How would your character define stable magic? Because his life magic is not always very controlled, case in point the flowers he involuntarily grew. He was born with life magic, albeit less powerful

Stable magic does not mean controlled, it just means there is a counterpart that deals with the after effects

She gasped, seemingly from pain. Still flickering and phasing, she reined it back in. 

She put her other hand over the flowers. They turned gray, and as they did, a glowing yellow outline appeared over her body. She put the death into the flowers, and they instantly withered, uncovering Lerac.

He remained still. His mind was still somewhere else, slowly processing several times more pain than it would take to leave any normal person permanently scarred.

It seemed like hours passed for Quintessence. Hours into minutes, minutes into seconds, seconds into moments, moments into an instant. 

The magic it has absorbed was caustic. 

Light and dark wanted to coexist. The Quintessence wanted to prove the universe wrong. Now, something threatened it's existence.

The combination force undid itself, and dark and light were expelled at high speeds in opposite directions. They wanted to be together. Now, they were both dying. 

The darkness reached out for the light, but by then, the light was already diminished beyond repair. It had taken most of the energy.

There was a moment- no, an instant- where dark and light recombined into one, a final time, before fate took the light entirely and darkness was left alone, flickering in despair.

The darkness weeped, crying for a higher existence it once had. In the tears it shed lay fire, and fire would consume everything, for nothing mattered more. A true force of cleansing, one that brought light together with dark. The fire spread quickly, with conviction and urgency. It too had a motive, for it was what the light and dark wanted, carried out by darkness. The fire will consume the world in time, if left untended.

The world would be in unity during the last instant when it melted.

roy walked in and grabbed the light just as it faded out of existence, saturation himself with it. he closed his eyes and felt the light washing through him. he smiled as he suppressed the light deep within. it would not do to have darkness knowing that light was still alive though contained within a semi-mortal form. roy put up a shield around the fire in an attempt to slow down the fire. he knew that it would not stop the fire. only slow it down. 

roy turned towards the others in the corridor. "is everyone alright? what is that thing? also do any of you know where thaidakar is I was following him when I got here?"

"Damm it! wont you just stop?" roy asked letting a small amount of the light that was suffusing his very essence show. "how about you take on someone your own size!" roy shouted before punching darkness in where he guessed the gut would be.
