  1. He couldn't have only appeared after Honor died since Eshonai says how he was once a friend to the listeners then betrayed them like all the other spren. I think the only way it would be possible that he was after honor would be that there were multiple betrayals from the spren. I believe we have a WoB that there was always a storm on Roshar but it wasn't only magical. So not sure what that means for the stormfather. We know at least one bondsmith that is bonded with the Stormfather. What the rest bond is up to question though.
  2. The latter oath I think is most likely Stonewards. Fits their herald too well.
  3. I think it may do with why Shin view stones as holy and only want soulcast goods. The land doesn't replenish itself aside from the highstorms dropping crem so any kind of large scale mining or land mass destruction would be irreversible. The voidbringers seem to have a lot of abilities surrounding large scale removal of land mass(Decayform/Thunderclast).
  4. The first ideal doesn't actually seem to matter. Seems to me more an unlocking than an actual continuous link like the other ideals.
  5. Hoid mentions in WoR about a "woman around his age" and how she never liked him(Or they never got along can't remember). Suggests Cultivation was always a she. Unless Hoid is talking about someone else or Cultivation was a shemale
  6. Aren't there a ton more abilities that we haven't seen yet since people still think there are only 16 metals instead of the 50 odd there really is? Or am I completely mental
  7. I have a question. If the deathrattles are from Moelach wouldn't it be safer to assume they aren't actually the "true" future or past but instead perversions of what could happen in such a way that the unmade/Oduim wants? Just feels odd that there's an unmade seemingly giving the Diagram information that is used against Odium. Feels very suspect to me.
  8. Just a note I think Artform comes from creationspren and not cryptics. Here's the song: Remember cryptics are actually liespren so I think a cryptic bond with listener may produce something rather different.
  9. I believe he was just using Vin/Kel as a reference point about how everyone has Allomancy potential and how snapping relates(I think it was this). He didn't use Elend due to the way he got his powers I think. It's not saying that Vin/kel have greatest strength since that is obviously not true, merely that they are on a similar level and the majority of the difference comes from Vin being smarter in her use of power.I'll try find the WoB but it's proving hard :<
  10. Vin was indeed Preservations "Champion". He knew that he couldn't kill Ruin himself due to that shard changing his nature so instead he came up with a plan that utilized his precognition to eventually have a new person take up the shard and kill Ruin. I remember reading about why he picked Vin but now I can't find the source. I don't know if Vin's allomancy was actually stronger than Kelsiers, the reason she could do some things he couldn't was because of the earring she wore. WoB has stated that they both had "100%" allomancy potential so I think the differences might have been more due to talent and application. Have to remember there were a lot of incorrect information about allomancy that Kelsier believed. Vin on the other hand seemed to take inconsistencies in stride and use them to her advantage instead of questioning. Also Vin snapped I think from birth(Could be wrong), so she's most likely been using allomancy most of her life without knowing any "rules". Vin honestly just seemed smarter than any other allomancer to date. She used her powers in smart ways instead of being constrained by rules or perceptions and even figured out the horse shoe trick which no one in 1000 years figured out to do when it's merely an extension on the coin trick every allomancer seems to know. Warbreaker spoilers
  11. I thought Lerasium changes the sDNA if you aren't a allomancer to give you allomancy. Wouldn't Harmony have done the same thing to Spook to give him his Mistborn powers so why would he be reduced like Vin/Kel? The latter information is good to know, I really want to see what a Mistborn with full knowledge of all the Metals(Not just 16) could do.
  12. I finally got around to reading Alloy of Law which I've been putting off since reading a Mistborn book without Vin or a descended of Vin felt too wrong for me. Anyway it was rather enjoyable but the mythical nature of Mistborns really bugged me. I've been trying to find any info about this but the best I found was the wiki suggesting it has to do with dilution which doesn't sound right. Did Harmony change Allomancy in a way to remove any potential for Mistborns? I know he changed Spook to be a mistborn which should have been the same as Elend or the original Allomancers which means there is at least one pure enough line that could produce Mistborns. The nature of the kidnappings suggest that at least one group of people believe there can be mistborns(I assume that's why they only kidnap women from Spook's line). They also talk about Vin but don't seem to believe she was actually a mistborn either or do they just not believe she was real? It was rather strange reading from a Twinborns perspective, seeing the protaganists struggle to deal with a Coinshot/Lurcher where as Vin would deal with a whole group of them with ease. The cosmere implications of not having Mistborns seem huge to me. I don't think we have come across a magic system yet that offers as much destructive potential was Vin did and she did that with barely any knowledge of Allomancy. I really hope this isn't the case and we do see more Mistborn using all the magic has to offer.
  13. Lift uses "starvin' " as a curse. Seems unique to her though
  14. I don't think we have that much contradictory information. The confusion I believe comes from the different between the Knights Radiant as an organisation and the Knights Radiant as a way to control Nahel bonding. Nohadon could have very well formed the oaths required for the bonding where as Ishi'Elin formed the organisation known as Knights Radiant. The one doesn't contradict the other.
  15. Definitely makes sense to me. Jasnah seems more like Dalinar's daughter than her own father from what we have seen. The two have this trust that we haven't seen Jasnah have with anyone else. She might have been the one to help him go to the nightwatcher even.
  16. As a side topic does anyone else feel that Szeth punishment doesn't really fit what we know of the Shin people?
  17. Wyndle specifically mentions that some spren are better at manifesting themselves than others so I think that's more about the nature of the spren themselves than any "locking"
  18. The physical locking did nothing. What "injured" Pattern was her denying what/who she is and lying to herself about everything. Cryptics enjoy lies but to them lies and truths are different. A good lie is something that contains truth. What she did was against all that which is why he transitions back to nothingness for a long time. It's the exact same thing that Kal does to Syl, the only difference is that Pattern remained in that state for a much longer time so it took him longer to regain his Wit.
  19. I've been rereading Lift's interlude and something caught my eye He might seem emotionless almost all the time but he definitely does have emotions so I don't think it's something supernatural.
  20. While in bad taste the joke is a little poetic. Elantris does deal a lot with the issues surrounding religion gone bad.
  21. Oh man that's a good catch. Wasn't he also the one that scouted the gateway?
  22. Well Peter is just being realistic. The reality might be somewhere inbetween their two ideas.
  23. The two main problems is that in Dalinar's vision he saw a helmet vanish on will and Shardplate seems to mold to it's user over time. It doesn't completely change but it does alter slightly much like shardblades(dead ones) to a slightly greater extent it seems. Honestly I don't know what shardplates are, I had a theory that they were an manipulation of stormlight and that's why they not require gems to function since the users themselves can't give the stormlight needed to keep it's form.
  24. What if the capacity has nothing to do with the intelligence/compassion? Well I don't mean nothing but instead what if the Nightwatcher gave the world what it needed to bond against Odium. Dalinar's visions always talk about uniting them which I took as not only the radiants but all the sentient races on Roshar. There will always be war as long as the Listerners are viewed as lesser(Spren no longer bonding with them willingly?) and the Amians hated/fear. So what if through Taravangians extreme actions the Radiants/People realize they need to change and not become like that. Odium wouldn't even have a conduit to fight humanity if the Listerners were at peace with them. I don't see Sanderson as a kind of guy where the ends justify the means which is exactly what Taravangian is but at the same time using him as a stepping stone to achieve something greater sounds very plausible. Sanderson also talks about how he liked the concept of TLR but couldn't really build him well enough. Taravangian seems perfect for that. That would mean Taravangian's boon is that he'll save the world, his curse is that he'll become hated/die/forsake who he is(He seemed like a nice guy before all this) to achieve it.
  25. Stick ultimate antagonist? The world where all are stick is without strife. Only happiness remains
