She didn't yet take his hand again. "What about you? Are you okay?"

Mike let his hand rest at his side. "Physically? Yeah. Mentally? Pretty shaken up. I'm just glad you aren't hurt. And I'm really sorry you got roped into all of my...family problems."

*sigh* welp, here goes nothing.

Somewhere, Aora awakened. The wind howled in her ears. She was almost completely numb, and when she opened her eyes she found herself partially buried under a snowdrift. Shifting her head to look around, she saw only jagged boulders covered with more snow. As she pulled her limbs free and carefully sat up, she discovered her skin was a pale blue color, and her hands wouldn't move. She pressed herself against the vertical face of a nearby boulder and stumbled upright, trying to catch her balance. Unsure of what else to do, she set off to find help; if there was any help at all.

It's so cold...

"...Do you need anything?"

"Just someone to be with." He smiles at Erin and reaches his hand out again.

They pulled away slightly. "I... I just need a bit of time. I'm really sorry."

A sad smile appears on Mike's face. "It's okay...I understand. Is there anything I can do for you?"

"Can you tell me something that he wouldn't know? For peace of mind, I guess?"

"Ummm...I can't heal everything. My powers have some...weaknesses that nobody but me know about."

"Oh. Well, I meant something I would also know. So I can be sure."

"You saved my life," he responds, his voice barely even a whisper.

She nodded with a slight smile. "We saved each other's."

After a moment of quiet Mike takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly. "So. What now?"

"I'm hungry. You?"

He hadn't realized it, but he was famished. "Yeah, I'm starving. Should we go back into town and try to find some food?"

"Yeah." They took a last look at the freezing river, then walked with him back toward the town.

Aora heard people talking. She stumbled towards the sound and saw a river with a few figures standing near, walking away.

She gasped and collapsed on the ground behind them.

"C-cold..." she said weakly.

Mike is about to follow them when he hears something behind him. Why can't he just leave us in pea- he thinks, before realizing that the man from earlier had not in fact followed them and that someone else was on the ground in the snow.

"Umm...Erin...?"

Arranis jumps, seeing the blue person drop before him. "What the hell" he runs over to the person, drinking in some stromlight that came from the magic that hung in the air. He picks the person up feeling for a pulse and lashes himself towards the other two people. 'Do you guys know where a healer is?"

Erin turned around and gaped. "Who... Why?"

Erin nodded, moving to look at the fallen person. "Mike is. Quick, she must be dying! Help her!"

Mike stands frozen for a moment, then shivers slightly and rushes to the figures side. He lays a hand on its shoulder and the healing starts.

Aora felt a hand on her shoulder, and slowly relaxed. Breathing became easier, and she felt feeling return to her hands and feet.

"Th-thank you," she whispered sleepily. She was still cold, but... it was a different kind of cold. A comforting, friendly kind, rather than a biting kind. She positioned her hands beneath her and cautiously sat up.

"Thank you," she said again to the man standing above her. "How did you do that?"

It seemed to Aona that he was avoiding the question, but she was grateful nonetheless. Perhaps she would find out later.

She looked to the other two. Maybe one of them could tell her?

"Who are you?" she asked them, standing wobbly. Her black clothing was in tatters, shredded through the arms and back. What a shame...
