  1. I can't really add on to what the others have said. But I can say that the awesomeness you have posted here has brought an emotional tear to my eyes. (this is what happens when I can't express myself vocally or with extreme movement. I'm at work at the moment.)
  2. I might put this in a different topic, but reading this without break makes me think that the great ability of the skybreakers is "debate". Both excerpts are from "chapter 28 page 3".
  3. "Another spiked," grumbled Raubber as the next body was brought to him, "and you say that this is the one putting those strange marks all over the place? The ones that gave me such a headache? Ones like this don't deserve a burial or a burning." And with that, Raubber proceeds to drag the corpse out of the graveyard and into the lands of the mistwraiths. "Even this is too kind for one who talks in code."
  4. Raubber sighs as the next body is brought forth "when will this nonsense end," he grumbles as he starts on the measurements. He had run out of coffins three bodies ago and had to resort to digging deeper holes as to make sure nothing could smell them and decide to dig them out. He decided then and there that, after this little farce is over, he will get himself an apprentice.
  5. An aluminum gnat is considered useless, but an aluminum gnat savant can (maybe?) remove poisons and other "harmful to the body" substances. So maybe a duralumin gnat savant might be able to do something.
  6. Actually i believe he said that there will be a viewpoint for a character of each order, i don't think this means that we will get a flashback for a character of each order. Edit: i will need to relisten tomorrow, i gotta go to work soon and my phone's connection sucks at work.
  7. I think that Shallan and Kaladin will just be friends, but Adolin will think that they are more. Plus, he will have a problem coping with "what happened" and that will make him lash out at little things, putting friction in his relationships (his romantic relationship, his familial relationships and his relationship with his friends).
  8. I believe there is a topic that talks about what an aluminum savant could do, but has anyone asked Brandon what a Duralumin Savant could do? I believe that it would be easier for a duralumin gnat to become a savant because it does not disappear by using it in and of itself. there must be another metal being burned for the duralumin reserves to be expended. Am I wrong in my assumption?
  9. Mwa ha ha ha ha, my insanity is spreading. Yeeas, Yeeas.
  10. When Raubber finally reaches the tavern, he sees everyone arguing on who might be a spiked. Sighing, he walks past them, into the tavern, and heads towards the bar. Seeing it empty, he grabs a bottle of something, that was still half full, and downs a quarter of what was left. He then proceeds back out to the graveyards, taking the bottle with him.
  11. All these squares make a circle Edit: this is me, now officially insane.
  12. Raubber thrust the shovel into the dirt and released it. "I am getting too old for this," he says to himself as he stretches out his back and feeling pain for having dug so many graves. "What day is it," he thought to himself as he started back into town. It seemed like so long ago that Cyrus had been killed. He barely remembered that Joe helped him with a couple of the spiked's bodies. "I wonder how everyone is doing. Who is still alive I wonder. Heh, I can't even remember who I buried. I need a hard drink."
  13. I do not think that the parshendi are voidbringers because of this listener stanza "’Tis said it was warm in the land far away / When Voidbringers entered our songs. / We brought them home to stay / And then those homes became their own, / It happened gradually. / And years ahead ’twil still be said ’tis how it has to be." This means that Voidbringers are other creatures who "infect" the listeners. On a side not, I found this while looking for above stanza, the listeners could change form before they met their gods, who I believe are odium Spren. I get these thoughts from this next stanza. "The betrayal of spren has brought us here. / They gave their Surges to human heirs, / But not to those who know them most dear, before us. / ’Tis no surprise we turned away / Unto the gods we spent our days / And to become their molding clay, they changed us." This one says that when the Spren left them to bind with humans, they turned to the odium Spren, their gods, and gained new forms. The reason I believe that the odium Spren are their gods is because of this next stanza. "Our gods were born splinters of a soul, / Of one who seeks to take control, / Destroys all lands that he beholds, with spite. / They are his spren, his gift, his price. / But the nightforms speak of future life, / A challenged champion. A strife even he must requite." This soul, I believe, is Odium because he wants to destroy all lands with spite. And it says, they are his Spren. What do you guys think? Or has this already been stated and I am blind in looking for it? Edit: for some reason I put "parshendi are spoilers instead of Voidbringers" I must be tired.
  14. Raubber is having intelligence issues in not being able to have a good reason to vote for somebody. I honestly can't see any patterns. I think I will be sitting out the next couple of games and just watching how things go. Last game and this one, when realization dawns that I can't effectively participate, I kind of lose initiative and have a harder time RPing because I don't know how to move in a way that makes sense anymore. When I get home tonight, I'll try to throw in an RP post.
  15. How is hair color cosmere-centric? I can't really wrap my mind around it.
  16. I kind of wish we knew what happened to the riverspren when the thunderclast appeared. I believe it is said that voidbringers can hold Stormlight perfectly within their body. could it be the Stormlight in the highstorms that allow the listeners to change form? If so, could they, while holding Stormlight, change without a highstorm?
  17. The riverspren was corrupted, but they called the bigger shadow an "escort" and it looked like "a swimming person, but like a shadow". Edit: spelling
  18. I like RAFOs because it means your asking the right questions. After that, you just need to find the right way to ask it to get pieces of the puzzle.
  19. Could the "large Spren" in Dalinar's vision be a parshendi in smokeform? Could the bigger symbols in the voidbinding chart be an Odium Spren that grants two forms depending on the song/rhythm they sing? This train of thought has a lot of holes, I know, but the stanza for smokeform talks about being able to spy, and Dalinar himself says that what that creature in his vision did was amazing because it allowed you to get behind enemy lines.
  20. I also agree with this theory, I believe in one of the Q&A's that Brandon says that what Adolin did at the end of the novel would be accepted by some of the orders. But to me, this grinds against the first idea.
  21. I am waiting for them to turn the manga Shokugeki No Soma into an anime because I think it would be awesome. For those who haven't heard of it, it is about a young boy, whose house is also a special-of-the-day restaurant, finding himself in a special high school for chefs. All the teachers are stricter thank Gordon Ramsey, and if the students have arguments, they settle it with an iron chef like battle. It's a little risqué because when they eat the food, their reactions usually involve mental images of themselves (usually naked, with parts covered) in some form of foodgasm. Also there is a funny character that likes to dress in nothing but his chef apron. So far it is a great manga and could be a great anime (if it isn't one already and I just can't find it on the net) Edit: spell check and a word change
  22. Any way to move this entire topic over to the WoR forum?
  23. Could a lerasium spike steal another persons Sdna? Has this been asked? Most likely it would be RAFOd but still interesting. What if the spike, being of preservation, instead of stealing, just copies?
  24. Thanks for the link, some of the "thoughts" on there kind of made me roll my eyes now that the second book is out. I am also wondering, now that we have slightly more information about the surges, what people think the meaning is behind the similarities and differences of the surge glyphs and the "void" glyphs.
  25. I was just in the coppermind when I saw a picture of both the adhesion surge glyph and void glyph. I have a horrible time explaining things, but the void glyph looks like someone took the surge glyph, cut it in have vertically, flipped the right side sideways(?) and flipped the left side sideways(?) and upside down. I am not at a computer to mess with the pictures, but are all the void glyphs just the surge glyph counterpart cut in some way and then rearranged? Has this already been noticed and discussed? Edit: you can really see this in the cohesion and devision glyphs.
