  1. Which implies to me that only one elim was active, and I would bet that Xino was active enough to submit an action. So it's almost definitely Hats and Rath, probably with Rath being the Deep One and surviving because of his low chance of death. Rath, anything to say for yourself?
  2. Isn't there anything that'll convince Roashina that Ellira is actually innocent? We've got at least two street-children, what makes a secretary so hard to believe? "One who doesn't want to risk his own neck, apparently," she replied with a sigh, settling into the chair. "I was just supposed to watch and report back. I thought he asked me for my good note-taking skills, honestly. I mean, I knew it was secretive, but I've dealt with that before. I just haven't dealt with, well..." she gestured at the room's chaos in general. "This." She bit her lip, looking across at him. "And you? I suppose you're some seasoned warrior or something, aren't you." Fair. I'm not going to say that clears my suspicion away, but you can't give a better defense and I think my point still stands. I kind of want to say this is pocketing, but I'm not sure if that's going too far. Your posting hasn't been 'pretty weird'. It's been very slightly more suspicious than other people so far. So I'm voting on you for it. Sorry.
  3. No RP response? ....did not realize Tess was not a fairly new player I just didn't recognize. Oops. >> I'm aware that you weren't in a rush with your second post. My point is that for you to have said there were three elims, you had to have done that logic out during your first post (even if you didn't say it), which implies you were not in that much of a rush. @Elandera that's fair. Do you have a better candidate in mind? And/or would you rather vote on Rath or Striker at this point? (I'm trying not to be too pushy, but I also want lynch discussion to happen. )
  4. @I think I am here., any thoughts on any of the players that have posted so far? It's been nearly 12 hours and I'm the only vote, and we're quickly heading into American downtime. Vote, people. @Kasimir @Haelbarde is there a vote minimum for the lynch?
  5. “Look, the only way I could’ve killed him is if I’d killed him awhile ago and came back to the meeting room while an accomplice set the bag with his body where it was.” He chuckled, hoping to convey how ridiculous that scenario sounded. He gently pushed her shoulders away from him. “I promise that you will be safe, so long as we can figure out who among us has brought us here to kill us all. Simple.” Ellira sniffed and dabbed at her eyes. "If you say so." She gave him a tremulous smile. "Thank you. I'm sorry for looking such a fool, it's just that, well, I wasn't trained for this. My master only sent me because he didn't want to go himself. I'm a secretary, and here you all are probably spies and murderers and assassins!" Her voice crumbled a little again at that last part, and she grabbed her tea to take a calming sip. (emphasis mine) Could you explain further what you mean by the bolded part? Also, it's a bit of a cop-out to say you were in a rush, mainly because your thoughts about number of elims are detailed enough that it doesn't sound like you were in a rush at all.
  6. The Grand took her shoulders, which shook slightly from feigned fear. "Look," he said gently. "One man dying means nothing so long as we remain vigilant from here on out. The murderer cannot be too far from here - I suspect they're someone who was invited to this meeting. If we work carefully, we should be able to figure out who they are before anyone else... has an unfortunate accident." "Are you sure?" she asked, in a trembling voice. "I don't want to - no one should - I just don't want anyone to die! I don't want to die! At least the Arbiter had a sword on him! I didn't think this meeting was going to be dangerous." She sniffled a bit and leaned into the hands on her shoulders. "I don't even know your name. What if you're the killer?" She said it unconvincingly, as if she couldn't ever believe that such an upstanding (and handsome) citizen would be evil. (Keep in mind that you don't know my name yet, by the way. And there's no way in hell Ellira is giving her real one out, not in a meeting like this.) Well, now. Let's get the game underway. @DeTess, I like your idea for discussion, but let me do you one better. Striker. I'm suspicious of you for this post: Even without what DeTess pointed out - that there are multiple elims, so they can figure it out on their own - even one person can figure it out on their own. The spy has the tell 'knows too much', and not being caught depends on hiding that in whatever way they see fit while still ideally making it somewhat useful. Tess' question turns it into an IKYK (though it arguably was enough of one already), but that doesn't change that the elims aren't so dumb that they don't know what they would do as the spy? I know that you retracted this train of thought after Tess' next response, but the fact that you called it out at all makes me suspicious. Also, the fact that in the next post you said 'three elims' when Tess had only specified 3-4. Does someone already know how many eliminators there are? I would appreciate any and all thoughts on Striker's, Tess', or my alignment, based on this discussion. And votes! Please vote, people, it's only a 24 hour cycle. (Note that voting on inactives does not count; there is an inactivity filter for exactly that purpose. @'ing them is quite sufficient. Make discussion count.)
  7. That actually wasn’t my comment. Venture originally had his RP as his character coming in late, since he missed that Lawrence was in the writeup. Yup. The Reform Soy can’t be lynched. It’s not an extra life, it just completely doesn’t work. (In addition to the Assassination change that Xino pointed out.)
  8. Mmkay! I’d appreciate you taking an action tonight, to help show yourself to be village. And please show up tomorrow - we’ll need you!
  9. Okay. Do you have any opinion on who the last two eliminators are, or any thoughts on the Necronomicon clue?
  10. In which case we lynch everyone who seems too knowledgeable just like we usually do anyway? The Reform Spy can’t die to the lynch, so it’s not like it’s a big loss except maybe losing a cycle. I suppose it’d point them out to the elims, but at the same time just not lynching people who seem to be doing too well at catching people is also not a good strategy. (I could totally see an elim bussing multiple teammates, and am glad Aman isn’t playing. )
  11. @xinoehp512 you’re following this thread and have seen the QF but haven’t responded to my PM; would you care to do so / be around? We kind of need everyone we can get, and you watching but not saying anything isn’t a great look.
  12. Ellira sighed internally, but did her best to look frightened and pale. She couldn’t quite bring herself to add to the screams, though, so went for shocked silence instead. You’d think these people had never seen a dead body before. She grasped her teacup too tightly and stared at the corpse as if she couldn’t tear her eyes away from the horror of it. She used that, of course, to examine Urskevan more closely. The red fletching was especially interesting; someone was making quite the statement - probably something like “death to traitors”. She was honestly surprised no one had run out the door yet, but panic made people act strangely. She finally tore her eyes away with a visible effort, directing her gaze towards the Grand who’d been smiling at her earlier. “I’ve never seen anything so awful in my life!” she lied. “How could this happen? What if it happens to all of us? I don’t want to die!” Her voice rose in pitch and panic as she spoke. She looked scared and vulnerable - just like she needed a big, strong man to reassure her. Let’s get this going! As I said in signups, I intend to focus on RP (given Kas’ fantastic write ups make it so much fun!), so expect some analysis (and some snark ) but not loads. On that note, anyone who hasn’t picked a character yet want to play the Grand I’m talking to? I’d love a RP partner! EDIT. OY. Go upvote Kas if you haven’t.
  13. I would almost certainly have been sacrifice-converted as Ventyl had I been evil and not Deep One / Founder. Guess we’ll just have to see how the night turns out. I’ll be very disappointed if you’re village after all, though.
  14. My logic is sound, meaning you’re admitting to being evil? Much appreciated.
  15. You can’t choose who you redirect to. Surely Elandera would’ve told you that had you actually tried to put the order in. (Fair enough on the having said it earlier though.) And I clearly didn’t track you - I used the Necronomicon. My suspicion on you is just from logic, sorry.
  16. @Kasimir @Haelbarde Can the Arbiter move a no-vote to a vote? Does the Reform Spy know the identity of the EO if they choose to become an eliminator? If the Reform Spy is lynched, does it distinguish from a normal Survivor? If the EO joins the Discovery faction, do they know? Do they get to know the EO’s identity? Ellira sipped her tea quietly after Darela walked out, considering. More security was no bad thing, in her eyes; she was as native-born as they came, and were she caught she’d be dead either way. This could just make it easier on her, if she set up foreign ties around her targets. She smiled coyly at the man she sat across from. “Such unpleasantness. Pity, to see it in such an esteemed establishment.” “It is pretty rude,” he agreed, frowning. “I’m sorry you had to see it, honey.” She grimaced inwardly at the endearment, but worked up as much of a blush as she could muster. “Shall we take ourselves elsewhere? That display has turned my appetite cold. Perhaps somewhere less... public?” He started to smile. “Yes, let’s go back to my house. No one’s home today except the maid.” ”I’m sure she won’t interrupt us if we lock the door,” Ellira said, watching as he drained his cup of tea. Which, of course, she’d poisoned while all attention had been on Darela and Huzin. He’d fall asleep in a few hours, and die not long after that. She smiled at the thought. He grinned at that. “Good idea, honey.” She rose to take his arm, brushing close enough to him to be distracting. As she did, she quickly scanned the room, memorizing who was there. Her master might be interested to know who’d seen Darela’s outburst, later. Then they headed toward the door together. He was humming, probably thinking of what was coming when they got home. Ellira, on the other hand, was relishing the thought of slicing open his jugular, ideally in the middle of a soft kiss. He wasn’t anyone important, of course, or not so important as to be missed or suspected. That wasn’t her master’s style. He was merely one of the only merchants who traded in western spices. Ellira wasn’t even sure why his death was important, exactly - if her master controlled the rest of the spice trade, she didn’t know about it. She didn’t really care. All that mattered was that he was marked for death, and she would deliver it with a sweet smile and no regrets.
  17. True. I suppose that makes it much less certain, though I’d still probably bet on Rath being evil if I had to. (Especially as the elims seem to have at least one consistently active member, and Xino and Hats have both been pretty spotty.) Also, the fact that Rath didn’t initially specify his target for Mists of Releh like he did for Discover the Hidden makes me feel like it’s a false claim and he didn’t realize it was a targeted action (which he might not have if he just skimmed through looking at insanity chances). EDIT: Also, even if there isn’t much to be lost by claiming (which isn’t true if they knew Aman wouldn’t be able to get a message through), there isn’t really anything to be gained? Xino didn’t have to say what he’d done that night. Plenty of people didn’t. The only thing I can see is trying to make people think they’re not evil together (in which case, well done?), but that doesn’t seem worth it to me.
  18. Because it puts Hats in the position of having to claim a daytime action scan regularly, when she doesn't actually have one (assuming she couldn't be converted as an elim, which seems like a safe bet). It's possible, but unlikely. Fair! I forgot that was only N3. >> That does seem implausible. I like it, though. EDIT: Also, though it doesn't bear on my point, the elims wouldn't have falsely claimed Hats was converted - Aman might have been able to reach out through the Necromancer, and possibly only didn't because the Necromancer died the next turn.
  19. Woot! My thoughts thus far: from 'That was the end of all' onward, the flow is very awkward, especially the repetition of 'Names'. That indicates to me that it's some kind of clue with wording or letters or something - my first thought was capital letters, but that didn't yield anything interesting.
  20. Hm. What actions have you taken?
  21. Hello! I have been getting over a rather nasty cough - I thought it would be gone shortly after I started playing, but it turns out it was not and so I have been spending the majority of my time either asleep or trying to fall asleep and failing miserably. And coughing. So that's fun! So, I'm going through the entire thread because it's somehow only nine pages long. Comments as I read: 1. @Araris Valerian, I love that you now call your D1 votes Stab Votes. Thanks for making me laugh. 2. I'm virtually certain Rath is evil, for two reasons (the second I'll get to a little later): Fifth said this - "I’m starting to veer away from my suspicion of Rath, especially now that he’s clarified his lack of vote was likely due to IRL reasons. I would like more analysis from him, but for once I’m actually getting a good tone read off his posts, skimming back through them, so he’s my largest trust aside from the other two. " Which just feels like he's talking to another elim there. 3. I consistently got an elim read on Devotary, but she's as far as I can tell hard-cleared by Venture's death. So much for my gut reads. >> 4. As far as I know, we've not yet seen evidence of a Founder in the game. My suspicion is that there were two Dagon's Will people and the Deep One. 5. I think ILuvHats is evil. Night 2, everyone living's actions are accounted for except hers, and Fifth made a claimed action (scanning Sart's action) such that he probably didn't kill either. (This isn't certain, because Fifth could've been lying, but all things equal I think it's more likely he's telling the truth.) 6. The Deep One totally targeted Fifth N1. That isn't important, but I'm saying it anyway. 7. I'm pretty sure Xin and Hats aren't evil together, because Xin claimed to have scanned Hats being converted, which would make Hats have to do a lot of extra work covering up if she (?) were evil. Which is the second reason why I'm virtually certain Rath is evil - it's highly probable that two of Xin, Rath, and Hats are evil (I've gone insane / Ventyl was inactive for a while and probably would've been sacrificed, and Devotary is cleared for her Governor claim), so if Xin and Hats aren't evil together, that means it has to be either Xin/Rath or Hats/Rath. @Devotary of Spontaneity what prompted your comment about the Necronomicon right after Fifth's death? Because I see no reason for you to have known Fifth had it (which I know he did, because it got passed to me). In conclusion: I'm pretty sure Rath and Hats are the remaining evil players. No idea which is the Deep One, unfortunately, but I'm hoping I can figure that out with the Necronomicon clue - which I'm pretty certain I'm not allowed to paste (as it's from the GMs), but it's basically "Why do these people think they can wake the old ones - and why is it that the Deep One might actually be able to? Also, names are important." I think based on the odd phrasing of the clue that it might not be solveable without the exact text, unfortunately, but I'll let you know if I come up with anything. Is there anything we can do about this? ...Not really? Devotary dies today, Xin or I die tonight, elims win. Unless one of them is inactive, in which case... no, elims still win. hmph. I shouldn't have read the Necronomicon, to be fair, but I got on at literally :58 before the turn ended and submitted that order just to have something in. Oh well? EDIT: @ILuvHats if you want more RP, you're likely to get a lot more in the current QF! It's a pity that this game has been so light on it. EDIT2: If I had to guess, I'd guess Rath is the Deep One based on more consistent activity and the fact that the clue includes the word 'wrath'.
  22. Hello! Popping in to note that I exist but am extremely tired and planning on sleeping as soon as I finish this post. I have not read any of the past game (though it looks surprisingly short so I might?) nor more than skimmed the rules, but I can start paying attention around 14-16 hours from now. Don’t expect anything further from me until then, because school is a pain.
  23. Hello! I will be playing, probably with a heavy RP focus. Character and associated RP to come when I’m not extremely tired!
