I am also slightly suspicious of Kas rn, since he seems to be so fully be controlling the conversation this cycle and last cycle. Could genuinely be a village thing--but it could very easily be an elim making themselves very present and active in the thread to avoid suspicion--since a lot of elims tend to prefer to lurk and make minimal posts in my experience.

This does feel weird, as Kas kinda is dominating, but that might just be standard village behavior for Kas.... I'm going to vote for Steel, something seems off to me about him, but that can easily change before rollovers.

oh shoot forgot you were a sitter :P, retracting my vote for Steel now. Steel.

That is generally a town trait and I'm not sure why you're attributing it to being an elim fmpov - is there anything Kas has said that makes you lean that way specifically? If you could expand on your read here in more depth, that would help me figure out your thought process behind this.

Thoughts on others who have been more vocal in the thread and have more presence?

I mean, it's something I've seen in other mafia-style games I've participated in--making yourself super visible and obvious, since it can often put others "at ease" so to speak. I wasn't aware that it was considered to mostly be a town trait. 🤷‍♂️

I don't remember any specific posts that caused my wariness of Kas, just a general feeling of off-ness as a whole. While I try to make analysis when I have them, I generally run off of gut instincts instead to varying degrees of effectiveness since that is a more enjoyable way to play for me. That's the problem with explaining my thought process--the process is largely built on vibes.

The only other people that come to mind would be Jo and Steel. For Jo, I don't think she is an elim, since his reactions seem genuine--but I am also in the same boat they are in where I don't actually trust my judgement on them since we're married, lol.

As for Steel, I have conflicting feelings on his alignment, but I think that is partially due to the last game we just played in.

In general, Kas's posts are the ones that have stuck out to me most, from a mixture of the amount of information it seems like he has and the general tone feeling off to me.

Regardless, as it was pointed out that my joke vote has no real purpose Drake Marshall, placing my actual vote on Mark IV.

Sorry I wasn’t around much today. I read the thread twice and will have to go through it a few more times to really discuss but I did get a elim feel from xxGaea for now

Posted (edited)

After thinking about it, and reading some posts, the election mechanic is broken. The black Ajah wins if we depose a village or if we don’t depose a Elim. That’s two win conditions versus a minimal beneficial village armylmn. (Sorry about spelling) Having double votes and seeing all docs are good but not that good. Therefore, it’s probably best to ignore the election until you have to. Although, so we can execute sus sitters (nice alliteration/ looking at you, Sart) It’s probably best to determine a sus sitter and then spread out your votes for the other five sitters. That way you can choose who gets stilled but deadlock the election.
just looking ahead to the night,

um as for voting someone out, I’m not sure if anyone is really sus. It’s hard to tell when someone’s lying over text. The only person I know I’m suspicious of is a sitter (cough cough sart) and I don’t really have any other suspects. Therefore, I’m would want to let the lord of chaos reign and hopefully vote tomorrow. As a very prelimary vote, Kasno really articulate reason but vibes feel a little off. I’ll finalize and probably change my vote tmrw.
happy hunting, good night, and may the light illumine yall!

Regardless, as it was pointed out that my joke vote was a stupid thing to do, Drake Marshall, placing my actual vote on Mark IV.

It's generally a town trait in my experience. It requires a certain kind of elim to be able to pull off performances like that and survive until endgame, which I don't generally see (although tbf here - I play mostly with people who bus a lot, because bussing is ez).

In your post you mention:

Which I was curious on why you were leaning towards this being the case over it being a townie putting in a lot of effort and being more vocal in thread (the way I've seen v!Kas do before - tbf I've never seen e!Kas and don't know his range).

I understand reading off of vibes and instincts (I do that a lot too), but generally it's possible to pinpoint a reason behind why specifically you're feeling this way, even if it's just a specific post you point at and are like "wow this is wolfy", which is what I was trying to get you to elaborate to.

I'm also curious on your mental picture of Kas's wolf range, but that's a whole different question I'm not sure how to phrase or go about talking about rn.

To be fair, I've never played with Kas before afaik so I don't actually know what his playstyle is one way or the other. In general, yeah, a lot of people do work that way, but my brain doesn't. I can't always pinpoint what is causing it, and if I go back and read everything Kas has said now, none of it will be the source, it will all just be suspicious, because it tis the full picture that is making me suspicious.

the bolded part is just the phrasing I used, and much like Gaea I can't point to anything specifically, just a very sus control of the convo, especially since hes not a sitter.

Understandable, I get that irt the full picture making you suspicious. I think it's natural to be a bit paranoid of thread leaders anyways so I can understand where you're coming from.

You're um. Doing something insanely wolfy by taking Gaea's point and using it to further a push on Kas, rather than having your own reason. You've even used Gaea's wording "control of the convo".

I'd like you to try to elaborate on this as much as possible here. I understand vibe reads and the full picuture seeming wolfy, but as someone who is known for "lol I don't explain my reads" to a lot of people, I often find there's still a specific post I can find that I can say pinged me, even if I can't articulate why I found that post wolfy, and I'd like if you could skim through Kas's posts again and let me know if you feel this way about a certain post.

this one particularly seems sus, automatically assuming Ajahs aren't willing to band around sitters, which seems like the mentality of most Ajahs in the actual game

Jo, you seem to imply you aren't suspecting your Ajah-mates for supporting you. If you are a Villager, why do you think they would agree to back you? Do you feel there's E!agenda involved? I'm trying to understand why your Ajah seems to be fairly trusting/hakuna matata as that doesn't seem like a very Village fog-of-war mindset.

Edited to add:

Why so? Do you think the election will be purely random?

I'm not sure I follow your point here - what about this do you find elim indicative?

in my (albeit limited) experience, its a very e!mentality to assume villagers don't trust each other, but my experience finds the opposite, players love to find 2 or 3 people who they trust completely, which seems even more likely to occur when forcibly grouped together in docs

I can't help but read this as a perspective slip lol. Townies tend to be paranoid. Very paranoid. Especially in a doc - you've essentially got a difference check (e/v) in your Ajah a lot of the time since there are likely 4-5 elims, and there are 6 teams of 3, insert statistics or something here. It is very natural to be paranoid of your Ajah buddies lol (I'm currently concerned about mine, because I lean town on one but do not on the other, and now have to consider if this is a world where there are three town in an Ajah together, or if the one I'm not townleaning is potentially likely an elim because I find the other one towny).

Townies do like finding people to trust. It is not naturally going to happen with their Ajah buddies imo, and (for me at least) there is likely more paranoid over Ajah friends than over other people in the game.

Now, the reason why this is a bit of a concerning line of thought to me is because elims tend to overassume how townread a slot is, and tend to bleed TMI when they believe someone is very towny. Townies are paranoid because they do not have TMI and they don't have all the answers. Elims have TMI and know if someone is town or not.

hmmm, that's very interesting

I tend to trust my doc-mates, having observed both they're behavior in and out of doc, I truly think they're village.

Based on comments people abt their Ajahs, I see both sides of the spectrum occurring. Some trust their ajahs, some don't.

Posted

Ok getting back to the sitters the way my vote went was I didn’t really want it but didn’t trust the two I was with so I said I would allow it to get to random decision. One of the people in my ajah didn’t really have much to say and the other said he’d rather vote for me than let it go random because then there is nothing to get an alignment read off of. So I let myself get voted because I was still suspicious of him

Twinstorm, stop trusting me. I don’t trust you and it’s making me feel bad

Analysis post time.

I’m going to hedge my bets on this, I am as of now not capable of awesome big-brain reads, but I’ll try my hand at some.

The Wandering Wizard - Evelyn Rosemary

Null read right now. He’s just having fun in the thread. V-read, because I love Princess Bride references.

TwinStorm - Melian

My Ajah-mate. I don’t have any great insight into his posts in our doc. Mostly games and bee movie discussion. Gut read as V, but nothing to back it up.

Ashbringer

Originator of my partner-claiming idea. Slight v-read for now

Kasimir - Kamil Lovric

Slight e read on you. Kas, I feel your suspicion on TUF’s ajah-mates not declining to elect him based on knowledge that new players wouldn’t have (and I didn’t have before this) is a little bit wolfy

ThatOneWorldhopper - Alkarii Tay'TerTüne

Asking your questions in the shard seems v. Not a new insight , I know.

Mark IV

Also shares my One Opinion of the cycle. Pretty null though

Teldris Anuar - Tesan Alruddin

I really don’t know about you. Slight v, as I expect active elims

STINK - Rasmuht

How did you sleep?

xxGaea - Altea O’Canavan, aka Nameless Whisper

Hi Gaea! You seem to be a devout worshipper of RNGsus. You’re also luckier than me, so I’m going to let you do what you will on that

I don’t have anyone leaning really e right now, but I do want to put in a bit of a vote, so Kasimir

LOL what can I say--RNGsus either loves me or hates me, doesn't really seem to be an inbetween when it comes to my probability. 😹

… I don’t like a D1 Kas exe. Even if this game is one with limited trust. I trust my docmates, as far as I can throw them, and I can throw them much further than some others.
