Highprince645343 Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 Out of all the things which haven't been mentioned yet, I'd say Odium being unable to truly beat Dalinar was my favorite. The sheer feeling of rage Taravangian experiences is so satisfying as he realizes that Dalinar may have died, but ultimately got the last laugh.
Through the Living Hopper He/Him Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 I loved the Unoathed. I realize that a lot of people don't, but I love the closure. In WoK we hear tons about how dominant Shardbearers are, and I feel like that got overshadowed with the Radiant Plate. The final callback to the raw power of Shard swas beautiful. I probably would have cried except I was too tense. "Taln fought back" was easily in the top three scenes in the Stormlight Archive, especially Ash's line. Nightblood's whole arc was super heartwrenching. And the "Honor is dead, but I'll see what I can do" literally made my jaw drop. Again, I bet I would have been sobbing if I hadn't been so on edge. Final note about the Unoathed (Mistborn Spoilers): Spoiler Like I said, the callback to the raw power of Shards was amazing, and it really reminded me of the end of HoA. The lesson "Atium makes you invincible" was repeated through the whole series, like "Shardbearers are the most powerful force on the battlefield." Both endings were utter perfection. 1
Teravangian Posted August 11, 2025 Posted August 11, 2025 I would say the general Adolin arc was easilly the best part of the book. 2
Sillow Posted February 26 Posted February 26 "We have lost, finally. Honor is dead." "Yes," a quiet voice said. "Honor is dead." Both Heralds spun to see Kaladin Stormblessed slowly pushing himself up to a seated position, hair disheveled, blue uniform rumpled, dirt on his face. He looked at his right hand, what was left of it, and grimaced. Then he sighed and heaved himself to his feet. "But," Stormblessed said, "I'll see what I can do." -Chills, tears, and the feeling of something fully complete. Call back to when he went to Adolin and Renarin's aid. Personally the greatest highlight of the first half of the SA- 1
MrHobbes343 Posted February 27 Posted February 27 For me the far and away best moment was... Spoiler Maya calling Adolin a slut. Her crassness is funny, but also shows that older spen have a deeper understanding of human culture. Maya understands humans in a way Sil or Pattern don't. And well enough to not only recognize general human social morays, but to know the correct insult for violating them. It speaks to me of a far deeper and older connection with humanity then the new generation of spren crossing over recently. Also I thought Tanner was a bit of a blowhard, but I was genuinely sad to watch him go. Also Retribution realizing that "all eyes were on him" was amazing and I loved it.
Vielence She/Her Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Favorite moments? Well, most to all of the book tbh. Specifics? -Kal dancing with Syl. I was sobbing. It was so beautiful. -The "Taln fought back" and the revealment that he never broke -Adolin fighting ... dang it what was his name in the throne room right after he blocked with the candelabra and accepted his peg leg. -Dalinar's bargain scene with Retribution -Szeth dancing at the very beginning of his flashbacks. -Wit's first and last interaction with Kaladin at the beginning when he gives him the flute, and encourages him and tells him he can do it while also.. being Wit -Kaladin standing up amidst the darkness. -When Syl touched Kaladins face and told him his eyes were brown again, and they grabbed the spear together 1

Seabreeze Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Two of my favorite moments: odium finding shallan and co in the spiritual realm and saying something like “well well well there are rats in the walls” as his shadow encompasses everything Rayse meeting tanavast and saying: “always tanner to me “ sry I could not find the exact quotes Two of my favorite moments: odium finding shallan and co in the spiritual realm and saying something like “well well well there are rats in the walls” as his shadow encompasses everything Rayse meeting tanavast and saying: “always tanner to me “ sry I could not find the exact quotes 1
Vatsug Posted June 1 Posted June 1 (edited) For me, the strongest parts of the book by far was the stuff with Adolin. In particular, the scenes with Adolin fighting in Azimir. Also the scenes with Taln. Edited June 1 by Vatsug 1
StormlightSpinks Posted June 8 Posted June 8 New to the forum but had to weigh in on this. It’s so awesome to hear everyone’s favorite moments and it’s cool to hear many of mine overlapping with others favorite moments. The scene where Maya comes through for Adolin outside the throne room with Maya and the other deadeyes saying “We Stand Again” and Adolin saying “Unoathed! Arm up!” Literally had me tearing up listening to the Audiobook. The performance by the narrator Michael Kramer definitely made it hit harder. Tearing up while listening to the book at work. Definitely one of my favorite scenes in the entire book series. It definitely cements Adolin and Maya as one of my favorite relationships in the series. Piggybacking on the first moment the trial of Adolin at Lasting Integrity where Maya is on the stand and she reveals that the spren chose to break their oaths was so moving and one of my favorite moments. 1
