  2. I'm 1682 now. Some might say that means I finally got that last damnation bird. I prefer to think I managed to commit Dodo genocide twice.
  3. I wouldn't underestimate Buffy Summers if I were you. She has a track record of killing monsters after all.
  4. Eh, my on,y problem with the Star Wars canon was that it got so large, I had no idea where to start. Could I pick an era of books and just dive in? Or would I be missing important details? Of course, the time period I'm most interested in is the Clone Wars; I doubt Disney execs are going to start retconning battles and such out of the timeline, so that part is rather secure.
  5. Twilight Sparkle is Brandon's favourite pony? Awesome! ...anyway, not idea on the secret. I'm guessing it's either another Mistborn announcement, or something to do with the Elantris ten year anniversary thing. Though I can always hope against hope for Nightblood.
  6. Hmm. I don't know. On the one hand, my immediate reaction is to say Vin, since she really connected to me. I picked up Mistborn when I was going through a rather... problematic phase, and Vin's paranoia and obsessions really spoke to me; watching her develop as a character and work past those was powerful, and helped me in my own life. Of course, maybe I should be saying Kelsier or Elend, since those guys are actually different from me, and have qualities I really admire, such as their confidence and intellect (even if Kelsier is a sociopath). ...Eh. I vote Vin.
  7. Didn't read his Night Angels stuff, but I have to agree; I read the first two books of his other series (the Prism one) and didn't get into them. There was some cool stuff in them, to be sure; I loved Gavin and his brother, for instance. But there were other things which just stopped me from getting into them; I thought Kip's characterization didn't match up from one scene to the next, and it felt as if some things were being made up as he went along, like the introduction/significance of the card game Still, there were thigns I liked in it, so maybe when the series is done I'll go back and read it all at once... but I wans't impressed enough to pick up the third book when it came out.
  8. So, I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and guess that you like Syl? A longshot, I know, but I'm intuitive that way. Anyhow... I don't know if it's clear in the books which is Dalianr's boon and which is his curse, but I was under the impression forgetting his wife was the curse. It's been a while since I read the books though, and I think it's been worded rather... unclearly (Purposefully, of course). Aside from that though, welcome! Hope you enjoy the forum; mind if I ask which books besides the Stormlight Archive you've read?
  9. I will not confirm or deny any responsibility in the Panda shootings, nor will I respond to the suggestions that there was a second bowman on the grassy knoll. Any suggestion to the contrary is complete hogwash, and simply an attempt by conspiracy theorists to further discredit archers everywhere, and attempt to limit our right to bear arms in the face of the threat of panda bear arms. I will confirm that this discussion on 'travesty' reminds me of Delightful's reaction to the word delgithful. And that amuses me.
  10. Of course, I'm not initiated. So I guess in this comparision, I'm Batman? Anyway... welcome!
  11. If you exist, does that mean you are? Anyway, I don't know a thing about the whole cosplay side of the fandom, so I'm not much use there. That being said, you guys might find this article kind of interesting if you intend on making everything yourselves; it's a step-by-step instruction of how a guy made a shardblade replica for Brandon. Good luck with the shardbearing!
  12. Mistborn is a good series to get into the cosmere with; I'd actually recommend reading Warbreaker before starting SA though. I mean, I'm a Warbreaker fanboy, so I'd say read it anyway, but I have reasons this time... the big one being that Warbreaker, in my mind, is a great companion book to the original Mistborn trilogy. If you liked the original trilogy, I think you'd enjoy it... and it's available for free download on Brandon's site, which is a nice extra bonus.
  13. You mispelled Warbreaker. Though Alloy of Law is a pretty good book; I love the fact that we see how technology and the world has moved on beyond the (imaginative, but still traditional) fantasy world of the original trilogy.
  14. Eyup. When I first signed up, I'd just finished watching the first season of Arrow, so I went with an Oliver Queen username/profile picture. I've actually became a big fan of MLP:FiM for a while so for the last few...months? Wow... for the last few months I've been using various MLP related pictures; just felt like going back to basics for a little while. BUT... I'm guesing from your "playing archers" comment you like RPG's of one form or another? In which case, I recommend you check out the Roleplaying forum. There's a dedicated sub-forum for the Reckoners series of books, but there's also a thread specifically for a fantasy-style game in an original setting by Seond (named Edassa); might be something you'd be interested in checking out. Also... I don't know the quote. Friendship denied?
  15. Hah, funny you mention the archer picture, considering I just changed it after a long run of MLP pictures, and with this only being a minor break before the next set. So far as codes and stuff... if you want to spoiler something, type
  16. ...Seriously guys? We were ONE post away from being an over-used anime meme, and we didn't do it? Cheerilee is so disappointed in us.
  17. I'm going to put something hilarious and witty here. You know, when I think of it.

  18. Brandon Sanderson has never failed his city.
  19. It isn't. It's just a different brand of evil, an offering from the Pandastorm rather than the heamulrgic workshops of the Dark Alley. I feel it is my responsibility as someone affiliated with neither to give you this.
  20. Well, I guess Oliver Queen is kind of a savant with a bow? So yeah, felt like a little bit of a change from Nightmare Moon. I have two pony-based pictures I want to use for the Rambleman rank, though so this change will only last as long as I don't have enough rep to pony. In the meantime, I'll be practicing my Batman Arrow voice. "Kobold King! You have failed this forum!" EDIT And of course no sooner do I change it than I see the perfect mix of Archer and Pony. Hmm, decisions, decisions...
  21. I come not bearing cookies; therefore, I am clearly the most trustworthy. Anyway, besides that? Welcome. I still haven't finished Elantris; I just find the writing too different from his later books to get into. I also haven't read the non-cosmere works. I'm kind of a terrible Sanderfan. But... still! Welcome!
  22. Warbreaker is an awesome book- my favorite in the cosmere series- so I highly, highly recommend it, especially if you've finished Mistborn. ...Oh, and welcome.
