Vigilance? Justice? Righteous Indignation? Edit: whoa I just got really excited about Vigilance. Modern day Roshar, is actually a lot like DC comics. But with surgebinders, or what ever the Odium + Honor equivalent will be!

Walter was troubled. He was so bad, Sadeas couldn't have him in the guard anymore, so he put him on a bridge crew. The first bridge run, the crew got hit by tons of enemy fire. The bridge went down right on Walter. Good thing though, because Sadeas' archers were able to shield themselves behind the bridge. A young archer, on his first gem run. He was scared! A grizzled old archer says, "I'm on you side, when times are rough, and pain is all around. Like a bridge over troubled Walter."

[GAME] If you were a Mistborn in real life...
Cstryon replied to Steel's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Assuming I could afford it (and the tricks you could pull to get quick money are endless if the metal arts aren't common knowledge) I'd earn a bunch of money working overtime, doing side jobs, or side show... And eventually buy large cubes of metals. These will be my stockpiles. When I fill a metalmind to max, I'll dump it all into one of these cubes. Eventually if I know I will need to use a bunch of one of my minds, I'll just load up before I leave the house! -
I'd spend 45.00 for a surprise early release!

What determines access to magic systems
Cstryon replied to shawnhargreaves's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Well even if the circumstances aren't obviously traumatic, the very act of getting spiked at a proper bind point is damaging the spirit web. But I guess it might not be traumatic enough for the whole spirit web to snap... -
What determines access to magic systems
Cstryon replied to shawnhargreaves's topic in Cosmere Discussion
The damage to the spirt Web happens when the spike is put in the specific bind point. So the spirit Web wouldn't be damaged if the spike wasn't put in the proper place. I wonder... Regular Scadrian, gets spiked giving them some kind of metal art. Since they are Scadrian, and had not snapped before being spiked, could this be enough to have them snap? The result is gaining the power from the spike, and becoming what ever misting or ferring they should have been? -
I think Marsh got more because Ruin knew Marsh would fight. Ruin needed more control. Also, making him the champion could RUIN relationships that he had with the good guys.

Ok, so some of these seem easy and obvious. Placement aside, let's think of the type of spikes, and what they give. A few powers we know he has for sure, and which spikes they should be: Feruchemical gold - From a gold spike Allomantic gold - allowing for him to compound health, not sure what spike that would be. Gold is Internal Temporal (maybe gold spikes allow for taking both Feruchemical gold, and Allomantic gold. Assuming they are big enough, now he also has his goldminds) Allomantic atium - Only one that seems to work is the Atium spike. Allomantic duralumin - Aluminum Spike Now I didn't list all of them, we need to figure out the ones that make him what he his, Healing, Imortal. Could a Bronze spike take Allomantic atium, allowing for his Atium spike to give him Feruchemical atium? Maybe he doesn't compound health, considering through out the whole Trilogy, he wasn't fighting all the time. And I doubt he has need for comfort. Maybe he is constantly storing health to some degree. He stops storing to do tasks that needs him to not be under the weather, and only taps when he needs to heal. I'm not too inclined to think this, but if he doesn't have Allomantic gold, that could leave one of the Gold spikes to possibly take Feruchemical atium. Another thing to consider. 22 spikes up to the time of the Final Ascension. This means, if we are missing powers, he could have gained a few more from the left over spikes when Vin killed the rest of the Inquisitors. And used them after Sazed ascended.

100,000 years... That makes Hoid pretty old, and that's without considering the possibility that some time passed after the shattering, and the first desolation. I like this theory though. But I don't think Odium just took the shard. The quote from the letter says that they made him what he his. So I suspect after the first shard/shards were taken from Adonalsium, this started a chain reaction, and Adonalsium began to shatter. They forced or convinced Rayse to take up Odium. I think if this happened over time, the first shards to go would have been Dominion and Devotion. Maybe Rayse shattered them, because he blamed them for starting the shattering, thus leading to him having the burden of Odium.

Could Allomantic mettles be treated as drugs?
Cstryon replied to High prince of geeks's topic in Mistborn
I bet the recipient could heal from a spike, the same way you can heal from a shardblade. But repairing the damage from the spike might undo the power you were granted. Meaning you leave the donor with their spirt Web ripped up, without anyone gaining. I think the donor wouldn't be able to heal, because that part of their spirit Web was ripped off. If they heal at all, it probably wouldn't be woven the same, meaning they would be whole, but will not be the same. -
I might be wrong, it's been a while since my last Mistborn read through. But I got the impression that Preservation gave the Terris the Prophecy of the Hero of Ages. Preservation knew that the well would need to be taken up and the power would need to be released. We know that at least some Shards can see into the future. Also we know Ruin changed some things, to take advantage of the people that knew the Prophecy, manipulating Alendi, and Vin (among others) so that his will, instead of Preservation's would come about. I ddon't think, at least for the prophesy of the Hero, that it came from any magic system, I'm pretty sure it came straight from Preservation to the Terris people early in their history.

I couldn't point out any time that he used it. But considering Ruins purpose of adding spikes, and how useful Feruchemical iron would be to those purposes, process of elimination, I'm almost certain he has Feruchemical iron. Plus after his he nearly got beat by Sazed when they fought in WoA, I could see them learning from that mistake and adding Feruchemical iron.

Which Shardworld would you most like to live on?
Cstryon replied to TheShogun's topic in General Brandon Discussion
AoL Scadrial, as long as I had some powers, hopefully a ferring of sorts. Otherwise, Sel while Raoden rules. -
If necrosil chains work, could you make a circle, that actually goes back and increases the first necrosil burst? A circle of five, one starts, and (with perfect timing and no moment wasted) leads to five bursting one? Would ones burst than doubly increase two's? With all of them only bursting once, could we have a nearly infinite gain? And than have five break the circle and touch the slider standing in the middle? Making this mobile is going to be difficult, but assuming this works, that bubble would be multiplied like crazy.

For physical attributes, I could see the need for strength, maybe intelligence. Though Marsh was already pretty smart. We know that hemalurgy causes the user to not be quite human. I also suspected using Allomantic pewter actually helped build a strong physique. Ham was muscular, and I always pictured Vin not being scrawny, after using pewter for a while. So he's using pewter a lot, building on his already imposing figure, I see him being very strong without the need for a strength spike. Would a strength spike actually make a visible change in appearance?

I think, if you get a few torso spikes, the eye spikes, and something to bulge in the back for the linchpin, you'd be good. Big coat, and tattoo that some how integrated the allomantic bronze symbol. You got yourself a Marsh.
-
Jeez, that picture really makes him creepy. Please Marsh, be so kind and put on a trench coat and hood?

Coppermind compounding ..... Perfect mind copies? The archivist stores complete memories in such a short time that there is little room for time to pass and he misses a moment. I see a light pole fall, and happen to hit a dog, I store that memory fast enough that I still see the end result and know what happened? I don't know, sounds like time travel now...

Kel doesn't like Hoid, because he says Hoid as a little twerp that's meddling in the universe, but could be directing his actions more usefully. Hoid doesn't like Kel because he sees a psychopath that was so single minded that he nearly helped get the world destroyed (indirectly, but still did.). That's just speculation. Of course, it could just be pride, and each are to much alike to get along. I bet I'd really get annoyed with myself.

Atium for Ruin, good point people... He was fairly crippled. So this tells me Odium is being held back, Cultivation hasn't revealed any action (that we know of, she might not even have much interest right now either), and Endowment definitely endowed a lot, and wouldn't need to interfere because the events might not be affecting her at all. And Harmony already showed he can do a lot, but doesn't intervene because, well, his Sazed and cares about people making choices for themselves. He'll probably intervene if his "harmony" on Scadrial, and maybe the Cosmere later, is threatened.

Iron pull, compound weight, might rip your hand off pulling your sword out. Compound speed and weight, might as well be a horizontal meteor smash. Just a ccouple..,

This is a great list, when I'm not on my cell, I think I'll update the Op with it.

I got to stop sleeping intoxicated, it makes me not wake up ready to discuss. HHere's a try! Ok, I think both is happening, inhancing the senses, and expanding your mind to take it in.

Atium does seem to have been limited in it's uses. After all, it's current uses, are pretty useful (seeing the future, immortality). There is a WoB out there, that says Larasium could do other things if the user knew what they were doing. So why not Atium? They are the bodies of shards after all. I think this question could be applied to all metals. We see aluminum doing some weird stuff.
