Not totally. Dalinar said himself he spent long enough trying to get everyone to act honorably by example, he would begin to make them. He then sent Adolin to fighting shardbearers so once he had most of the shards, he could then make them listen, and give the shards out to who he decided. Hoid stated in another lifetime Dalinar would be considered a tyrant. As to finally on board with the way things are done, is the politicking and maneuvering Alethi society expects of you. Much like how Jasnah was acting in her past view section. It is why even when Sadeus blantantly tried to kill Dalinar, the only thing the other highprinces thought was how poor form it was that Sadeus didn't succeed. To the other highprinces it isn't who lives best, it is who gets the best toys/most power. It probably won't happen, but I could totally see Navani and Jasnah at the very least suggesting it, or doing it anyway while Dalinar opposes it. One could also argue that they could convince Dalinar that it would help keep everyone united. Just like how Dalinar didn't confront Sadeus about his betrayal because it would mean civil war, the Kholin family wouldn't push the matter to prevent fracturing. Dalinar has seen the consequences of half measures. Now with the voidbringers a reality, can't really take time for dissent amongst each other. Must be unified against a common enemy at any cost.

Dalinar cannot ignore the affair not can he buried it and still keep his reputation intact. Making his son duel to win shards was one thing, but murdering a highprince is another one. The other may not be above assassination, they still would not get their hands dirty. Adolin murdered Sadeas, in a fist fight, with a knife, in a dark tunnel, was does this tell to the others?

That Dalinar Kohlin, aka the Blackthorn, is back into the "game" and all his talk of him being better than them was just wind. Now, not only is he playing, he is willing to send his son as a henchman to take care of competition. Ialai has warned Sadeas about Adolin, she has told him to be careful, because "this boy is a tool". Now, everyone will take Adolin for Dalinar's tool. Folllow what he says, walk the line, or he'll send the young Kohlin to take you out, you know the one who defeated 4 shardsbearers?

Dalinar just cannot ignore the murder nor can he let Navani or Jasnah bury the story. If he protects Adolin, he makes it look as if he actually ordered the murder, as if he agrees. One way or another, Dalinar will have to find a way to publicly punish Adolin or risk ruining what is left of his newly built reputation. He may even lose all the ground he has managed to win recently.

I think he has no choice. He must sacrifice his son or risk losing Alethkar. How, is another story. I would personally love if the Kohlins all end up as outlaws, but it probably won't happened.

Everyone seems to think people will find out Adolin did it.

I'm pretty sure he will tell no one and if anyone does find out I'm thinking it will be a few books down the line.

Brandon said their would be ramifications for Adolin, so I doubt the issue will lay uncovered for many more books. Sadeas's murder is a turning point for Adolin as a character and where he goes from there will determine his whole future. As an author, you just do not get one of your main character to commit a horrible crime only to let it rest for a few thousand pages.

Albeit, Jordan did that, but it was poor writing on his part and pure negligence towards his fans who scrambled endlessly trying to solve the thing.

I doubt Brandon would do this. It is then safe to assume Adolin will be uncovered. Whereas he will be found guilty by evidences he failed to hide properly or whereas he will simply confess as guilt threatens to overcome him, we do not know. I honestly think it will be a combination of both. He did a poor job of cleaning the crime's scene and his alibi is weak. He has also been consistently been described as a mentally direct person who does not hide his emotions all that well. He is not a liar nor is he able to wear someone's else mask as Shallan does. He'll break down at some point and tell. Who will get the confession? Will it be Renarin who reads him so well? Dalinar who Adolin will undoubtedly be traumatized to have failed? Or Shallan to who he seems to have issues hiding his thoughts? Or even Kaladin who would most likely understand as he went trough the same thing with Amaram? Someone will, so yes it is safe to assume his deed will become common knowledge, if not publicly, at least in the Kohlin's household.

Well I know what WON'T be a challenge anymore. Once the radiants get a handle on shardplate, Adolin won't have to worry about soiling his armor anymore! He can just think the armor away and back!
