Wit drew his sword, but he didn't know what was going on. It was more a reflex than an actual thought.

Ma'tani dashed away from Roy and towards the third witch-hunter. With a deft stroke, she split the wooden club in half, then rammed him in the back of the head with her sword's pommel to knock him out.

roy smiled when he saw ma'tani's reaction. he was expecting it. it got the intended reaction out of the hunters though.

"It wasn't magic. It was a firearm. The people of Shenai have found a way to make a black powder that explodes violently when ignited. They've used it to make weapons that launch a metal ball at incredible speeds. Fast enough to kill someone." She turned back to Rye. "Though I've never seen on that small. Or that precise."
