. Unless I’m wrong about the definition that is technically hammering, yes? Another point: if I was elim, why would I choose to kill Wahr over TUM? Wahr believed me and was willing to vote with me this cycle as well. Why would I kill my ally over someone who I have no idea his stance on me? On the other hand, if Wahr was alive he would likely vote with me on mippo, which means he couldn’t be left alive. Just some points I thought of. There’s really no way to prove either of us isn’t elim, but I do feel like there’s more evidence against mippo than against me at this point. 1
StrikerEZ he/him Posted May 17 Author Posted May 17 And that's the game! Please stay tuned for the Aftermath!! 1
StrikerEZ he/him Posted May 17 Author Posted May 17 Aftermath The Administrator watched the readouts of all the Diplomacy’s systems from their office. They’d refused to give the evacuation order. The Diplomacy would endure, it had to. They’d staked their very life on it. Finally, a notification came in on their datapad. They read it. The datapad fell to the floor. Slowly, they walked to Station Security, past the waiting room, past the cells, into the portal to the Nowhere. They were just in time to see Cryax the Kitsen be exiled from this dimension forever. He did not go quietly, cursing the Administrator and all their relatives in extremely creative ways. Chief Winnifred turned to the Administrator, bowed, and left the room, leaving the Administrator alone with the only other object in the room, a hermetically sealed canister. “Report,” they murmured. “The last dissident has been discovered.” Aire said, from inside the canister. “Cryax, the Kitsen. Crystal shards on his uniform from murdering the Resonant Zrraii.” “The Kitsen.” The Administrator nodded. “Was he the last?” “The Diplomacy is secure,” Aire said. “Zrraii’s last actions were to restore and seal the backup life support systems from further tampering. I recommend a posthumous honor for it.” “How are the citizens? Who do we have to thank for the lack of chaos?” “Azren - the Varvax from IR - she stepped up to the occasion. Rallied the people, calmed them down, made sure there was no stampede. Helped by a slug, she claims.” The Administrator rubbed their temples. “Good. Good.” A sigh. “I cannot begin to imagine how to start my report.” They blinked. “What about the human?” “We haven’t had any reports of them at all. Presumed dead in the chaos, or maybe it managed to escape. Many starfighters launched in the panic.” The Administrator nodded slowly. “It seems we have weathered the storm after all, my friend…” “It certainly seems that way, Administrator,” agreed Aire. The Administrator considered the figment, waiting for more. “Did we get the last dissident?” They asked, finally. Aire simply laughed. The Administrator was silent for a very long time. Aire waited. “Who turned you against the Superiority?” The Administrator asked, finally. “The Superiority did it by itself,” Aire replied. “Its arrogance, its lust for power. The Superiority is a threat to all other free people in the galaxy, the very thing it sought to destroy. The five species deem themselves of Primary Intelligence, and use that to step on the necks of every other species in the galaxy…” She grew quiet for a moment. “I would have rather died than let you close your grip on another sector.” “You were my closest advisor, Aire,” the Administrator murmured. “I trusted you. I chose you. You were supposed to bring the Superiority to this sector, not leave it in chaos!” “I hate you,” Aire said simply. The Administrator was silent again, for a very long time. “It seems that I have not known you at all. I will… think of you often. I hope there is something for you on the other side.” Aire laughed mirthlessly. “I’ll be among friends, won’t I? All those troublemakers you’ve thrown through your bloodless guillotine. How many has the Superiority exiled over the centuries?” “Goodbye, Aire.” “Goodbye, Petra. One day, the Superiority will collapse under its own weight, brought down by one of the species it has oppressed. Maybe a figment? Oh, maybe a human. Just think about it. I will not be the last dissident." The Administrator walked out the room, nodded to the Chief, who stepped in to formally exile his most trusted aide. They returned to their office, got themselves ready to make a speech about how the Superiority had prevailed, about how the Superiority would always prevail. So what that the Diplomacy had come within a single cycle of complete destruction? Goodness had prevailed, after all! I will not be the last dissident. The Administrator shivered. The speech remained unwritten. ~~~~~ Vote Count: ___ (Mippo) (2): coco.pudding, The Unknown Medallion coco.pudding (1): ___ (Mippo) Mippo has been removed! Mystic He/Him Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Nice job everyone(but mostly Mippo) In order to be consistent, I need to ask. Can everyone list their number of actions and abilities? I need to know if I was the strongest. I had 3 actions and 3 abilities: Inhibition, Mindblades, and Non-cytonic Communication. Time to read through the Elim Doc
Stardust She/Her Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Ahhh we were so close. Great job Mippo, you made it so far. Literally carried the entire game for the last few cycles. That was so much fun, thank you GMs for doing all of that, and for putting up with my incessant plotting. Thank you to my fellow elims as well, that was a great first Elim game.
