Just finished Wind and Truth

Well that was a rollercoaster! I admit I skimmed most of it, but I read all the Kaladin and Dalinar parts and only part of the rest. I'm just happy that I can still keep my hopes for Syladin alive (they both deserve it after all this, okay?!). I also really look forward to the Heralds coming back, just this time with Kaladin who is frankly an upgrade on old Jezzy. Just wonder what's next for this Cosmere-wide plot. I feel like this book confirmed some suspicions people had after reading the Wax and Wayne stuff... but Dalinar's Sunmaker's Gambit being the cause definitely tickled my funny bone. He noped the heck out and tossed Taravangian into a pot of boiling water.

Syl has never been depicted as a child. Have you read Wind and Truth? It is explicitly noted that while Kaladin often describes her behavior as "childlike", she has always taken the shape of a young woman. You might be confused with her often wearing a "girlish dress" in the early books, which really just means a simple dress with no safehand sleeve.

Concur, Kaladin has very strong Aro vibes, he does not need a romantic relationship to be happy.
Not everybody does, and it's nice to finally have a MC without a love interest (discussed in more depth here and here).
