Mid-Range Game 10: Divided Loyalties
Elbereth replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The problem with this is that for all we know the scan was messed with by an Elsecaller. So one of you is lying, obviously, but lying about your scan results, not about the actual alignment of Clanky. That's the problem. Just because you scanned him as Loyal, PK, doesn't mean he actually was. I think it makes more sense if he was Loyal, but that doesn't mean I necessarily trust you more than Lopen.- 937 replies

Mid-Range Game 10: Divided Loyalties
Elbereth replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
And you believed him. You believed a Diagrammist about what he said in thread.Um... No. Okay. While I don't really object your specific suggestions, I don't think that it's good to suggest targets for Assassins in general. It kind of defeats the point. No Diagrammist will target someone if an Assassin is likely to be watching. Thus I'll target whoever I want, without paying too much attention to what anyone says. Also, I'm curious why you would want me to target polking. I mean, if he's a Surgeon (which seems likely, although it occurs to me that he could also be a sixth Assassin, which would be interesting but unlikely), he might get targets, but it's likely to be Ada anyway, especially now that you've suggested him for an Assassin target.I'm also not sure why you put a vote on Ada again, after he was just saved. It's not that he's an Explorer who can only save himself every other cycle. It would have looked different in the writeup. Of course, we'll have the same problem if we go after any other Diagrammist (except the Surgeon/Edgedancer (assuming they have one), which is a bonus), but if they're protected we'll know the identity of another possible Diagrammist, or they could let that Diagrammist die. Win either way, basically. I see. That does explain it adequately, and it seems we owe you our thanks for keeping Bort alive, though he wasn't actually helpful during that time, unfortunately. And that second bit is something I haven't thought of, and is at least a possibility for double-tapping Diagrammists even without any cooks left. I don't really know what to say to this. It does strike me as a little bit rushed, like Hellscythe's attempt to convince us to lynch you in LG15, but I'm not really sure. What's irritating me is that we can't even go back to old cycles and try to tell what side Clanky was on, because the scan could be Elsecalled anyway. I'm more inclined to believe you, however, since Ada said last cycle that Clanky was a Diagrammist, and regardless of whether that's true (he did say that his scans were affected by the traitor Elsecaller), it does match up with your scan.Doesn't mean I'm not suspicious, though. (emphasis mine)Well, Adavantos has stated that he knows everybody's roles. However, I still agree. Don't claim, and don't discuss who you're going to protect with anyone. Protections, like Assassin scans, are the kind of thing that can't be discussed in thread. And yes, I'm female. Don't worry, though. I have the opposite problem with Creccio, who I always write as a girl. Don't sweat it! EDIT: Just realized I forgot to vote. I think I'll place a vote on Twei for now, since I'm the only one who knows for certain she's lying (or there are six assassins). May put it on Lopen (EDIT 2: Or PK) later, or Adavantos (if anyone actually figures out a way to kill him successfully [i'm really going to enjoy reading the evil doc when this is done...]). EDIT 2: Added PK to list of people I may vote for later.- 937 replies

Mid-Range Game 10: Divided Loyalties
Elbereth replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
(I just wrote up this whole post and deleted it by mistake, so if I seem to skip over something, ask and I'll clarify). Yeah, I know my activity levels aren't suspicious. But I have been less active recently, and I want to get back to normal, so I'm choosing to believe that the more I pos the less suspicious I'll be. And hey, maybe it's true! The more I say, the more you can tell about my opinions and stuff, and so you can tell if I seem Village or not more accurately.I know that polking isn't a Cook now, since Twei's scan. But originally I thought he might be a Cook, and even after I found out he wasn't, there was probably still some residutal suspicion. I was going to suggest that Stink and PK are suspect for having been protected by Clanky, but I don't know if that's true or not any more. I'm inclined to trust Lopen's scan, actually, given that 1) he's probably innocent in my book, and 2) PK and Stink seem like reasonable protects for a Village Surgeon/Edgedancer. C2 we were still discussing Stink's reveal and how it was dangerous to have a revealed Runner, and C3 was when PK came under heavy suspicion and then claimed Scholar. So I'm more willing to believe Clanky was good. Plus Adavantos is still alive, of course. Hmph. We need to find that Edgedancer/Surgeon if we're going to get anywhere. Alternatively, the Diagrammists have a Lightweaver and they know of a Surgeon (since Adavantos apparently knows everyone, this is plausible), and they're just redirecting the Surgeon's protects. ...That's not a comfortable thought. I would suggest that the Surgeons not protect anyone and we try to lynch Adavantos again, but that just leaves the Diagrammists free reign, with the possibility of still not killing Adavantos. I don't know what to do about that. Oh, sorry, I forgot to scan anyone last night. I've already put in an order for today, so that even if I don't change it to anyone better later on in the cycle, I still get a result.- 937 replies

Anniversary Game 2: Return of the Koloss
Elbereth replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
El turned and closed the door behind her, and set down her heavy bag with a grateful sigh. "I'm back!" she called, getting a muffled response from Kassien, who was somehere in the back. El wanted to sink into a chair, but she had to sort out all of the plants she'd collected first. "Fresh arrowroot and rosemary, some fennel, as many nightbane mushrooms as I could find..." she muttered to herself, trying to take her mind off what she'd seen as she walked back through the town. The palisade was completely gone, burnt to little more than ashes. And everyone was looking suspiciously at everyone else, walking by furtively or even arguing openly in the streets. El shivered, and forced herself back to sorting out plants. Anything but the thought of her town, the place she loved, the only place she had ever been, destroyed by the koloss. Or worse, destroyed from within. Though you have since explained this as more of gut feelings, I'm still somewhat suspicious that it's just for reactions. I just wanted to note that trying to create discussion is not necessarily an indicator of being Loyal. (see Adavantos in MR10, for example- Diagrammist who revealed specifically to create discussion, among other things)Kind of on topic, I think Mark is Loyal, because of how strongly he's protecting HS. On the other hand, this does not make me suspect Hellscythe any less. Much of that is gut, but there is one concrete reason. That being: Hellscythe is being generally less aggressive. He has been getting better over time, but there seems to have been something of a steeper curve this game than usual, to my thinking. That indicates to me help from fellow eliminators. There have been a few other things that irked me, I think, but that's the main one that stood out. If that's not the case, Hellscythe, then my compliments! -
Mid-Range Game 10: Divided Loyalties
Elbereth replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I am returned! And I seem to have accrued a good deal of suspicion in my absence. While I think the real reason for that is partly the claim and partly trying to be more assertive, I'm choosing to believe that suspicion is inversely proportional to activity level. Thus, activity! I should hopefully also be much less distracted, which is a bonus. Okay. I am indeed claiming Assassin, not contact with one. My scan results:C1: Polking targeted Maill C2: Clanky targeted Stink C3: Clanky targeted PK (this was after he claimed Scholar) C4: No one targeted Aonar C5: Creccio targeted Creccio C6: No one targeted Adavantos (this was directly after the roleclaim) C7: forgot to put in order C8: No one targeted PK C9: Seonid targeted Adavantos You can see why I said Clanky is almost certainly a protective role. Note that I didn't say he wasn't a Diagrammist. If he does turn out to be, I'd suspect PK. Seonid, do you have an explanation for targeting Ada? I'll add that I'm suspicious of Twei for obvious reasons, but I don't have enough faith in role distribution to immediately vote for her. Ok. The second part of that is a good point, which I didn't think of. But I wasn't really voting for polking on suspicion that he was a diagrammist. I was voting for him partly based on inactivity, and partly because I thought he was the cook who had the bad taste to go after Mail. That makes him more of a wild card than someone actually helpful regardless of alignment, to my thinking. Also, I made a typo when I said D2. I meant D1, obviously.I don't think there's anything else that jumps to mind. Oh, I'm Bort's superior, and he hasn't responded to PMs since the 23rd. I was going to tell Ripple not to protect me, but too late, I guess. That's about it. Lopen, did that answer your questions?- 937 replies

Mid-Range Game 10: Divided Loyalties
Elbereth replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Hey, I'm here! Not for long, though. Assume I won't be on again for at least two more days. I might be, but it's not likely. Just a few thoughts. I can confirm that Clanky is very likely a protective role (I'm currently in contact with an Assassin (or maybe I am the assassin ), since he targeted Stink and PK in consecutive cycles. There are other possibilities, but that seems the most likely. Good point. The explanation is basically that I wanted to put in a vote before I went, and I couldn't really think of anyone else I was suspicious of at that point in the cycle. That's not an amazing explanation, I know. I was also rather frazzled at the time, as the hours immediately before a trip tend to be. Also, se #2 below.Other things: 1. Adavantos- You are having far too much fun. 2. The other thing I think is worth sharing from the Assassin I'm in contact with is this: Polking targeted Maill D2, making me think he was the cook (not knowing that he had targeted PK the next day), because he seemed like the sort of person who might be likely to target Mail without realizing that everyone was saying not to. This was also part of the reason I voted for him last cycle. 3. For a vote this cycle, I think I'm going to place one on Twei as well. I may not be around to retract it, unfortunately, if more information becomes available, but hopefully if that's the case everyone else will, at which point one vote won't matter. 4. Since Adavantos seems like he's going to be around next cycle, I'll do a scanvote as well. How about Creccio? That's about it for the moment. See you eventually!- 937 replies

Mid-Range Game 10: Divided Loyalties

Dropping in to say that I'll be unexpectedly away for the next few days, in all likelihood. I may have wifi for brief periods of time, but likely not long enough to actually post. Sorry, and see you all in a few days. EDIT: I think I'll also place a vote on Polking again, since as I stated previously he hasn't posted a single time. I'll retract if anyone has spoken with him in a PM or seen an action of his (assuming I get on again, which is unlikely, unfortunately).- 937 replies

Anniversary Game 2: Return of the Koloss
Elbereth replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Dropping in to say that I'll likely be unexpectedly away for the next few days. There may be a couple of times when I'm on if hotels have wifi, but in general expect my absence. El sighed. Four had already gone to sleep, and even Kassien had returned from the meeting that took him away for the latter part of the day. He returned only once, with such a grim expression that El hadn't dared ask what was going on. But he was asleep now, too, and El had just finished double-checking the locks. She peered out the window of her bedroom. Things did seem to be happening: lanterns swung from several hands, moving about in the darkness. She shook her head. Enough time to worry about that tomorrow. For the moment, she was going to bed. -

To be clear: I don't trust this. At all. It seems far more likely to me that Adavantos is just trying to cast suspicion on Mail, who was in fact good. Not necessarily true, but even so. Be careful, everyone. Will be back later to post more of my thoughts.- 937 replies

Anniversary Game 2: Return of the Koloss
Elbereth replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
El heard the a knock on the door. She carefully washed and dried her hands-- no need to get little bits of herb all over everything-- and went to answer the door. To her surprise, standing outside was the same man who had been left in the alleyway the day before. He was clutching his back in obvious pain. El shook her head. "Back gave out, I see. And the lump on your head from yesterday is not any smaller." Ignoring his wide-eyed stare, she said, "Come on in, then. Let's get you fixed up." He attempted a smile. "After all, I can't fight koloss with a back like this, can I?" "Koloss?" El said in slight confusion, as she went searching behind the counter for the right medicines. "Haven't you heard? Koloss are approaching the town. I overheard it being discussed in here yesterday." El raised an eyebrow. Looks like I'm going to have to have a talk with Kassien. "Don't worry about that for now," she said aloud. "Let's focus on healing you first." Okay. I can see your point, Wyrm. I'm not saying we should lynch someone immediately based on his death. But I do think it bears discussion. Thus, my thoughts:Seonid's death probably wasn't just a fearkill. There are better targets for that (you, for example). So there was a reason he died. One possibility is that he falsely claimed to an eliminator to see what would happen. If that were the case, I'd expect him to have claimed to at least one other person as well. Did he claim to anyone? I'm more inclined to think that it was because of the group PM idea which Kas brought up. If that's the reason he died, then either he brought it up with someone else as well (who is Spiked and therefore has not sharing with the thread), or Kas is an eliminator and brought it up to draw suspicion off of him. Rather risky, I think, given that if he'd kept quiet about it no one would have known. If Kas is Spiked, though, I'd suspect Mashadar Mistborn as well. He seems to be trying to find anyone else who knew about Seonid's plan. Regarding Wyrm: I retracted for two reasons. First, because he adequately explained himself, and second because I have a suggestion. I'm not sure how good it is, though. A Seeker should scan Wyrm tonight. If he's Smoked, it will be by a Traitor (and if anyone else Smokes him, I will poison you), probably protecting his teammate. Thus we lynch Wyrm the next day, or whenever the Seeker finds a confirmed loyal proxy. There are a couple obvious problems with this. The lesser one is that an Eliminator could pretend to be (or actually be) a Seeker. This can be helped by the knowledge that multiple Seekers will likely scan Wyrm, so the Spiked can't lie without consequences. The other problem is that a Spiked Smoker might Smoke Loyal!Wyrm. I don't really know a way around this, and if it happens, I guess we'll just have to settle with not knowing, and try again another night. Either we tie up the Spiked Smoker or we know eventually what alignment Wyrm is. Either option works for me. -
Mid-Range Game 10: Divided Loyalties
Elbereth replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Could you clarify? Is the scan we vote on affected by your Elsecaller? Because you really should have stated that up-front, if so, and if you meant something different, you were decidedly unclear.Of the people who have died, Alvron, Kipper, Orlok, and Creccio would be the most useful to learn alignment, I feel. They've contributed the most of the dead players, in general, and Alvron and Kipper are both experienced enough and PM enough that I think it'd be useful to know their alignment. Plus, Kipper was a Scholar, so we'd really like to be able to trust his scans. Creccio and Orlok would be nice because they claimed Restares/Thaidakar, and it would benefit us to know whether the eliminators originally knew all members of either faction. And Creccio also claimed Lightweaver. Given that, I'll vote Creccio. Other than that, I don't think it's worth lynching Adavantos just yet. It makes more sense to keep him alive, given that he's adding to discussion, providing us with actual information on the dead, and overall remarkably helpful for an eliminator. Also, I'll place a vote on Polking. He hasn't posted once this whole game, and Adavantos killed Shallan rather than him. That's good enough for me, and better than voting for Adavantos, in my opinion.- 937 replies

Anniversary Game 2: Return of the Koloss
Elbereth replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
El blinked, waking with a start to see the sun coming in through the window. Kassien let me sleep in again, didn't he? Seriously. I'm his apprentice. Waking up early is practically in the job description. Sighing, she dressed quickly and scampered downstairs, still feeling a little sick from yesterday's test. She'd gotten the identification wrong, and it had taken her awhile to brew the antidote, long enough that some of the effects had set in. On her way down, she grabbed the note for her on Kassien's desk. She grabbed a loaf of bread from the cupboard and ripped off a sizable chunk as she read Kassien's note. Antiseptics? Again? Lord Ruler, and with feverbane, too. I'm not going to get the smell out of my nose for weeks. Unless... She smiled and ate the last bit of bread. Then she began to prepare her materials. She got out each herb jar carefully, making sure she was deciphering Kassien's scrawls correctly. She shook her head. Next time we do a thorough cleaning, I'm relabeling those things. Then, with a little smile, she grabbed the vanilla. It wouldn't react with anything else in the mixture, and her nose wouldn't be full of feverbane for days. And whoever it was used on might appreciate it, too. Her smile broke into a full-on grin as she put a single drop into her bowl. Half an hour later, her smile was gone. She frowned at the mixture. Why wasn't it bonding together like it was supposed to? She'd used everything Kassien had said. Wetrot, laceleaf, feverbane... Arrowroot. Arrowroot to make everything mix. Why hadn't Kassien reminded in his note? Because it was another test, of course. And El should really have thought of it herself. She shook her head. I'm really not doing well recently, am I? Failing yesterday's test, waking late, forgetting the arrowroot... I need to do better. And I will. As she grabbed the jar of arrowroot, El resolved that she'd finish these antiseptic batches in record time, and not only that, but she'd pass every test put to her with flying colors. Somehow. She grinned with a fierce determination, and went back to work. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ There's not much point? Really. So, when would you say we should discuss that, if not now? (I forgot to mention earlier that my character is also very sarcastic upon occasion)This is the first day. We need discussion today more than any other day, and you're just suggesting that we forget about one of the best sources of discussion there is. What's with that, Wyrm? So. For clarification. Did anyone actually receive a PM from Seonid, or did he just talk about it with Kas? -
Anniversary Game 2: Return of the Koloss
Elbereth replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
El sighed, staring intently at the two leaves, trying to find even the minutest difference. She held them up to the light streaming in from the window. Was the left one a little darker? She couldn't tell. Her focus was interrupted by the ringing of the bell downstairs, but she frowned and just concentrated harder. Kassien would call if he wanted her. Then she heard a muffled thud from outside the window. What now? She peered cautiously out of the window into the alley. Looking straight down, she saw a man she didn't recognize lying on the ground, apparently unconscious. A cloaked figure was just vanishing around the corner onto the street. As El watched, the man stirred and began looking around in confusion. El couldn't hear his words, but his attitude was clear. He rubbed at his forehead, which was definitely at least bruised. El nearly went to call Kassien, but the man got up and stumbled out of the alley under her own power. With a sigh, El returned to her desk as the bell tinkled again, letting whoever-it-had been out. If she wasn't going to eat until she figured out which one was poisonous (and ate the other one), she'd better get started. She was already hungry, in fact. After much debate with myself, I'm signing up as El. This character is the illusionist who creates the story. Thus, entirely RP. If I help, it'll be in that context. I didn't mean for this character to be for the AG, but it turned out that way, and it's kind of perfect. On with the game! EDIT: When I said I'm an illusionist, that did not pertain to El. I'm RPing as one of the characters from my novels. In that novel, he is an illusionist. Here, he is RPing as El, an apprentice apothecarist. RP within RP! See here for a more detailed explanation. -
Mid-Range Game 10: Divided Loyalties

If my eyebrows could fly off of my face, they would be on the moon by now. ...I have things to do right now, so I can't respond fully, but this seems very fair to me. Also, has the Bondsmith come out to anyone or used Adhesion on anyone? Adavantos, obviously you're not obliged to answer this, but do you have the Bondsmith on your team? Because I think the alternate win con would be the way to go here (sorry dead players). ...Um. Yeah. That's...wow. Thanks for trying to keep the game balanced, and also for trying to cause discussion (which this really should, though it hasn't as yet for some strange reason). I'll be back to discuss more later, once I get my eyebrows back from the moon.- 937 replies

Mid-Range Game 10: Divided Loyalties
Elbereth replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Straight from The Rules: Well, many things have been happening, but directly relating to you, there's this: Other than that, since PK has claimed Scholar, and Aonar's claimed contact with one, we've been discussing who they should scan and how we could trust them. There are a few other things, but none of them are ongoing (because the people involved have all died). Well, also who the cooks should target, and the fact that there is probably a Diagrammist Cook. As well as all that, we may be in a particularly bad position. Two Runners (either of whom may have been a Bondsmith) and a (likely) Scholar have all died this cycle. Our chances of winning against the Diagrammists are... not looking good. Unless they have the Bondsmith and are going for the alternate win con, I suppose. That would be nice. (And would explain why their Diagrammist kill was an inactive again.) Speaking of the Bondsmith, could you either claim to someone in a PM or use Adhesion next cycle, so that we know you're alive? Please? EDIT: Sorry Lopen. Your quote's not working, and I have no idea why. EDIT 2: Nevermind that.- 937 replies

Mid-Range Game 10: Divided Loyalties
Elbereth replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
We know for a fact that there were 4 (or more, though that's unlikely) cooks at the beginning of the game. All roles are distributed equally between the two factions, without regard to who's a Diagrammist and who isn't. Therefore there has to be an even number of every role, half for the Ghostbloods and half for the Sons of Honor.Personally, I'm inclined to trust this reading. It makes sense. There have never been 4 kills in a cycle, which points to an inactive cook (though there are other scenarios as well). I am not happy about losing Starry, but I am much less happy to lose Shallan and Stink in the same cycle. Two Runners (one of whom could have been a Bondsmith) have already died. This is not good (though mitigated by the position PMs). I'm also not happy about losing Kipper, if Elkanah's telling the truth. There goes one Scholar, one more link to information. Storm it. Speaking of Scholars, Aonar, who did yours target?- 937 replies

Mid-Range Game 10: Divided Loyalties
Elbereth replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, I obviously wasn't thinking yesterday. ...That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the clarification! I agree with your reasoning here as well, so I'll also retract the other part of the post I made last night, in which I was clearly an idiot. The problem lies in correctly identifying the cook kill as a Diagrammist one, which you have pointed out most adeptly. Storm it, I should know better than to post when it's past midnight.Regarding Stink: I don't even want to know your reasoning. I just want to know if you have reasoning. That would be enough to get me to retract. Although I may not be around again before turnover, so you may not get that chance, sadly. Regarding the Scholars: We definitely want to target Alvron and Starry, since we haven't gotten any reads on them. We may also want to go back and target someone who has already died, but if a Scholar decides to do so he or she should make that decision without telling anyone else. I'm going to suggest that PK targets Starry and the Scholar in contact with Aonar targets Alvron. The other two (assuming there are four) are free to scan whomever they wish, either to confirm the scan of someone we are in contact with or to go back and scan corpses from previous cycles. I don't know if everyone will get on within the next 8 hours, though, so we'll see how this plays out. Whatever happens, I'm sure it will be interesting! ...Which is not necessarily a good thing...- 937 replies

Mid-Range Game 10: Divided Loyalties
Elbereth replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Wait, okay, what? So. First of all, why didn't we get a faction result yesterday, but we get one today? PK, Aonar (when you get back on), what was the faction result from yesterday?Second, you're missing something kind of important. What was Mace's alignment? Just saying. With a lack of better suspects, I'll place a vote on Stink for that (non) reasoning. I'll be back to say more when I can think straight.- 937 replies

Hi! Welcome to the 17th Shard! There are several ways. The best, in my opinion, is to go to a signing. You can ask him questions while he signs your books. Another way is through personalizations, which you can order through the store on his website. You put in a name, or in your case a question, and he'll answer it. However, in general the questions you can ask are limited because he has to be able to answer very succinctly, whereas at a signing he's free to talk at length. There's also a submission form on his website, but he is very slow in responding due to his workload and even then that's more for general gushing than specific Cosmere questions. And I definitely suggest running your question past the members of this site. We'll be able to tell you if it's been asked before, and even if it's a more general question our regular transcribers should be able to give a rough approximation or some links to places where he gives a good answer. Hope that helps!

Oh, sorry, is that what you meant? I thought you meant all of the Scholars were dead. Sorry about that. Okay, so do you have proof that Kipper and Aonar are eliminators, or is it just your personal belief? Even if you can't share that information, it would be good to know it exists.- 937 replies

Mid-Range Game 10: Divided Loyalties
Elbereth replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
That frankly doesn't make sense, unless every single Scholar managed to claim to a Diagrammist, and the Diagrammists have a cook to kill those Scholars withing the first four cycles. Only seven people have died, you realize? So unless there are or were only two Scholars, that would mean that over half of the deaths have been Scholars. This seems very, very unlikely, unless you have more information. And I know you're a Runner, but since there aren't scan roles for the living you would have had to contact semi-inactives and get extremely lucky, and have them claim to you before you died.Basically, what's your proof?- 937 replies

Mid-Range Game 10: Divided Loyalties
Elbereth replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I do not think the Scholars see positions, no. Otherwise PK would have said so yesterday. Now that you've mentioned it, Adavantos, a WGG with Maill does seem very possible, actually. That particularly explains why a Cook would have targeted him, then, when it was specifically mentioned several times that Mail shouldn't die again on C1. By the way, has anyone been tied together with Adhesion today? It's also possible that if the Bondsmith is still alive, he or she decided to create a PM instead (which does seem like the wiser thing to me personally). I appreciate that at least one of the Cooks is going after inactives. Other than that, the results from this cycle were rather disappointing. I'd guess that the Diagrammists and at least one Cook hit an Explorer/Elsecaller, unless the entire Eliminator team has already become inactive, which seems unlikely at this point. Aonar, have you gotten results back yet?- 937 replies

Mid-Range Game 10: Divided Loyalties
Elbereth replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This was a major part of my duty as Mistborn in the last game, and I felt it worked out well. If I (or Arrenae (RIP)) didn't have a particular suspicion, we'd just go after an inactive. This led to a really good end of game, I felt, because everyone who was left (with the exception of Elkanah) was active. It was very fun. This also means that we shouldn't have to lynch inactives. The cooks can go after the inactives, and we can restrict our lynches to people we actually suspect. And I should really not be up, but before I go, I'd like to suggest at least one topic for discussion: Who should the unknown Scholar target? The same person as PK? Someone else? I'm personally of the opinion that he/she should target without telling anyone else their target until the next cycle, though the same as PK could also be useful, I suppose. There are too many problems if any of the three is a Diagrammist, though, let alone a combination. I may post another list of who hasn't posted (and maybe even including people who haven't posted other than "I'm here" rather than just complete inactives), but it won't be until well after turnover, once I've gotten some sleep. Until then, good night.- 937 replies

Mid-Range Game 10: Divided Loyalties
Elbereth replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
First off, we are (almost) certain that there was an Elsecaller, because the Bondsmith decided to use Adhesion and Kipper announced it all the way back on D1. Since Adavantos hasn't contested that, it seems most likely that it's true, unless Adavantos and Kipper are both evil (why they would have reason to imply that there's still a Bondsmith in the game, I don't know, but it's possible, I guess?), or other even less likely scenarios (ex. they are in a PM and decided to pretend they're bound together for...some reason). Thus Elsecaller. Secondly, that scenario only works if the unknown Scholar and PK are both evil and the Elsecaller is good (or alternatively Aonar and PK are evil and there is no second Scholar). And any Elsecaller that's good should have no reason whatsoever to be messing with the deads' appearances. An Elsecaller who's good is basically a villager who can't be targeted except by lynch. Side note- GMs, if you target an Elsecaller, what do you get back? EDIT: Presumably, something along the lines of "You could not find your target", but just to clarify. And I presume that a Runner could not create a PM, then, which would be unfortunate. Would an Assassin still see who else targeted them? Would an Artifabrian still have any actions targeting the Elsecaller/Explorer come to them, or are the actions already nullified?- 937 replies
