Lerac paused to think. "That's normally not something within my abilities."

He nodded and hurried that direction.

She hesitated, then walked after him.

Following a total stranger to his secret basement, she thought anxiously. Nothing suspicious about that at all.

"Yes! Going!" she said, speeding up.

He led her to a large, dark hole in the ground a la Encanto— no floor in sight. 

“Okay,” he said. “You’re gonna think I’m crazy. It takes a hot minute to get used to. But what you’re gonna do is step forward and spin, like…” he mined a little person on the edge of his hand stepping off and rotating down to walk on the bottom of his hand. “Like that. So you’re still walking on the floor, just… the other side of the floor. I’ll go first and catch you.”

"That's unusual. But it could mean..." Lerac reached out and touched her arm. She felt a flood of warmth, and a feeling of restoration. TAAron felt it too, through their bond, and his eyes widened.

She closed her eyes and felt her muscles relax. "Scud. What did you do?"

Yep.

It seemed that Lerac wasn't able to respond. He seemed vacant and confused. TAAron realized that it reminded him of Haly's disposition when she had been lacking the connection.

He squirmed. "In... in theory. But I haven't tried falling into the ground yet... look. I'll show you how it works." He stepped up to the hole, took a deep breath, and fell forward. He pivoted around a single point and stumbled onto the bottom end of the floor. 

"You could try and crawl, if you prefer," he said. "But I feel like you should understand how it works."
