  1. I thought of this and checked out the map of Roshar. It looks like Shinovar has a good sized mountain range on the western side as well. The only big gaps are to the north and south. So if the Everstorm comes in at an angle (is the Origin to the SE?) it might get pretty bad, but if it comes in fairly westerly, then Shinovar should be safe.
  2. From Merriam-Webster caus·aladjective \ˈkȯ-zəl\ : relating to or showing the cause of something : making something happen : causing something So that second definition could make sense...as in, an agreement to create(cause) a betrothal. Too much of a stretch?
  3. I suspect someone would notice on board a ship, if she suddenly started carving or pounding out a fake version of herself Healing by stormlight makes the most sense, I think.
  4. Then she'd have to soulcast it back to the dagger, though, which would be a lot harder. And Jasnah says she's not good at organics. Blood is generally easier because it's one of the essences, but presumably still not as easy for her as smoke and fire. Another question is why didn't she just soulcast her attackers as she did before, rather than decide to play dead? I guess they could have been gone by the time that she was able to regain consciousness.
  5. I think you may be right. We don't know that she was stabbed through the heart, and either way, a stab wound is relatively quick to heal. She might have been able to heal it enough to not-die, then transit to Shadesmar pretty quickly.
  6. Mostly because of the timing. Kaladin and Shallan were unconscious for a while before the Stormlight finished healing them enough to wake up. Jasnah only had a few minutes at most.
  7. Hmm that's true. With enough Stormlight she might have been able to compensate for lack of bloodflow+oxygen long enough to transition to Shadesmar, then heal herself.
  8. Causal bethrothal is used a few times--it seems to mean something like an intent to be betrothed, from the context.
  9. It took time for Szeth to heal his wounds with Stormlight though. The small ones heal over pretty much right away, but the bigger ones take time. I don't know if there'd be enough time for Stormlight to heal a stab through the heart before dropping blood pressure led to unconsciousness?
  10. When Shallan first goes into the room, she sees Jasnah's body on the floor, a bloodstain on the front, and the assassin shoving the knife hard enough to thump on the floor under the body. She doesn't see it the second time, when she barricades it against them, after she Lightweaves.
  11. Forgive me if I seem dense but I don't quite understand how Jasnah could have faked her own death. She's not a Lightweaver so it wasn't an illusion. I read a suggestion where she Soulcast a copy of herself--but that seems like it would be really difficult, since she'd have had to also do the clothing, jewelry, etc. If she had time to soulcast something that complex, she could have just as easily soulcast the attackers into flame, like she did with the thugs in the alley during WoK. Maybe the transition into Shadesmar saved her? Do you bleed or absolutely need a physical body there?
  12. Pointed out in a different topic, but the interior artwork of glyphs and some of the drawings are made by a person named Nazh, who also drew the city of Elendel in AoL.
  13. He might have also seen hatred as the most powerful of the shards.
  14. I saw that but it kinda doesn't make a lot of sense. Dalinar is probably a better leader, and at least has a consistent intelligence than Mr. T. I wonder how T-Centric the Diagram is... lol...Given that the more "brilliant" he is, the less common sense he seems to have, I think he has a really big blind spot on who would be best to lead the nations of Roshar.
  15. Yeah, Zahel has obviously traveled some long distances, but Hoid really gets places, and fits more with the unpredictable implications of the quote. For one thing, you never know what he's going to say next!
  16. A little off topic but related--has anyone noticed the gender relations of the spren to their bondmates? Each human seems to bond a spren of the opposite gender (except for Dalinar who might have bonded the shard of Honor). I wonder if this is a coincidence or has some deeper implication. We know that people of either gender can join most orders, so are there male and female windspren? Hmmm...
  17. I meant as more than just the king's Wit
  18. I caught the perfect pitch bit I wonder what he was doing on Nalthis this time...Is he the one that got Nightblood for Naln? Is Jasnah world hopping too? Or was she in Shadesmar the whole time? Her attire and pack seem to imply that she was going extensive physical traveling. AND she recognizes Hoid. INteresting...!
  19. But who is the wanderer, the wild piece, the one who makes no sense? I glimpse at his implications, and the world opens to me. I shy back. Impossible. Is it? - From the Diagram, West Wall Psalm of Wonders: paragraph 8 (Notew by Adrotagia: Could this refer to Mraize?) I'm thinking this refers to Hoid. I wish we could get hold of the entire Diagram
  20. I hope the title isn't too spoilery! Anyway the Diagram--did anyone else feel like it was a nod toward Isaac Asimov and psychohistory? And the Ghostbloods like the Second Foundation, trying to keep it on course? Can't wait to see what else he predicts. I wonder why Dalinar suing for peace means he has to be killed. Is it because of what's already happened (Parshendi betrayal) or something yet to come?
  21. I'm going for WOW!!!!!!!!!! then This post has been reported for attempting to skirt the rules then WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! edit: Also NIGHTBLOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
