What happened to the chipped of metal of Ishins blade?

At the end of book 4 nightblood clashwd with Ishins blade. And it chipped. Did Nightblood consume it or was flown away.

Is there somewhere in the mountains a piece of honors godmetal lying around? A chunk in the perfect size for burning?

It seems that it would auto-repair if given Investiture, similar to Shardplate.

In Rhythm of War, Nightblood broke off a piece of an Honorblade. Could you technically pulverize an Honorblade to the point it wouldn't exist? If so, what would happen?

You could pulverize an Honorblade to the point that it wouldn't exist. You would basically need to repair it with Investiture, and if you didn't, it would happen, the same thing that happened to Shardplate. You would be making... basically it's changing form. Either you would end up with a bunch of dust made of a God Metal, which you could do stuff with, or you add Investiture and reconstitute it, or you get it to change back into its other states. Those are all possibilities.

Most likely Ishar would have done this and reconstituted the chip into the Blade.

I plan to ask Brandon about that chip next chance I get. (We're both planning to be at Worldcon this year.) My crackpot theory: Hoid grabbed it somehow, and he's a Mistborn. He planned to burn it and gain an even stronger link to Honor.

Perfect godmetals can be burned by anyone. Not only Mistborn.

That is not a confirmed fact. Lerasium is burnable by anybody, because it has a side effect of making the person a Mistborn.

Atium is burnable by anyone, because of the Atium Retcon

I think Brandon said that God Metals can be burned by anyone with sufficient connection the the shard.

There is a lot more nuance than that, with little clarification.

My own reasoning was that even if anyone could burn Tanavastium, a Mistborn would think of doing it.

There is a WOB that states that a Mistborn/Anyone in general cannot Burn a Godmetal if it has it's own Identity, so you can't burn a piece of a Shardblade  because Spren are people, and likely not an Honorblade either because they're self-aware.

Only Godmetals that don't think, like Lerasium and Atium, are Burnable.
