He groans, smiling. "Why- are you helping me-" he breathes through the pain. "Give me something for the pain... please... morphine would be nice..."

Pic frowned. "I'm alive now," he responded. "That's more than I thought would happen after I missed."

Hey it wasn't my fault! The glove box's seal was propped open by debris I coudn't see, and it almost imploded cause the vaccum was on. I didn't blow up the base that day.
OH there is also the flooding story. That was a fun summer.

“Anyways, you should be mostly healed now. Take it easy.”

She walked over to Pic and put her hands on his hair, as that was the only part of him that she could easily tell wasn’t burnt, injured, or his face. She started healing the burns.

“I’m sorry,” Tal murmured. He was sitting on a chair, staring into nothing. I hurt so many people…

“Why didn’t you kill me?” Finally, emotion entered her voice. It was anger.

“What?” Tal looked up, confused. “Why didn’t I…I don’t know. It wasn’t me, I’m not going to kill you, I pro—” A faint whisper fluttered through his mind.

Don’t make promises you can’t keep.

Ace’s words, from a time he wished he could forget. “I won’t.”

“You will, eventually,” she said confidently. “I’m not leaving until you do.”

“Of course I do.”

“You deserve to live,” Tal said, meeting her eyes. “Whatever your mind is telling you, I promise it isn’t true.” Promises you can’t keep…Ace’s voice again.

“Oh, man, a lot happened to you.”

Her pupils were dots surrounded by a circle. On those circles, equally spaced apart were three triangles. As she looked up and down his body, those triangles rotated clockwise.
