    And now we have a release date (well, at least I assume we didn't before) - October 6 for the 'Elantris Tenth Anniversary Author's Definitive Edition' (two days before my birthday!). (This comes from near the end of the 4th paragraph of item #1 of the latest new article on Brandon's site).

    My sister outright refuses to read books that I suggest. This understandably made it challenging to introduce her to the books. So my infection vector was telling her about all the interesting RP's associated with this site. Your mileage may vary (my sister was big on forum RP's from other places on the internet).

    Just consider time. The speed of time is non-constant. We all experience it at different rates, due to moving at different velocities. Should time be measured in something like seconds/true second?

After the last chords sounded out, he made a flourishing bow, before sitting and steepling his fingers, a grin on his face. The voices joining in the chorus was a promising sign.

    I've got a Song Parody that references that. Sorta. Maybe I need to do another one, to do it properly. Genuine curiosity. I made comments in each of the PM's you opened with me in it about the number of puzzling PM groups I was in. But then, if I were Cultivation, there would not likely have been very many PM's at all. So it was probably a good thing I wasn't Cultivation. Oh, the Lord of Hate most definitely cares. I'm the Lord of Hate. Not the Lord of Apathy. Unless you mean compassion. But then there's evidence that The Lord of Hate has exhibited that too. We got Hoid to worldhop around the place and active all the other keys. So only one key is necessary for each world. And thus the key holders have the power to unmake the worlds.

    I do not believe any of the people, places, or events of Elantris are mentioned or referred to in Emperor's Soul. What I'd do is read both when you can, and then find and read KChan's theory on how the magic systems work.

    Endowment acknowledged that the points were fair. And the scores were 570-380, in Endowment's favour. Endowment hit the jackpot on the throw beforehand.

    I started to go through the first question, but megaly over complicated it. I've put what I had in spoilers, in case it becomes relevant. Otherwise, just ignore the spoilers. And I've run out of time for them moment. Do you know how many marks that first question would be worth? For that second one, you spent 2/3rds of the hike walking at 3 mi/hr, and 1/3rd at 6mi/hr. Think that'll just be (2/3)*3 + (1/3)*6 = 4 mi/hr. You can think about it like this: Say the hike is 3 hours. 2 hours were spent walking at 3 mi/hr, so over that 2 hours, you'd have travelled 6 miles. Then for the last hour, you traveled 6 mi/hr, so traveled a distance of 6 miles. Thus you traveled 12 miles in total, and it took you 3 hours to do so. 12/3 = 4mi/hr. Make sense? If I have time later, I'll jump back on to help answer/explain things. Feel free to PM me too.

    You should totally come by the Sanderson Elimination board and play a game some time! Or GM. The write-ups would certainly be interesting. Hope you get a positive result from your interview (and maybe you could run mafia games at the library?)
