    Welcome to the 17th Shard, Timemagetim! As far as joining guilds is concerned, it really depends on your preferences. We at Lords of Chaos don't try to recruit in the introductory threads because we know that those drawn to unlimited power will join us eventually. Where are you from? I'd love to put your pin on the 17th Sharder Map. :-) On books, definitely go for Alloy of Law if you enjoyed the Cosmere books. Also give his novellas a shot - Emperor's Soul, Legion, Shadows for Silence in the Forest of Hell. They're awesome.

    I used to be a coffee drinker, but I needed to cut down on caffeine so I started drinking tea. I drink all sorts. For daily breakfast, either Four Red Fruits or Earl Gray. If I had a party the night before, I make a pot of Jasmine or Peppermint. Tea joints in the Philippines are very common, and we have a choice of Japanese, Korean, or Taiwanese milk and bubble tea refreshments. You'll see them every 100 meters here. I also have lots of Indian friends and their tea is really good, so they bring me some whenever they come and visit. I like my tea hot, with honey or brown sugar. No milk. And how much is enough? I say just keep 'em coming when I'm working.

Typical. *Hands the plate of rice to a kitchen staff nearby* That toy panda that was given to me is voracious and needs rice all the time. This will help. If you pput poison in it, I doubt if it will affect that panda. --- And who said anything about a peace? You have a bounty on your head, Scholar. And we have yet to settle that. I would do so now, but you have a duel with Mailliw, and I want to see how that goes first.

    Totally agree with you on this, Tamzin. I never lend a signed book. As much as possible I don't read it either. I just buy a mass market or trade paperback copy that I can read over and over. Don't worry, Atilium, time will come when you can afford to buy all the books you want. You just have to be patient. It also helps to let people know your favorite authors so that they give books to you as gifts.

    Mistress Contrary appeared to hand Ashiok the revised NC contract. "Remember, Ashiok, in times of war, the Wafflesworn will choose sides, and only give a limited ration to Newcago." She eyes the drinking table, and asks Breathtaker, "A drinking duel with beer? I much prefer single malt whisky." She produces a bottle from her apron and sets it down the soulcast table. "Use this. If you're drink dueling with a friend of Chaos, this is a better brew." And she leaves to go back to her kitchen crew.

    This is so effective. I use the Pomodoro Technique myelf and instead of an online timer, I use an old fashioned kitchen timer. Work for 25 minutes, break for 5, then another 25 minute chunk. I also try to eliminate as many distractions as possible (like 17th, but it's really hard, so I use another computer to write which I disconnect from the net when I'm about to write.

    Ah, well, yeah, most software comes at a price. I'm an open source enthusiast myself, but I do understand the value of paying for something.

    What do you mean I have to pay? Well, I normally just use a Chromebook so Photoshop is out of the question, so I use Pixlr Editor. Was that what you meant?

She commands a staff of punished Novices, Accepted and Aes Sedai, which she controls through the long charmed necklace and belt that she has all time. The charms are all cour'souvras. Not much is known about her, except that she delights in waffle concoctions tailored specifically for Sharders, and she has once been declared a Goddess of Murder. She wears white, keeps her apron clean and tidy, and goes crazy at the sight of blood. She joined Lords of Chaos in the Great Avatar War, is speculated to have flirted with the Lord Chaos and Survived the experience. My only request is for you to allow me to assign some of my slaves as part of your Honor Guard.     That was funny. Thanks Tempus. I'm always suspicious of cats. And even if Leftinch and I are archenemies, in this we agree. We don't look good as cats. (I know I have to post it in the Joke Profile Pics thread) The pics you've done so far are pretty cool, Tempus. I wish I'll have one made by you that is not cat related. I tried to create one for myself, but it always comes out all chaotic.
