I gave you one.

IotE

Spoiler

It’s a Shard, imposing its will on an unchecked splinter with a similar intent.

Im Cakobaning it, except I’m merely telling it to respect its kin. Should be muh easier - it’s not like im imposing an Invested intent on a noninvested being.

And I have my think tank of spiritwebs helping me along.

SR ain’t too far away.

And if it doesn’t care, then it shouldn’t count as investiture. That’s not how investiture works.

I think y’all are underestimating just how powerful a shard is

With WaT

Spoiler

Two shards were able to extend a massive time dilation effect across a system for a decade or so with no cause save their power.

Well, you see, the Maw is a black hole, and its cognitive aspect pre-Awakening effects its personality, like how part of Nightblood's personality comes from the face that he's a sword. Black holes eat stuff and don't discriminate, so I feel like the Maw should be the same. It's always hungry. It took Nightblood hundreds of years to learn not to consume his own friends, which'll be even harder for the black hole since consuming is what a black hole does.

Ok

Then another angle

I flopping move my planet in the direction it ain’t going

It shouldn’t be able to accelerate (and if it can, I can just flip it of to another direction.)

If what I do doesn’t work, oh well. I guess I’m dead.

Um.

How, though? Like, if it can accelerate at all, a shard should be able to accelerate it more.

And as for nightblood, nightblood was countering the thoughts of billions of spiritwebs on the nature of swords, and there was just one person at a time countering that. Sure, an invested person, but one nonetheless.

A shard is not a person.

Yeah, Shards can run, but not planets.

Uhh... I don't get what exactly you're trying to say

What 'bout it?

If the black hole dies before it reaches a planet, it dies. If it doesn't, it doesn't.

Cultivation saw the destruction that was to come to his world. He knew that that deflection would be useless. So, he embraced it. But not without precautions. After all, he still had little bit of preservation in his planet. He could use that.

So, Cultivation, relying on his old plan that he knew would prevail, spread Preservation's magic across Uviab. He made it weak enough that it would not fully prevent it, but strong enough to prevent collapse. He knew this would prevale.

As he saw the supernova wash across his world, he quickly rebuilt it behind the supernova. This time, made of stories. He also placed an island with a cave. In the cave, he held his Purest Story. And the key to being his Avatar. However, he also made it dangerous. He needed something he could use for a final challenge.

Fragment of a God, seeds of a blank canvas, I wish to speak to you.

As their power integrates itself across the world, you sense them growing. Expanding. Each of the twin seeds becomes something new. Like dragons, but not. Wurms.

The first seed, a brilliant magena, lands on the island, drawn by the power of his Purest Story. She grows and grows and grows, feeding on investiture. A great wave of crimson mist obscures the island, and once it clears, a terrifying beast perches on the rock. Thus, Cymail, the Great Crimson Dragon of the West, was born. Her wings blot out the sun when she flies overhead, and the very Stories in one's heart tremble at her roar.

Yes?

Spoiler

I'd presume this is your perpendicularity too.

The second seed lands elsewhere, binding himself to a mountain at the eastmost edge of the known world. His wings emerge from the seed, not so large as his sister's, but terrible nonetheless. Cyan fire rings the top of the mountain, a beacon for the desperate, the needy, the power-hungry, and the lost. Come and be changed. Come and be remade. Come and be.... diminished.

Thus, Nienas, the Great Azure Dragon of the East, was born.

Spoiler

In the Alorian system, the Seeds of the Great God of Art are called Wurms. They appear like dragons, the gods of old, yet they, on a base level, are so profoundly different.

There are two sets of Wurms, two sets of Twins, in the Alorian system —one on the Mechanical Planet of the Sun God, Bits, and the other on Uviab, the Land of Stories.

The Two Wurms on Uviab are as follows:

First comes Cymail; She Who Devours the Sun, the Great Crimson Dragon of the East, Guardian of the Heart of the World. To face her is to face death- to conquer her is to be elevated, to fail will mark the end of your story. She dwells at the center of the world, a place where The Cultivation created a test at the rebirth of this world. Legends speak of Power, a story so pure that it could once again break the world. Many have tried, and many have failed. Cymail has consumed their Tales, and their bodies lie broken upon the shores of that wretched island. Cymail's Magenta form stands at 100 feet tall and is twice that in length, her body fueled by the stories she has devoured. Her wings blot out the sun when she flies overhead, and the very stories in your body tremble at her roar. Those who have Seen her and survived have wept for days on end, for they saw something they can not describe. Cymail has some skill in Storywatching, although her power is neither subtle nor tame. Where some would use Storywatching as a chisel, Cymail uses it as a hammer, ripping souls to shreds.

Second comes Nienas; He Who Waits At Morning, The Great Azure Dragon of the West, Pactbroker and Soulchanger. He sits upon a horde of power- one rivaled only by his sister, and surpassed only by the great Cultivation. The desperate, the power-hungry, and the lost come to him for a Change. A change to their Stories. Their reasons differ, but their fate is always the same. They get what they desire, but return from his mountain... diminished. Nienas grants any of their heart's desire- Eternal life, Love, or the Ability to conquer kingdoms- for a price. They give up their own stories, to be fed on, regurgitated, and processed. Nienas is extraordinarily skilled in Storywatching, far more so than any mortal, and capable of things those lesser powers would deem impossible.

Ahh alright.

I used to wander a mostly deserted Shard during my evenings, except when folks like Al and Denisimo are on.

Now Born of Mist is on daily around this time.

Is it cause there were two Shard on one world?
