While I’m happy to have Eza and Leon run into each other, I’ll note that it’ll be very hard to convince Eza to be at all friendly to Leon. Her hatred of hemalurgy and general mistrust will make it hard for her to ally with him unless he lies about his intentions convincingly enough or procures something extremely shiny. Since he’s a good manipulator he could probably talk her down to passive-aggressive instead of aggressive, but it ain’t gonna be easy. She just got over being betrayed by another radiant-hating criminal 

She could actually end up tailing Leon by mistaking him for someone else she meant to be following if that sounds good to you. A master thief would probably be pretty good at detecting another thief.

I mean, I’ll be posting Perses’ updated character sheet, but he’s currently viewing himself as above most people (I’ve labeled him as now an OP character). I think he would be fine with your character working for him, but he would probably find your services in a partnership lacking.

Currently his work partner is essentially a demon, so you’re in tough competition. We’ll talk more once I have my character sheet down, since then we’ll be operating on the same knowledge.

I’ll also add that two of my characters have a couple of Hemalurgists as a part of their backstory, so there’s some potential for character connections there as well. They could possibly even be part of the same group as the ones from Eza’s backstory. It seems like there’s some solid potential to have a good subplot with this, though, of course, we have to be careful not to let it take over from the main UFO plotline.

I can send you some info about the group from Eza’s backstory in a pm. Right now most of her relation to them revolves around a single guy, so if you end up wanting to connect your characters’ stuff to them feel free to add some lore to the group. The group is definitely less powerful than UFO (or can be changed to be less powerful than them for plot convenience if I am misinterpreting UFO’s power level).

Thanks for the reminder about not letting this take over the main plotline, I’ll be sure to keep that in mind.

just a quick clarification on plot would the story be about the UFO dealing with Perses or will it be dealing with some other threat? or have i compleatly misunderstood...

So UFO is kinda doing its own thing. The plot will mostly be in new Hallandren, and UFO will mostly being doing things there. Perses will probably make a showing, and obviously UFO doesn’t like Perses, but UFO has plans other than to deal with Perses.

What plans? Well, they’re a secret organization, and they got secret plans. The start of the era is going to involve some sort of leak going out that UFO exists, and that they are planning something in New Hallandren, but nobody knows what to expect.

though @Stormlightsong is kinda the ringleader for UFO stuff, so they would know best.

@Koloss17 is correct. UFO does not like Perses but does not plan to deal with him now unless he gets involved. I’m planning to have most of the action  done by UFO groups in New Hallandren (specifically the Idrian Resistance Society) and their plans should be unknown to those outside UFO. 

I will pm the full plan to those who make UFO characters when the era starts as to preserve the surprise.

@SpiritOfWrath, @Speeding Steelrunner, @Ookla the Irreplaceable, @Stormlightsong, @WhiteHairedDrifter, @Wits instant noodles I’m thinking of making the first post for era 8 sometime soon (like in the next few days). Obviously @BridgeBoi and@RoyalBeeMage Will soon hopefully be joining the fray, and so we should have a healthy cast of humans. My recommendation for y’all is to think about what would be in character for your character to be doing, and while my first post will be setting the scene and giving ideas of a plot, remember that this is a FFRP, which means that there is no hard coded plot. The plot is made by you guys, not me or anyone else. I’m here to facilitate and push things along, but y’all decide the direction. So feel free to talk amongst yourselves when it comes to any side plots or character explorations that you will be doing, and start scheming.

also @AonEne I do kinda need my character approved to start the next era . I will also be rolling out a second character sometime soon, but having my main character situated would be nice. No rush, but just a gentle poke.

Would it be possible to have a place with any easy to read list of characters? I’ve been trying to look for characters that mine could potentially collaborate with, but it’s kind of hard since the majority of this thread is feedback and revisions.

Could we have a thread for the era where people post their characters after they get approved? That way we could just see all the characters without any additional clutter.

I can manage without it of course, but I think it would be helpful.

Here is mine, if that helps.

Name: Tulen Hental

Appearance: Drab. Has a generally jittery air, short. Mousy look, spectacles. Looks solely due to his drab state older, tired. Though he is 30, he looks 40 or so. He has blonde hair, brown eyes. 

Affiliations: UFO

Personality: Hates those who use investiture, especially Awakeners. Is against all forms of investiture, including awakened technology. He is a generally depressing character, and is often hateful. Slow to trust, but very smart.

Concept: Revengeful Drab Scientist

Motivation (Short & long term goal): Wishes to pull down investiture use, is one of the most radical of UFO. Motivated by revenge, but also wishes that what happened to him doesn’t happen to anyone else. Is haunted by his shorter lifespan, so he wants to make a difference while he can. 

Merits: MiM: 1) He has a general knowledge of the known form of investiture, able to identify them with relative ease 2) He takes notes with relative ease, using his own system 3) Notices little details NM: 1) he is very smart 2) is okay at the making of modern-ish weapons or traps MaM: Is a high up scientist in UFO, has access to resources from them. The main thing he does with this is create anti-investiture weapons.

Flaws: Is overly hateful of investiture, especially Awakeners. He has a shortened life span from being a Drab, so his weak in physical combat, and he also, though he notices small things when able, has lowered senses. 

Relationships (Eg. Family and Friends): He doesn’t have a family. His friends are those in UFO.

Home Planet: Nalthis

Current Residence: I’ll look at the locations, decide this. Imma need to re-edit this. (Is there any homebase of UFO? If so, then there)

Backstory: Grew up in poverty in Nalthis. He was one of the devout, willingly gave his Breath to a Returned. For years, he believed that he had made a sacrifice for the good of society, and took pride in it. However, he accidentally slipped into the Alleys after some time. He appeared in the Mistwarrens (those were the slums, if I remember correctly.), where he spent some time continuing in poverty. He saved up money, food, etc to eventually go venture to the Nalthian section of the Alleys, but was accosted by a Returned, who took what little he had, and also taunted him by telling him of his reduced life span, and then left in the street. This enraged him, and he dedicated his shorter life to making things “fairer” and to rid the Alleys of their dependence on investiture. He at some point joined UFO to do this, becoming an Anti-Investiture scientist.

Loose ends (What is unfinished in their life?): Wants to, maybe not kill all invested beings, but really get rid of their dependency on them and bring his “justice” to those he believes to be corrupt or evil.

I can definitely make that happen. It would be a hair more work on my end, but I can make it work. Can't guarantee I'll be super speedy with it, but its basically just creating a list of approved characters and who they belong to. It was done in Era 6, but if it is useful (and it seems it is), then I can make it work for era 8.

Btw once the era actually starts going, I’m going to be deleting this thread, so the gradual shift to using the collaboration thread for this would be good.

yeah, he will be finding out abt UFO and going to there as soon as I have time to write an intro post
