Emeralis00 she/her Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 i dunno, that would just encourage people to make make spammy threads I suppose.
SOM1else he/him Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 (edited) You say the description of the 'Dedicated' award has a clue, Windrunner? Then I'm dumber than I thought... I think it might be posting a jumbo wall of text that 1stRR sees, it says it is for impressing an admin and see is the only admin to have given it making me think it has to be her you impress. the picture is a guy pushing a boulder up a hill with blah blah blah blah blah blah... written in the background making me think it is about a making a really long post. KChan she/her Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Posting a gigantic wall of unrelieved text is not a good way to impress any of the admins. Just saying. Remember, folks: every time you forget to use a line break where you need one, a spren dies! Think of the spren, everybody. Think of the spren. 2
Windrunner he/him Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Also, yes, there is a clue, but it's in the same place as the thing you get the award for doing, so it's not too terribly helpful. I was actually referring to something on the award description page. There's actually two hints there, (not spelled out) but it was something I noticed in hindsight, so its pretty difficult to pick up on. I know I didn't notice it until later. On an unrelated note, I like the theory award idea. I figure if I keep guessing over the next 30 or so years this cosmere thing is going on, I'll eventually get something right.
Arcanist Lupus he/him Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 An award for creating a long lasting thread (10 pages or so). An award for being mentioned on Brandon's website. An award for creating awesome paraphernalia (like the Alethi font, or the soulcaster) and/or art An award (as has already been said) for getting a theory right An award for coming back after a long absence An award for not leaving for a really long time An award for handing out cookies for new members and/or generally welcoming them to the forum.
Chaos he/him Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 A lot of these are good ideas. We'll definitely have to get on that.
KChan she/her Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Quick thought on the welcoming one, though. It should probably be for giving out X amount of cookies/welcome messages, since otherwise there's not much of a challenge in getting it.

It should probably be for giving out X amount of cookies/welcome messages, since otherwise there's not much of a challenge in getting it. or 'how many people you've warned about spikes before the staff get there' I know its a futile gesture, but it makes me feel better, at least trying to warn them
Arcanist Lupus he/him Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 (edited) An award for having lots of awards! An award for reading all of Brandon's published books and/or Cosmere books. Edited March 6, 2012 by Sir Read-a-Lot
dhalagirl she/her Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Or an award for the best Cosmere related pun? (like my awesome Journey joke) 1
Eerongal he/him Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Or an award for the best Cosmere related pun? (like my awesome Journey joke) So if it's an award for the BEST cosmere related pun, does that mean we take the award away from the current holder when a better one comes along?
Emeralis00 she/her Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 So if it's an award for the BEST cosmere related pun, does that mean we take the award away from the current holder when a better one comes along? You get the holder of an outdated award award.
Zas678 he/him Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 So the Sliver award? For someone who used to hold all or most of an award? 1
Emeralis00 she/her Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 So the Sliver award? For someone who used to hold all or most of an award? yes.
Rubix he/him Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 An award for reading all of Brandon's published books and/or Cosmere books. Sadly, this would be impractical because every award would have to be gotten rid of every time a new book came out. An award for each book, however would be much more practical.
Chaos he/him Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Sadly, this would be impractical because every award would have to be gotten rid of every time a new book came out. An award for each book, however would be much more practical. The sheer amount of oversight, however (since we would need to award every award manually), would not be the best though.
Joe ST he/him Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Sadly, this would be impractical because every award would have to be gotten rid of every time a new book came out. An award for each book, however would be much more practical. That would mean a lot of award giving by the staff.
Ironeyes Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 I hereby submit this link as a blatant attempt to get that Rubix award.
Rubix he/him Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 *BOOMING OVERLORD VOICE* Testing, testing, is this thing on? Award condition states that I had to be watching. Sorry to say I was not. Attempt failed. That is all. /Voice
Shivertongue he/him Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I should totally get the "Returning" award, for coming back after a long absence. I've also had a theory confirmed, so that award is mine too. I also demand an Anti-Theorist award, for those of us who deliberately contribute nothing to theories of any importance. And a waffle award, for making me waffles.
Link Von Kelsier Harvey he/him Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Theory Confirmed award for me too, please.
Tulir he/him Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Well, the one theory I thought had a chance to be true and still could be, got buried, but I hope I'm right. It is here.
lyssie95 she/her Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 There should definitely be a chatroom award, for the way awesome cool people that spend a ridiculous amount of time during the day and/or early hours of the morning participating in the amazing discussions in the chatroom. ....I don't have any ulterior motives for proposing this 1
