NerdyAarakocra They/Them Posted December 2, 2022 Author Posted December 2, 2022 This is because Soulmagic is end-neutral. To get patience, wakefulness, or knowledge, you must steal them from other souls.
EmulatonStromenkiin he/him Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 This is put a cap on how powerful a person could become.
NerdyAarakocra They/Them Posted December 2, 2022 Author Posted December 2, 2022 Souls dissipate when their bearer dies. However, some linger on as ghosts. Anyone want to start on our next magic system sometime soon?
The Unknown Medallion he/him Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 Sure. Let's make like three before we do the aforementioned roleplay. Ghosts are completely invisible, but some soulmages can sense their presence and use them to fuel all kinds of magic.
NerdyAarakocra They/Them Posted December 2, 2022 Author Posted December 2, 2022 Sure. Next post, start off our new magic system. And so, with the powers of the soul at their command, Soulmages are a force to be reckoned with
The Bookwyrm he/him Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 (edited) In this next magic system, the magic is powered by pain. Edited December 2, 2022 by Ookla the Perpetual
NerdyAarakocra They/Them Posted December 2, 2022 Author Posted December 2, 2022 (edited) Some mages steal the pain of others, while some use their own pain. Hoo boy, this is gonna be dark. Edited December 2, 2022 by Ookla the Nerdy 1
The Wandering Wizard he/him Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 The greater the pain, the greater things you can do.
Quivil Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 (edited) However, if the pain results in death during or shortly after the ritual, the magic will backfire on the caster, possibly resulting in the temporary or permanent loss of the caster's ability to use magic. The more pain involved in the ritual, the longer the lack of magic. It is a delicate balance. Edited December 3, 2022 by Ookla the Implosion
NerdyAarakocra They/Them Posted December 3, 2022 Author Posted December 3, 2022 Other emotions can be used, but pain is the most powerful.
EmulatonStromenkiin he/him Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Because this is emotive magic, it is end positive, as there is a theoreticasl endless amount of power accessible.
Edema Rue she/her Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 Many of the most powerful Casters, as they are called, have access to some sort of dungeons. They perform great magic feats, using torture chambers specifically prepared to cause as much pain as possible without killing the victims. Using the pain of others means they need a lot more of it, though. Sorry if that was too long or too dark for this happy thread of magic scholars.
NerdyAarakocra They/Them Posted December 4, 2022 Author Posted December 4, 2022 Different emotions Are good at different things Love can heal and grow.
The Unknown Medallion he/him Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 Though since love and contentment are the opposites of pain, they are the weakest of the emotionest. After pain, the next strongest is misery, which is good at manipulating light.
NerdyAarakocra They/Them Posted December 4, 2022 Author Posted December 4, 2022 In order to swap Emotions, therefore power Emojis are used
The Unknown Medallion he/him Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 What does that mean? Like, at all.

The Unknown Medallion he/him Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 (edited) Through mastery of these ancient runes, the legendary Emoji, one can perfect the harnessing of emotions. With enough knowledge, one can make the blow of a whip into a burst of fire that can melt rock. Edited December 5, 2022 by Ookla the Unknown
EmulatonStromenkiin he/him Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Small changes require less power to enact.
Edema Rue she/her Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 For example, even the most basic of Casters know how to change from Pain to Misery and back again.
NerdyAarakocra They/Them Posted December 6, 2022 Author Posted December 6, 2022 Examples of spells Include conjuring fire Or creating ice.
EmulatonStromenkiin he/him Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Changing materials from one state to another was the easiest spell, requiring the least amount of power.
NerdyAarakocra They/Them Posted December 9, 2022 Author Posted December 9, 2022 This magic also Can be inscribed using runes For delayed effects.
EmulatonStromenkiin he/him Posted December 10, 2022 Posted December 10, 2022 The delay depends on the will of the writer, who can also put conditions on inscribed effects that have to happen before the spell is triggered.
