What Specifically Is The Deal With Feruchemical Steel?
18th Shard replied to Oudeis's topic in Mistborn
Could it not be that, when storing speed, you also store caloric energy, and you merely tap this energy when tapping speed, as well as the more well-known effects? -

Can you add the Dark Alley? We are actually a pretty friendly group of people, giving spiked cookies to everyone we can. Our member list is on the first page of our thread. Arbitrary number of troops is not too high, since we have to replace spikes, but each DA member is pretty storming awesome.

I think it is definitely possible and probably true that multiple people bonded the Stormfather - it is implied in the quote about Bondsmiths that they could increase past three members, and as far as we know there are only three "godspren" (superpowerful spren for Moogle) to bond - therefore, one must have been bonded more than once.

People you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley
18th Shard replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
So, uh, Fatebreaker, a ) how did we lose an Essence Spike, b ) how did it get in Winter, c ) and by Essence Spike, I assume your referring to the combination of Forgery and Hemalurgy in Alley [redacted], and d ) what future developments can be developed? Nice poem, by the way. For every one else, here it is: -
Cross Clan/Guild Common Rooms
18th Shard replied to Surgebound Rainspren's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
Xanas sat quietly next to the wall, frowning. Tsking, he picked up all of the remaining mugs (numbering around 40) and downed them, using the loaned Soulcaster to soulcast it to water in his stomach. He then stored all of it in a bendalloymind. Whispering to Winter, he quietly said, "You should probably start filling the bronzemind." -

It is a good thing it is root beer; we Mormons don't drink other kinds. "Gold Compounders? I will also store bendalloy and tin and burn aluminum. Try and beat that!" -

There would have to be degrees of sentience - Stick is not as sentient as Hoid... probably. -
Perhaps placing it in a host decreases the rate of decay dramatically (instead of 10% decay/minute, .01% decay/minute)

Added the following to the disclaimer: Trespassers will be spiked. Approved by the FDA. Made in a facility that also processes wheat, eggs, and radioactive materials. -
The Investiture-Challenged Awareness Society
18th Shard replied to skaa's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
Even a stick. I would like to question the ICAS on its policies on the scientific uses of Investiture. We at the DA appreciate the lack of leadership - in fact, Voidus is merely the first lurker, not the most chief. Deference to him is only in respect of his long-standing membership of the guild, much as skaa does here. The second Resolution, that of scientific Inquiry, is a goal I feel closely aligns with DA goals. We in the Dark Alley strive to discover the potentially life saving benefits of Hemalurgy. I believe our goals differ on but a single point, namely, that of the use of Investiture. We in the Dark Alley strive to use Hemalurgy for the benefit of all. Respectfuly, the Dark Alley also requests our bamboo-loving associate be allowed use of a small piece of Gold to enable quick healing of his legs. Also, what is the ICAS's policy on copperclouds and Leechings? I believe these would enable the ICAS to remove Investiture from their body in an easy and efficient way. -
Unfortunately, Cheese, under Paragraph 3 Concession 76 of the following Article, all Hemalurgic operations, including those of Catquisitiors, is policed under the jurisdiction of the Dark Alley due to copyright infringement issues. While said trials sound horrific, I have already done those. I have successfully created a mini-play, depicted to an audience of Lifeless, of a lowly Dark Alley acolyte reading Twilight, listening to German scream metal, and singing in an opera as a side character to the tragedy unfolding. These trials were magnificently performed by the Seon Sheo in a Broadway style film. Thus were the trials performed. Entry fees for later showing include a soul (undamaged), a new baking recipe, and large quantities of Aluminum. I would also like to extend a warm welcome to the Caton of Inquisiiton, a guild formed upon the principles of devotion of Hemalurgy. If the Caton would like to see those Chromium spikes currently in use by the werewolf "Winter", which transmuted her form from that of a human to a creature capable of free interchange between a human and lupine form, as well as species specific abilities, you are all invited for cookies and milk (neither of which is intended as a slur to the feline culture). I am also sure such spikes effecting a similar transformation between a human and cat could be created, providing permanent version of Tempus's Forgeries. We would always love such interesting and like-minded customers in the Dark Alley. Also, any scientific documentation of spike placement or development from the Caton that you would be willing to share for the sake of science would be appreciated as a mutual benefit for the future development of Hemalurgy.

People you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley

If she attacks, she won't have Dor resistance. Aon Daa with a few Rao modifiers should stop almost everything, save for those with the you-know-whats from Alley you know-where. -
Because salesmanship. Anyone want a cookie?

Snoopy? What do you think of combining Dakhor with her current abilities? The enhanced bones would be an interesting ability. Also, in response to what you posted in the Anti-bakery: because soothing a spiked creature is so much fun. -

Source Note: Try identifying possible anomalies while Winter is in wolf form with bronze. Perhaps use Biochroma to help stabilize side effects? Is it possible cognitive splicing occured? Check Shadesmar and Winter there. Perhaps a spike enabling basic Dakhor abilities would be desirable. Winter, would Dakhor be tempting in combination with current capabilities? -
I would love to show the Anti-bakery a fail safe way to remove hemalurgic spikes. You see, all you need is double-lerasium strength allomantic iron and duralumin as well as theri respextive feruchemical abilties. We at the DA have some cookies that should enable these biological modifications to all Anti-bakery participants. Disclaimer:

18th Shard replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
Cool. And new invention two: The Cookie Cipher. You see, we in the Dark Alley know that appearances affect purchasability. Therefore, I have created a code that will allow us to say a spike without saying a spike. Behold: Quadrant Physical Metals - White Chocolate Chips Mental Metals - Dark Chocolate Chips Temporal Metals - Milk Chocolate Chips Enhancement Metals - Butterscotch Chips Internal/External Internal - Sugar Cookie Dough External - Chocolate Dough Pushing/Pulling Pulling - Soft Cookie Pushing - Crunchy Cookie For those spikes that steal Allomancy or Feruchemy, which of the four abilities you have spiked out is designated by the box/plate material the cookies come in. Atium - Snickerdoodle Cookie Lerasium - Peanut Butter Cookie So, an order for 13 Steel spikes that steal Allomantic tin: A Baker's Dozen of Crunchy Chocolate Cookies with White Chocolate Chips in a Tin box. -

welcome. Also, ignore those who tell you cookies are bad. They are just jealous. So here have a cookie.

Again, we carefully monitor sanity levels. But as Aristotle said, "No great mind has ever existed without a touch of madness.” Also,“Great minds that are healthy are never considered geniuses, while this sublime qualification is lavished on brains that are often inferior but are slightly touched by madness.” by Guy de Maupassant.
