Should we see if we can coordinate location-goings? Or leave that to own decisions?

The Abandoned Village, Lighthouse, and Topographical Anomaly seem like the three most important. Does two at each and one with three sound good?

The teams could roleplay as well to keep engagement, would be very fun. Though when we're gone people can search our tents and it might be possible to plant evidence.

AraRaash opened his eyes.

This was not where he'd last closed them. He didn't particularly need sleep anymore, but he and Faleast were beginning to get slightly desperate looking for an Answer. Waking up in strange places wasn't that unusual in that search, as the multiverse scattered him around like a pool ball on an Abraded table with infinite holes. This was... more different than it usually was, though.

Let's see. Mostly human - check. Bones - not his good set, and not a familiar one, but a good one, lean, young. Environment - had trees and dirt, so not Roshar or Taldain or Zebral, but that didn't narrow it down much more. Position - lying down in some kind of sleeping bag, felt artificial, so assembly-line or later. Strife - away for time being. People - around, talking, he'd deal with that later. Faleast...

"Here," the ever-present voice said. Some knot of tension on AraRaash's leg loosened. Faleast sometimes had different forms in these different moments, but they'd always stuck together. Separating would likely be disastrous, especially with so little information. What else. Universe - well, he had nothing on that one.

"It's an Earth analogue, I think. So a level up from the cosmeres, but not by far. Something Investiture-like, though, around us all. Something eldritch. I'll see what else I can find," Faleast said, as his voice faded. He'd woken up before AraRaash did. Survival helped him with that, although not with their overall problem.

That left AraRaash left to impersonate an unknown individual amongst another suspicious group, hoping they wouldn't be looking for him and discover they had something ancient and eldritch within their group as well.

Just another day in the multiverse.

Having given up on getting any information from Polly, Jaz supposed she'd just have to do her best to analyze the others based on her own observations. That decided, she moved on to other important things.

Like dinner.

Since nobody else had made a move towards the cooking supplies, she started preparing food. She didn't add many seasonings that might be unfamiliar to the others... but they were there. After all, everyone likes a good surprise, right?

feeling a little hungry, Roy moved towards the foodstuffs and saw Jaz? Rummaging around and seemingly making some food. Roy squinted his eyes untrusting and moved towards them.

”what are you up to?” He asked in a friendly enough tone with matching facial expressions

Whoops

Okay, I've had a busy time recently, but I agree with most of the sentiments expressed here

I think we should first test out what's going on here, and then try and figure out how our different roles play into this

Long Game 105 Day One: Exploration

The Psychologist never did reveal their findings, and while the discussion continued for many hours into the night, perhaps more hours than was wise, we decided not to send anyone back to Central. We had mostly made the decision on our own, but the thing that finally caused us to shut up was the Biologist, the leader put in place by Central, putting her foot down. She said we had too little information to go on yet, and that was final.

When we woke the next morning, all was well. Our nerves calmed, we made preparations for our day's travels, though where we would go once again came under debate.

~

LG105 Day One has begun!

No one has been sent back to Central!

Votecount:

Things to Note:

  • You can Explore locations today, but voting does not resume until the next turn. >.>
  • Actions can be sent in within your GMPM and must specify a location to search.
  • Remember that all italics are purely flavor!
  • And even the non italicized mechanical text can be misleading without full context.
  • Remember also that it is against the rules to directly quote from your GMPM, only paraphrasing is allowed.
  • If you put your Exploration actions in within the next 11 hours, you'll get a blurb
  • This turn will end at 12:30 in one day, on Sunday the 27th of April.

Players:

Spoiler
  1. @|TJ| Linguist
  2. @KelsierApologist Psychologist

  4. @Ashbringer Medic

Available Locations for Exploration:

Spoiler

Base Camp

You have arrived, after a now foggy and forgotten journey from the border, to the Base Camp. You found stored supplies to supplement what you traveled with. You set up your tents and equipment, which is outdated due to the proscription of modern technology in Area X.

Perhaps it wouldn't be polite to go snooping through someone's tents, but what they don't know can't hurt them.

Linguist's Tent

Psychologist's Tent

Surveyor's Tent

Medic's Tent

Biologist's Tent

Anthropologist's Tent

Archeologist's Tent

Abandoned Village

The records from previous expeditions speak of an abandoned village in the same direction as the Lighthouse. Not much is known about this village, but the records claim that previous searches proved fruitless.

??? Topographical Anomaly

More revealed by the absence of mention than by the few actual references to a “Topographical Anomaly,” this seems the least explored of your options.

Lighthouse

The Lighthouse is perhaps the most prominent feature of Area X. You have been tasked with exploring it and uncovering the information hidden therein. Even if you weren't under orders, you would still feel drawn there. Something inexplicable pulls you. As if its long dormant light were focused on you and only you.

Island Y

Little is known of this island except its existence. It is not considered a priority, but there must be some information hidden in its own smaller lighthouse and village.

Up the Coast

It has been determined that the secret of Area X does not lie along the coast. It is outside the purview of your mission, though you may explore here if necessary

Anyone wanna explore an abandoned village? :P

I’ve already committed to the topographical anomaly and if I switched now I’m worried TUA’s going to have another passive-aggressive writeup

Anyone want to join?

Preferably someone with expertise

I don’t think I’m qualified for this

I'll join.

Also, I'm guessing (from the flavor text italics but still) that the most important places to explore are the Lighthouse and the Anomaly.

Passive-aggressive writeup?

I would never.

Passive aggressive tags on the other hand...

So, they were the Medic of this expedition. Better act as one.

The Medic went through their - his? eh, their would work for now - medical supplies. Seemed to be in order with the other Earths they'd been to. Gauze, tourniquets, a thermometer, sleeping pills, epinephrine, a few other pills they didn't immediately recognize but had some generally antiparasitic effects. A standard medical kit for the set time period, nothing out of the ordinary. Entirely average. Perfectly normal.

That was wrong for two reasons. This world wasn't natural, unless Area X was one great lie. That, and the Medic's eye spotted extra depth in the lower half of the case, and a hidden latch underneath a particularly normal looking stethoscope.

Within the hidden case were fourteen small syringes, all neatly ordered and sorted. The Medic reached out slowly for one of the seven unlabeled ones, trying to weigh it, before letting a tiny part of themself touch the end. Instant numbness, that took a moment to dissipate even with the Medic's... unique physiology. Tranquilizers. Heavy ones, if a scratch dose had that effect.

The Medic didn't bother testing one of the remaining seven, the ones with a tiny skull and crossbones etched into the glass.

"They really didn't trust this to go well, did they," the Medic mused.

"'They', or 'you'?" the voice responded. The Medic made no motion. The two of them... still hadn't determined how exactly a universe they found by Strife worked. Whether they became a new twin-individual within it, or whether AraRaash's particular skillset replaced a person that up to that point had a hopefully fulfilling and complete life, before they were abruptly spared from whatever horrific nonsense awaited them that the pair of them got to then experience.

It didn't bother the Medic as much as Faleast. It didn't bother the Medic at all. Much.

"Alright," the Medic said, swiftly packing up their bags. "Where to, then?"

Long Game 105 - Night Two: Revelation

The Camp was quiet, with so many gone.

I had stayed back, though I was not inactive like some others. Instead, I collected samples from closer to home, learning of this area we had dismissed upon our arrival.

I didn't like it with so few people.

I felt vulnerable.

I feel vulnerable.

They're back, but I don't like their expressions. They look like bearers of bad news.

~

Welcome to LG105 Night Two!

No-one has died.

Some rules have been revealed though.

The "Return Anew" wincon has been discovered! You will know if you possess it.

Return Anew: Replace all living players with doppelgangers and leave Area X. Do not allow the village to complete the Destroy Area X win condition. They win when every player still in the game has the Return Anew wincon. They will have a document which all doppelgangers can communicate in. This will end the game.

An new detail has been added to your win condition:

Complete the Mission: Follow your orders from Central and determine what is happening in Area X. You will discover more about this and the scope of your mission by exploring Area X. Do not allow the Doppelgangers to overtake you.

Things to Note:

  • You may vote today, but all actions will take place next turn.
  • Votes must be placed in Bolded Red
  • Remember that all italics are purely flavor!
  • And even the non italicized mechanical text can be misleading without full context.
  • Remember that quoting from your GMPM is against the rules. You may only paraphrase.
  • This turn will end at 12:30 in two days, on Tuesday the 29th of April.

I went to the village with somebody else and we didn't find anything useful this time but we could next time. Though we could have also unleashed the dopplegangers as the people were like shadows there 🤔
