Eerongal he/him Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 Can a heal check be used to identify diseases? AFAIK there isn't a particular knowledge skill that would fit, and it seems like something that the heal skill should be able to do, but... That's the way I've always played it, since there's no particular rule for identifying one. But you would need physical access to the people for examination and such to determine it 100%, though you could make a guess just given the perceived symptoms (coughing is likely to be too vague to pinpoint a particular disease)
Satsuoni he/him Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Ok, at this point languages may come into play (I know I am going to switch between them sometimes), so for now, I am going to use <> for Orc, {} for Draconic, [] for Abyssal, && for infernal (If i can remember the designations myself )

Satsuoni he/him Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Well, sure, but that will get tedious if I have to switch several times in one phrase. I'll probably use both depending on the situation.
Tulir he/him Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 We need to have a language besides Common that we all can converse in. Currently, all of us except Umieri speak Draconic, so I think you should learn Draconic if/when you have the chance. This would helP by not giving away plans.

IIRC, its a pidgin of common that mongrel folk only use around other races to confuse/talk over their heads. Or something like Illumian, how likely are you to ever meet on of THEM?

We could also develop our own language if we really really need to keep things a secret, but if we are going to put this much effort into secret communication, we might as well try to get telepathy.
Satsuoni he/him Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Telepathy is good, too. Although why bother? It is not like our plans are secret, or something (kill, loot, burn, crush, torture - what else does adventurer do?)

Satsuoni he/him Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Well, yeah. We can speak in shorthand, like this : (looking at the village) : Me : KLB? (kill, loot, then burn) Umier : NK. CT - L, NB (not kill. capture and torture, then loot according to the information gained. Leave the houses unburned) In dungeon , like now: Me: Turjan, ChB door. We: PK: (Trujan check that door. If it is ok, open it by whatever means necessary(Break). Others prepare to kill (be ready, just in case))

For later levels, there is a spell called "Telepathic Bond," which can be made permanent, though one would have to be at least 9th level to cast it (and 13th to make it permanent, via the Permanency spell.)
Satsuoni he/him Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Poke, poke. Anybody still alive out there?
Emeralis00 she/her Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 yes. Blame Calc and end of year crunch.
Satsuoni he/him Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 damnation yOU CalcCuLuS! Wait, when does your school year end, anyways? It is start of the year in Japan, still mid-second semester in Russia.

It is start of the year in Japan, still mid-second semester in Russia. June 8(ish), but I also have to deal with college stuff so I am really busy. Unfortunately, my high school still uses the agrarian based calender system for education. Grrr. Especially since I missed a day of school due to aforementioned college stuff and it through off my entire week. I am still busy trying to catch up.
Eerongal he/him Posted April 11, 2012 Author Posted April 11, 2012 Yeah, most US schools end in may/June or so and start in august/September (it depends on the particular district) so right now it's just getting into the end of the year/finals part of classes. If nothing happens in the next day or two, i'm going to have turjan head forward and open the door. I just wanted to give people plenty of time to speak up if they wanted to do anything before i make the NPC force progress
Tulir he/him Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Erongal, what is the program you use for the board? I'm starting one of these online D&D at school because we don't have time to meet together, so what is the program? I would really like to know.

Maptool, there's also a torrent file (not illegal/bootlegged, just using the torrent system for distribution) somewhere floating around for it that contains like 2 GB of tokens and tiles, I have that and have just been using random ones. It also has options for you to host a server and actually host the game live (has chat, dice rolling and things like that in it), it's a really good program, but it can be a bit difficult to learn, as there aren't terribly good tutorials out there for it that I have found.
Tulir he/him Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Ok, thanks. Where is the door that we are about to open on the map because I am going to move but I don't where it is right now.

Satsuoni he/him Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 (edited) I mock an arrow and move to F7 where I can still see the door. Seynir "Striax, stop making faces at your arrow, please, and get ready." Edited April 13, 2012 by Satsuoni
Tulir he/him Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Seynir "Striax, stop making faces at your arrow, please, and get ready." *facepalm* I changed it. Stupid keyboard, but it was a funny sentence.
Satsuoni he/him Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Everybody makes mistakes And few typos are actually funny, and our adventure already had two. Anyhow, we are in position, do it is time for someone ( with more hit points) to get that door :\
Emeralis00 she/her Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Eero, have you read Museum of Thieves? That description sounds an awful lot like the description of The Devil's Kitchen.
