Autism/neurodivergence club

so, hello everyone. I was surfing the shard and i thought: wait, is there an autism/neurodivergence club? When i check, I didn’t find any. So, as an autistic person myself, i would like to found the autism/neurodivergence club. Talk about struggles, stories, anything you want! But with every other place in the shard, no hate, please.

Ye, i check the mental health club, but i figured that i should make one for all of us neurodivergent ppl specifically, becuase while mental health and neurodivergence are related, still different. But don’t get me wrong, the mental health club you made is great nonetheless.

so we are having so many issues with people not wanting to diagnose me

the person said, i “dont meet the social emotional requirements” to wich got translated to.

because you have friends and can somewhat socialize and know about emotions ur not autistic. *sigh*

My parents also didn’t want to diagnose me for awhile, but i finally got diagnosed like… nearly 6 years ago, i think? 

But yea, too many people think that if you have any social skills, you can’t be autistic.

Yeah.

i have social skills sorta

but at the same time

if i wanna order food or talk to a stranger i get all awkward and quiet and cant form words then panic and run away.

I have both autism and ADHD. It sucks. But we're all cousins! Anyway, I am too high functioning for useful help from the government, and I'm not neurotypical, so I'm not 'normal'. So I fall through the cracks. Ugh. I'm on like 5 waitlists, which I will be ineligible for by the time I turn 18. In almost 8 months. I'm not gonna get free money.  (There is ODSP (Ontario Disability Support Program), but it only pays CAD$1,368 or USD$941). People don't understand me. At least you guys probably get it, right? Poor time management, impulsivity, IEPs galore, yada yada yada. Anyway, back to you.

on my 504 i got this thing that allowes me to leave class. 5 minutes early cause hallways scare me

and esspacialy lunch lines

BUT THESE POEPLLE LEAVE BEFORE THAT AND TAKE UP THE LINES BEFORE THE BELL CAUSING PEOPLE WHO LEAVE EARLY TO BE CAUGHT IN THE LINES WHEN THE WHOLE POINT IS SO THEY DONT

That’s why I posted here - it seems useful and I don’t want people to forget it.
Anyway, I’m going to see if I can have my 504 back; they removed it because the teacher was already giving the accommodations needed. Unfortunately, this year my new teachers aren’t, so I’m having to comprehend discussion questions like “What is a myth you tell about yourself, and would you change it?”, and my teacher told me to “just try to answer it”. Grr… ADHD productivity levels are not making this any better, either.
