It´s a good thought but if we get really technical than Nighthound´s gifting ability and his ability to take control over others are two seperate things. His gifting is just that gifting, every one could in theory use them freely, although a lack of control might lead to broken bones.

The act of taking control on the other hand hijacks the motory function of his victim, leaving their mind alone, he simply need a bit of his other powers in them as a catalyst. So no, overpowering the powers isn´t posible in general, I supposse that a strong will could free itself with enough time but in that case the streght would also return to Nighthound, one could say that he has a safety in place. Not even Bemington Lingfield could change that.

 

I do think that this Hemington fellow's hatred is fierce enough that he'd do better with Nighthound's abilities. If my hunch on the hatred-Epic correlation is correct, then Nemington could probably use a gifted ability with far greater proficiency than Sam or Revolution.

 

(I really like the idea of seeing Nighthound's gifter abilities used a little more freely. In Remington's case, it could also be really cool for character development.)

Actually, didn't we agree in the first Question thread that his next in-game death should be from eating an exploding cupcake? Maybe he could have a stroke and anger Doctor Funtimes, who hands him an exploding cupcake, which explodes and throws him off the edge of the MoNA the moment he starts to take a bite.

I thought that Lightwards was remarkably laid back about the whole matter, considering. He even promised not to feed him to the raptors.

 

If Funtimes retaliated, he'd pretty much just grumble, remove himself from whatever she transformed, and then take out his frustration on some random civilians later. He's already too scared of her to physically abuse her pets on a regular basis--there are some situations, however, that just demand a good punching.

If Lightwards discovered he was merely an antagonistic figure in a forum RP, he would suffer a brief bout of existential crisis before trying to escape into the real world to kill us all.

 

He really is a despicable person, and it was fun to see him called out on his "pet" terminology. Funtimes has a ruthless streak, but she's probably the only decent Epic in the RP  besides Voidgaze.

The only bad aspect I could think of is that it Made me imagine NH bitting Funtimes Face of, if she pulled the same collar grab on him. (Honestly, given that Lightwards new rush of recruits will entail another high Epic a point where having her death would be the saver option shouldn't be that far of.)

Which is why she wouldn't try that same move on Nighthound. Lightwards is wrapped around her finger and she knows it, but Nighthound is for Nighthound and she knows that too. 

 

If he tried to have her killed, she'd teleport a safe distance away and enter defensive mode. There are a dozen different ways she can think to kill him, and since he can resurrect, she'd try them all.

 

With great difficulty and many annoying autocorrect moments. ("No, phone, I wanted to have Remington call Lightwards an upstart, not tell him to upchuck!")

Primary Power: Quota can dampen all positive emotions to the point that they essentially vanish. With those who have traumatic experiences in their pasts, he is especially dangerous, as this dampening of joy, peace, happiness, etc. will cause their most traumatic memories to rise to the surface. Whether or not he can dampen negative emotions is unknown, as he has never tried. 

 

Secondary Power: Low- to mid-range empathy. He can sense strong emotions and uses that as a basis for the targets he chooses.

So I've put the seeds of the minor epic alliance into the RP now, Zip and Refill will be taking applications soon, so feel free to make up the most minor/random powers ever and throw them in there if Twi approves, they'll also be on the lookout for scientists and researchers so if anyone wants a human character who can play as advisor to them they're welcome.

 I really like the idea of epics rebelling against Epics.
