  1. It's a good theroy but I was under the impression nobody new Liss wasn't a woman meant they assume the assassin was a man. A good assassin doesnt leave witnesses so noone has ever seen her in action to know it was a woman, not that she dresses/looks like a man. i would have to reread the chapter it seemed to me her father was hurt due to Shallans actions and was killed but I dont think it was with the shard blade. I say this because if she did mortal damage with a shard blade how was he holding her and singing to her he would either be crippled or dead if attacked with a blade....severing the limps soul or death if it touches the spine. I still like the idea of the soul caster in the safe over the shard blade. I think her father had the shardblade along with the soulcaster, having both would help his push for becoming a high prince. But when shallan killed him, Which im not even sure she is responsible but she may beleive she is, possibly it was her inaction that cause his death and she blames herself. the blade poped out she bonded to it and found the soulcaster in the safe. Your idea is a good plot twist but i don't think its very likley.
  2. Could it be a hint to the lightweavers 1st ideal?
  3. cryptic means haveing or seeming to have a hidden or ambigous meaning. If WoB called them crytpics why do they have to be called somethingpren. From every thing weve read about shallan, she has a cryptic past, the lies cover up the true. In a way they are drawn to her because of this the want to unravel the secrets. Its not the lie or the truth that attacts them in the sense only lying or the truth does, its the mystery behind it. Atleast thats my 2 cents. . I've just read the new chapters released. Jasnah has even said they name themselves crypics. Then goes on to to say lie spren is more accurate then truth spren. But i think this has to do with them wanting to uncover the lies attracted by the lie to uncover the truth. Still cryptics seem the best name for them and even after she calls them lie spren she goes back to calling them cryptics.
  4. I made a post like this myself and suggested Rysn to be the explorer. With chapter i read about her in WoR and from the little we saw of her in WoK i think she could be a strong possibility. The fact i the island creature gave her the stormlight sucking creature makes her a very interesting person. (sorry I don't remember what they call those). But it seems to me the popular vote is leaning toward Eshonia because in her chapter they mention the she explored before going to the shattered planes. My vote goes to one of those two. Leaning toward Rysn but that could be racist on my part being shes human and that makes me lean in her direction. But it would not surprise me if brandon threw the explorer in there as a parshendi so all the main roles aren't human. When i think about it like that it makes me think more then likely its gonna be Eshonia.
  5. Thats whats confusing me though. If hes an impassive observer or its being projected into his mind. Where did the skill of the farmer come from. and between the 2 replies it sounds like one person is saying he IS the famer for the duration and has control and the other says its all in his head as a vision.
  6. By the end of WoK's we find out that hes not getting answers to his question. Its prerecorded words sent through time that hes been receiving. His last vision was exactly the same as his first. So heres where my confusion begins. In the vision where hes the farmer and is attacked by (sorry cant remember what they called it) that creature he uses the fireplace poker to fight off the beast using modern forms. Even the KR mention they have never seen his forms and that hes very skilled and even offer him a place to train with them. His wife claims her husband has never held a weapon in his life. So either this farmer was doing the best he could and managed it on his own, or Dalinar does have some kind of effect on these vision. I'd love to hear some your ideas on this.
  7. I've just found this site and the cosmere. I had no idea. I've spent the last few days poking around this site and long story short my minds been blown and have alot of information I've been trying to sort out in my head. That being said I have a few theories of my own. Also a few questions hopfully I'm not rehashing things thats been done before. It seems alot of people are going with Eshoni, as the explorer mentioned on the cover of WoR. Personally I'm leaning toward Rysn. There is definatly somthing going on with her. She travels alot for trade and to places we only see through her. Then the whole scene of the soul of the greatshell saving her and giving her the larkin. I know the broken legs might hamper the whole exploring thing but she could heal and continue her travels. (speaking of the larkin, could that be the same type of creature darkness used to drain lift of her stormight?) Next topic, Honourblades and shardblades. Where to start. My first thought I want to put out there is about the one differnces between the blades when a herald dies his blade disapears, but when a shard bearer dies his blade appears for who ever wants to take it. I'm thinking along the lines that the honourblades are the origonals earned by the hearalds when they took the oathpact possibly given by honor himself. And shardblades are a fabrail type knock off created by man for the KR, Since fabrails have spren trapped inside when the user dies the blade can be used by anyone. Possibly in the making of a shard blade the spren trapped inside chooses to become a blade for one they choose worthy. That could be why Syl says Dalinar is better off without it because he didnt earn it and the spren inside did not choose him. I know theres no evidance for this but its just my idea. It could be Dalinar isnt meant for a blade but a shard hammer?!? I just thinking of when hes in that ditch beating away at the rocks and how it gave him claraity and time to think, sort of like Kaladin and his spear. Also a shardhammer seems to fit in with his order people are leaning to...stoneward i think it was. Well I've rambled enough for my first post but you can be sure it wont be my last. I hope I was able to get my ideas across like i want to. I'm not very good at putting my thoughts into words. Let the bashing begin!
