But tbh I never cared that much about my physical appearance. I have always thought to other things first.

Like, I'm generally pretty smart. I can grasp new notions somewhat easily, and apply them real well once I got them. In science especially. I still can't believe how much I had to learn, and how much I did learn, over those years.

This applies to other things too; I honestly love my ability to go on random rabbit holes about anything. I'll go check a physics constant on Wikipedia for an exercise, and next thing I know two hours have passed and I'm on the "Decline of the Maya civilization" page.

I am also a massive reader; I read pretty fast AND in 2 languages, which means that I'm starting to get pretty well read. I am getting better at evaluating what works and not in a story; I have even helped (for years!) to select books for a teen book prize. It's always a joy to get them all to read and do things with the books then (though I am a bit removed from that part of the project)

Music, too! I have played the clarinet for over half my life, and am also an okay singer (I think; I am able to sing pretty well and on tune, but never had any lessons and dont ask me what type of voice I have)

So yeah; I have many skills, take great joy in those and love that fact.

 

At least, that's how it used to be. Since a couple years, with the burnout creeping in, this all has become... erratic at best. I have often barely any energy to do any of that. All had been locked behind the fog that had filled my head.

I told you I never cared for my physical appearance, and the thing I took pride in was my skills and my sharp mind. So when that was gone, nothing was left.

 

There is one thing I discovered in that though, that I both love and hate.

I am stubborn. Way, way too stubborn for my own good. I'll keep going through everything until it becomes literally impossible to do so, and even then I'll try to make the extra push to make it good enough. Even if it ruins me. 

Easy to bruise, hard to break. I guess.

Physically, I like that i'm a little taller than my mother and I MAKE SURE SHE KNOWS IT. I have like a couple millimeters on her I also think my hair is rly pretty. It's very wavy and it's very nice when I put mousse and stuff in it. And I have really nice eyes. I have that on very good authority from my parents cuz they always tell me my eyes are pretty. I also like my face shape, and how I look so impish when I smile right because of my chin. I have a short torso and long legs like Echo and my favorite aunt, and I like my overall shape iykwim. I also like my hands when they're not all dry. They're kinda graceful, I think. Maybe. 

And then for nonphysical... dang. I'm generally pretty smart, and my brain has served me well in school. I'm a decent writer with a knack for characters (I credit @Kajsa partially for that  ) and I am very introspective. I love getting to the root of the character and seeing why they act the way they act. I'm a very instinctive writer that way--- I write a character and I may not even understand why they are how they are until later. Weird thing is, in never feels like justification. It always feels like. 'ohhh, so that's why she's usually mean but she's been nice for the last couple chapters'. The most fun thing is writing characters that aren't like me, but that I can understand through traits that we share. Besides all that, I really like my knack for instruments. I learn pretty quickly, which is really fun, and the same holds true for drawing. I also like that I seem to be likeable! I try to be likeable, and to help other people, and to make them not be lonely. Apparently it works, because people care about me which is really nice  .

I can easily move around in crowds and hire tall people to serve me and get stuff from high shelves. Also! Sure im look like a mix of girl and boy. But i can easily pretend to be either. I like my hair! It’s a beautiful color, and by the end of the day, the frizz turns into loose curls. I like my skin color too, I think it’s really a really satisfying shade of tan, and I like that it’s on the darker side of Southeast Asian skin tones. OH AND I LOVE MY SCARS. I don’t care that I’m covered in little splotches from bug bites I scratched too much. I think they’re pretty. I like being covered in them, even if they make other people concerned for me. I like my nails, they’re painted black right now. I painted them myself, and I always get comments on how perfect they are. I like my glasses, my face feels empty without them and they make my pimples basically invisible. I like being flat chested, it saves me from so many things that other girls in my class unfortunately face. I like how my voice changes depending on what I’m talking about, and how I have different accents that change accordingly. I like my eyes but not the color or the pattern, I like how I can portray emotions. If I want to feel happy, all I need to do is squint a tiny little bit, and literally put a filter over my eyes that make them look like I’m looking at something pretty which makes everything I look at pretty which makes me happy. Yay for micro expressions. I like how fast I type, it’s very satisfying to see my fingers move super quickly. I think this is longer than a paragraph is supposed to be lol

Great! I went for a bike ride. Then biked to the has station with my sister. We got candy and prime. Then came home and chilled.

Little trick: I didn't learn English in a class; I did it by reading. I would get English copies of my favourite books and read them sure by side with the English, and eventually I started reading them without the French version. It took some years before I first-read a book in English. Also, movies and YouTube and later the Shard.

I didn't do that for German, I just learned my lesson in class. And my German is terrible.
