YKYANW your friend asks you what your favorite Star Wars ship is and you very confidently say "Delta 7B Aethersprite" (you know, the Jedi one) and then realize (after she explains it to you) that she meant romantic ship, not spaceship

 couldn't be me.....

YKYANW you are less worried about your teacher seeing that you are playing games and more worried about your classmates seeing that the games you play are chess and sudoku

Posted

YKYAN when you regularly use D&D terms in relation to everyday life--eg. "I really failed my Charisma check there."

YKYANW ur school is having an author call with Neal Shusterman, and you ask him “excluding the Thunderhead, who in Scythe would do the best at Jeopardy?”

And then he says “I think that’s the best question I’ve even been asked” and said “Probably Scythe Faraday. Scythe Goddard would get mad and glean [whoever runs jeopardy he said a name I just forgot it]”

And then all the teachers and the principal started freaking out and it was wild

Interesting. Honestly, I'd have figured Curie as best, but I guess Faraday makes sense

This has probably been done here before, but YKYANW you explain everything in terms of D&D stats, scores, skills, and DCs. "That's just a 2 foot jump, that's like a DC 5"

I do this.

YKYANW you randomly quote obscure lines from books the people you're talking too haven't read and grin to yourself

OR

when you don't get common pop culture references but can explain IN DETAIL the magic system of a random fantasy book

OR

trying to figure out the god system for your dnd campaign and writing a fairy tale instead
