+Oltux72 he/him Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 In the last chapters we have learned that Shallan wants to strike at the Ghostbloods in Urithiru, thinking that she has a chance to surprise them. Given the revelation about Ala's loyalty, she is mistaken. So Mraize has been warned. How will he react? He could either run or set a trap. I would say that he does the former, but is there an alternative? Against the Sibling an attack on the Radiants within Urithiru is bound to fail. Does Mraize know about the capabilities of the Sibling? Does he have a counter? How would the Sibling react to an Aviar or a copper cloud? Or even wilder, will Mraize strike first? 3

Master Silver Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 Mraize... Mraize will die like any other hound that hunts a lioness. Also I think this Ghostblood lose end could be tied up very quickly and neatly. As long as Shallan confides in Navani, the Sibling will locate the Ghostbloods in a few minutes and in a couple of hours they will all be dead. 3

I suspect mraize has already killed the other light weaver. Shallan we’ll see how stupid it was to think that she could just easily overcome the Ghost bloods and the end before to work out some sort of compromise with them by offering Lord Kelsier some sort of deal perhaps with the help of hoid what you are suggesting is impossible. Shallan hasn’t even seen any of the ghost bloods save for two. And she has no idea what identity they are using now. Or their locations except for that maybe perhaps it’s somewhere within the tower. Also not a guarantee. She has nothing. She could tell the sibling that could help them locate them. Edited September 25, 2024 by bmcclure7 1
Palindrome Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 If Mraize is in the tower, what can he do to a fourth ideal radiant full of towerlight? His best option is to hide or try to lure her out of the tower. 3

We don’t know what agents or powers he has access to, so it’s hard to predict what he will do. Wit says that her family is safe and so we can assume that they won’t be in immediate target. But if I were him and I wanted to hide from shallan then I would move to destroy her team kill every other light Weaver, who hasn’t said the fourth ideal. There are alamancer who can drain someone of Stormlight if you happen to use one and got the element of surprise you could kill a knight radiant. It would be dangerous, but it’s possible. There are also some twin born and compounders who might be able to pull off the feat again so long as they have the element of surprise. hell if he has a steel compound under his command, he might be able to kill even a fourth ideal radiant 1

I don't think that we can, since the Ghostbloods were forewarned about the move and could have had them and Hoid under observation. In fact, her brothers are the most logical target, because there are enough of them to both demonstrate that Mraize is serious and still leave a lot of room for escalation, to blackmail her. I mean, his best play is to let Shallan do the hard work of getting the gem from Spiritual Realm and then take BAM off her hands. As an aside - shouldn't Hoid have known that Seons can be deceptive? As to the Lightweavers, I don't think that anyone in Urithiru could be killed without the Sibling becoming aware. I am pretty sure that the wonderful steward with all the bath scents is a Ghostblood agent, though. We also know from WaT publisher book description that Adolin is not yet in immediate danger from the Ghostbloods in Urithiru and from TLM that Shallan won't be able to deal with Iyatil, though she might indeed kill Mraize. Agree - this is consistent with Mraize/Ghostbloods MO so far. e.g. most recently, getting Shallan to go to Kalak and do the heavy lifting of either trapping him, or establishing enough trust with him so that Felt and Ala could gain access. (I appreciate this brushes over the question of how much the agendas of individual GBs align.) My question would be who is the Felt-equivalent in whichever team Shallan pulls together for her BAM quest. Alternatively, I don't think Mraize will hurt Shallan's family just to exact some revenge, but I can see him re-taking some of them hostage so Shallan feels forced to give BAM to him. 1
The Stick Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 I wouldn't take Mraize holding Raysium off the table just yet, depending on how much he dealt with Raboniel off screen, although that makes him a beacon to Sibling. However, I would say that he will probably do as stated above, and try to make Shallan do all the hard work. The man is not an idiot, and he will make all his decisions based only on his mission. I say he has already left the tower, and has a force of Ghostbloods reinforcements trying to get through Shadesmar to help him.
