Can Ferv make mini-versions of himself? Then the mini-Fervs could make mini-mini-Steelhearts. Or more mini-mini-Fervs...which could make mini-mini-mini-Fervs. Great. Thanks to math, I am now thinking about the mass that these smaller and smaller Fervs would approach. It's supposed to be summer!

It's not like I could get some really nice spikes and motivators when the Epics attack of course....
-
New Epic for the idea list: Fastchance. His ability is speeding up games of chance such as rock-paper-scissors, rolling a die, or randomly picking a number. He can also see the eventual outcomes for these events instantly. Great. Now I can't stall for time like Voidus.
-
So Voidus, which of your many Epics would kill you first?
-
Anonymous Readers: PLEASE do not post youtube videos of you being Nighthound. We would like to keep that horror contained after Calamity. Which Epic do you think would kill Voidus first?
-
How old was the Unicyclist when he began to unicycle like this? If Calamity is in the future, we can use the Cyclist's approximate age to figure out when the world is going to end.

I just realized something amazing, something world-shattering. From the Letter: Kobold is the recipient of the letter. You may thank me in upvotes.
-
Really? I was under the impression that it only mattered if you had to mentally direct it, but things like the guns and gravitonics didn't matter as far as being an Epic. Either way, they have advanced enough tech to hide his face. And I understand Jumpdrive isn't going to hide for very long - just long enough to get some crucial intel. Edit : what exactly are the Metal's powers? The pressure he applies should just convert to binary once it would cause injury or death, but I don't remember how he does everything else exactly.
-
I think Jumpdrive will be an enemy Epic who has an illusion-Epic based technology. He uses this to try and infiltrate the government. Any Astoria attackers want to have him be hired by your Epic? I tried to make him pretty defensive - his real weapon is knowledge. Of course, getting rid of him is a pain, like glitter in soup.
-
Sorry if I was unclear, I meant it forms a forcefield around him. The forcefield just blocks them from hitting him for the first say 20 hits, and after this I had it absorbing a handful of cells each hit - not a lot. This also only applies to living matter - if he's being hit with a baseball bat, the bat and not the arm busts.
-
Are you saying she would cancel out his abilities or that he would know everyone's abilities? His eidetic memory isn't an Epic power, he had it prior to being an Epic, it was just enhanced on being an Epic.
-
Well, then he can defect and hold tons of valuable info on the governments inner workings. [insert plot device - knowledge character should not know for any reason]
-
I'm thinking of adding a Lucentia-allied character after a little while (not sure how active I'll be over the summer) into Astoria. Modeled on Voidus's Lexicographer from his long-list-that-contains-a-fraction-of-his-ideas-©, Jumpdrive will be an intelligence agent - His Primary power used in these operations is known as downloading - merely by touching a non-animate object containing information (e.g. books, computers, papers, or drawings), he 'downloads' the entire thing to his eidetic memory. His Prime Invincibility - this is Astoria, where everyone has PI's - is a danger-initiated encoding, in which any non-Living objects are halted when they touch him, transforming into a series of green 1's and 0's (how will the Financier deal with that? ) which remain hovering around him. He can then undo this transformation, though this takes some time. Living entities which attack him are stopped - a green Firewall blocks these from hitting him. After repeated attempts, the Firewall will recognize the person as a virus and absorb a small portion of them after every attack. this image looks like the binary around him, albeit without an opaque background, and the firewall looks like a droideka forcefield, but green. Edit: Grammar and Pic

The shards' intent have a massive role on the way you access the magic though.

In the annotations, Brandon actually says that Torina (that's how its spelled, right? Haven't read Elantris for a while) is Eventeo's spy. He originally had her revealing this, but then scaled back the Brandalanche. Hoid could still have a Seon though. Here's the quote from the Annotations. Elantris spoilers, obviously.
-
True. I think I'll make it so that the longer he goes ghost/ more intensely, the less mentally stable he gets. He has to take breaks in between jobs to bring him back down to sanity/stop hearing voices/etc.

Valid points, all. I was thinking along the same lines as Edgedancer as far as the weakness. I looked at it like my baby brother's fear of dogs/cats: he's fine with them when they are far a few feet away, nervous but not really freaking out, but as soon as the dog gets closer he starts freaking out and crying. I felt that it was more of a gradient of fear - he has that trauma from the venom when he sees it, but he's able to sort of hold it together for a little while, but when it's injected, he completely freaks out and has a panic attack. If you guys don't think that it would work, I can change it. I still like the Ghost as an Epic, but I'd probably have to make him able to deliberately turn on/off his passive - maybe make it so he loses touch with reality the more he is in ghost mode? What do you think of his position in Corvallis? Edit: to clarify, being bit by a rattlesnake could be his actual weakness.
-
I had an idea for an Epic. I wanted an Epic who knew their weakness and used the fact that it was his weakness to his advantage, like if Superman used kryptonite to some advantage. So here it is: The Ghost Primary: Enhanced Physicality - More so in agility and speed than strength, though both are enhanced. Secondary: Enhanced Senses - think Tineye Passive: The more the Ghost uses his abilities, the less he interacts with the real world - smells and tastes fade away completely first, then sounds and tangibility, and finally visibility. All fade simultaneously, they just fade away at different rates, so they are gone completely in the above order. Weakness: Unsure - I want something that I can have two layers of interaction with (I was thinking maybe rattlesnake venom - seeing it nullifies passive, being injected with it nullifies his active abilities.) MO: Goes intangible, sneaks in, pulling out a hidden dagger and [venom?], therefore going tangible and kills someone. He has learned various assassin techniques. Affiliations: Corvallis, Government, perhaps?

I think I will wait until Converter has been captured to reincarnate - is he being taken to a secure location or incarcerated where he is?

Where are the food safety inspectors?

Of course it is long. It has significant benefits that may react in complicated ways depending on the person. The Dark Alley tries to keep all legal disputes out of the way so we can focus on developing science. Also, how would you sense the spikes? They are definitely masked between three alternate realities and a large amount of sugar. Try one, I guarantee it won't do anything*. *Anything restricted to only those things currently unanticipated in Level 83 Testing.- 16 replies

Eh, the fights pretty close to over. Heatsink would also be really interesting with Converter, Phoenix, and some of the other Epics. He could come in as one of Converter's restrainers.
