Tineyes, Windwhisperers and the 9+ Physical Senses.
Cstryon replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Mistborn
I think that the five senses are obvious for a Tineye, but the other senses are there. I think it could be lumped in to that sense of awareness and clarity when burning tin. As far as storing for windwhisperers, I guess they'd have to know they can store it.- 24 replies

I didn't look through the whole thread, but I had a thought. We know in AoL that mistborn are considered mythological (at least to Wax) and we saw no evidence of full feruchemists. But there are twinborn. Now obviously it's getting rare to be born a ferring or a misting, let alone twinborn. But just like before the final ascension, wouldn't the genetic possibility still be there? So even though it's exceedingly rare, wouldn't we have the potential of a "fullborn"? Unless Sazed just made it impossible.

Speaking of snapping... I took an iron supplement, and then stubbed my toe. Next thing I know I accidently pulled myself into the fridge.

In the same way we get twinborn, I see no reason why someone born a mistborn couldn't also be a ferring, or even full feruchemist. It would be crazy rare though!

The Physiology of Holding Stormlight
Cstryon replied to Fifth of Daybreak's topic in Stormlight Archive
Well, with what my Level 3 crisis facility is equipped to handle, you can expect a call from me, and a full repprt 27 year old male, with 4 years of daily constant stormlight abuse. Presents with hypotension, shock like symptoms, and DTS ideations. -
"Real Life" Allomancy or How the second Trilogy might work
Cstryon replied to Pathfinder's topic in Mistborn
I have a feeling that gold heals the damage done by the infection rather than allowing them to create antibodies (super antibodies) though I guess that's feasible. CCould you imagine there being some allomantic pimp, whoa , compounding something to give them control, has a whole crew of workers, performing task at the pimps whim? If I could compound something that makes me, unchallenged, and have a stockpile of metals. There would be so many dependent on me! Oh man, nnow I can see a side story, that's not too relate to the main story, that's pretty much an allomantic, mob story. Companies might gain an official monopoly, but I see it more likely a mob boss having the real control. -
Hoid... May very well be the "bad guy". The Seventeenth Shard is hunting him down because of it. But even being a bad guy, he may have empathy, which would explain the tears in his eyes to watch Roshar burn. Maybe he wants to stop Odium, because without other big bad bosses being introduced yet, Odium is the bad guy.... And bad guys don't always get along. Than again, the Yolish, or Hoid himself, could just have some skewed ideas of what is good vs evil.

Do Shardholders instantly become aware of the cosmere?
Cstryon replied to ruffblade027's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I'd have to listen to the end of HoA again, but I feel like I got the impression that he became aware fairly quick. If so it might have something to do with his copperminds, and that he's holding 2 shards... But my memory on the specifics of what he knows is rusty. I'll listen again and get back to you guys after I see whether he mentioned an awareness of more than just Scadrial. Also, unless the name came from Hoid, or another world hopper, why would his copperminds have the name Adolnasium? Someone in the ancient religions got that name from somewhere. -

"Real Life" Allomancy or How the second Trilogy might work
Cstryon replied to Pathfinder's topic in Mistborn
I think, even though aluminum is common, it wouldn't be cheap considering how more useful it would be on Scadrial. Law Enforcement for allomancy related crimes, shielding from emotional allomancy, public safety regarding coinshots and lurchers flying around. I could see it becoming a controlled material, or even companies getting monopolies on it. -
The Physiology of Holding Stormlight
Cstryon replied to Fifth of Daybreak's topic in Stormlight Archive
Argument aside. Since I'm more familiar with behavioral health/substance abuse, I started thinking what addiction and physical dependence could do to a surgebinder. Much like an Allomantic savant, having enough stormlight to sustain constant use, I could see some physiological changes. The heart swells, becoming much larger, and more than a normal user, has more volume moved with every beat. The blood vessels dilate to much larger to compensate for the higher stroke volume. The healing factor increases (Think Deadpool.). All five senses become intense, but do to the healing factor, is not as painful as Tin Savantism. Meaning, no need for the eye covers, and better tolerance to temperature. Tactile tasks become dangerous, meaning broken bottles, and less graceful moves, at least until the mental speed effects increase to make the user graceful enough to compensate. Being cut off leads to real physical and psychological withdrawal. Depression, numbness, poor heart function. Even though the healing factor would fix the physical damage, being suddenly cut off might not allow the body and mind to adjust back to remembering how to function normal. The extreme exhaustion would lead to passing out, and possibly coma. Physical therapy, psychiatric treatment and counseling would be required to rehabilitate the stormlight addict. This is all speculation using my experience with stimulant, and opiate addicts, plus what we saw with Spooks use, and what happens when he was cut off. Considering the changes the body would likely make, even with the healing, I bet the mental shock that would come from being cut off could lead to no will to live. This causing the body to shut down, and likely death from the psychological stress. Thoughts? Trevor, have you had many calls to behavioral health crisis emergencies? -
