He chuckled and gave the coin a flip, heads. "I once stole a priceless diamond studded bracelet off of a passing noblewoman without her noticing, it sold for a lot."

He flipped the coin again. Heads

"How come everyone here is an outlaw?" He shook his head in mock disappointment. "I thought you were going to tell me about the coin."

"Oh did I not make that clear? I guess you should have paid more attention to the result of the coin." He smirked in satisfaction. "to answer your question about outlaws, laws just haven't ever agreed with me."

"You didn't just turn into a penguin." He flipped the coin, tails. "Abihal can play the flute." heads "I hoped you paid attention"

"But I--- ah. I think I get it."

"Good job, you're not as hopelessly incompetent as you first appear."

"I'm not going to tell you that. I'd much rather sit here and make more poisons, hmm?

Ignoring the rest of them, Jay sighs over dramatically. "But poison is so...traditional! Where I'm from, we--" he cuts off. "Well, there are much funner ways than poison."

Susan slipped through the door, skirted the room, and settled onto the floor with her back against the wall near the fireplace. There were too many new people here.

"More fun than poison? Please, do tell."

“Well, you know how it is,” Jay said evasively. “Cu—that is, family secrets. I wouldn’t want to give them away if I have to kill you later.”

As talking happened, food began to be brought in, and places on the table.

Emerik noticed the food, and cautiously slipped a piece of food from a platter. He flipped his coin, it landed on heads. Satisfied he took a bite

"That's a shame. I guess that I'll have to slip a few choice toxins in your drink, hmm?"

Jay frowned like a petulant child. “What kind of idiot do you think I am?” Then he grinned. “Although, if you find being poisoned attractive, I might be willing to let some things slide…”

"I think that you're the kind of idiot that doesn't keep as good of an eye as he should on his wine glass, don't I? Yes, I do."

oh nvm this happened

Aolicei hesitated at first, but allowed herself a heaping helping. If she was going to be in the King's hall, then she was going to eat her fill - if she didn't stand a chance winning the throne, then might as well make the time here worth its while.

Anyone may approach her. She won't run away or anything.

Emerik noticed her eating her fill and walked over to greet her. "Hi, I'm Emerik," He said, "What do you think this whole thing is about?"

Aolicei swallowed a bite of some really well-cooked chicken. Really, it was quite delicious. "Hello, Emerik. I'm assuming what this whole thing is about is that the lot of us are going to be at each other's throats before long."

"Unfortunately, that seems to be the most likely outcome, so we might as well do exactly the opposite," he said with a grin. He rolled his coin over his fingers

Despite her best efforts, she found herself eyeing his coin. "You seem quite chipper. You come to death parties often?"

He chuckled, "No, the only other one I went to, I was disguised as one of the other boring nobles there and stole all of the valuables I could get away with, all while pretending to be a downright gentleman." He smiled wistfully at the memory
