  1. Houston we have a problem. You sent me a link to the Wrong House doc! I have access to a Minor House doc, instead of my house. Even worse, I have learned extremely sensitive information from that doc. I'm being vague on purpose, but suffice to say this shouldn't have happened. What should I do?
  2. The GM list is on the General Rules Thread, which seems kind of silly to me. Can we move it over here?
  3. Asyr was feeling lost. He had never been good at memorizing names, and it seemed that everyone was younger than him, except for Lady Morinthe, of course. One of them even had a stuffed animal! He smiled as the disheveled man rudely insulted that boy who had rudely ignored him. He decided to greet this intriguing newcomer. "Ah, hello there. I couldn't help but hearing your argument with that arrogant prick (No offense Gamma) The enemy of my enemy is my friend, so I think we should work well together. I am Asyr Tuy. You are?"
  4. Great game everyone. It was fun spectating this crazy ride.
  5. There's one thing I'm curious about. Why did Gambling give such a small reward? 1 coin wasn't really worth the risk, and it made Loaded Dice useless. I would recommend increasing the reward if we ever run this game again.
  6. Asyr Tuy calmly walked into the room. His enemies were huddled in groups, discussing their strange invitations. He chose to ignore them for now. Their conversation bored him. It didn't matter why they were gathered here; he only intended to profit from it. He smiled as he saw a young man, foppishly dressed, standing by himself, trying to fit in "Ah, there you are!" Fien looked around, before his eyes narrowed as he saw the 51 year-old man approaching him. "Look. I could ask you what your name is, or where you're from, but frankly, I don't care. You need an ally, and I can provide that. I know you don't trust me. Hell, you shouldn't trust me. But, it would be a mistake to turn down my offer" Asyr gestured to the gathering crowd. "This pack of wolves will tear you apart unless you can defend yourself. I could protect you, if I wanted to. Sadly, I don't think I will. I could be persuaded to change my mind however. Tell me, why are you so important? I've done my research. You're a small house, yet you somehow get invited to play with the big boys. Why? If you can explain, you have my friendship. Stick with me, and your house will multiply tenfold. So tell me. Won't you?"
  7. Hey... I noticed you don't have my location on here. I'm living in St. Louis Missouri, in the USA.
  8. So this is starting July 3rd? While I'm still tempted to sign up, I don't think that's going to work for me. I won't be back home until July 6th. Ah well, have fun guys.
  9. Ummm... What time is this game starting? I just remembered that I will be out of town next week, so if it starts then, I will not be able to participate. That would suck, but real life is more important than this.
  10. Saor is signing up. This quiet scholar had one too many drinks, and before he knew what was happening, he somehow signed up to be a pirate. He spends half of his time on the ship getting drunk, and the other half wishing he hadn't gotten drunk.
  11. There's several actually, but it's easier for me to just link to the thread discussing them.
  12. One suggestion: Can the prospective GMs put a short description of their game after their spot in the queue. I just want to know what's coming down the pipeline. Also: Sign me up to run a Quick-Fix/Mid-Range game. It's the Rithmatist Elimination game I've been working on. Let me know which format will need more GMs, and I can just the rules accordingly.
  13. I don't have the Word of Brandon with me, but the 4th expanse (whose name is covered up by the word "Shadesmar") is the Expanse of Vibrance, which makes sense for Elsecallers and Lightweavers, since they control light. It looks like the Expanses line up well with the powers next to them. I'm not sure what to make of this. For those of you don't know, Expanses correspond in some way to other Shardworlds. It's interesting that powers line up to other worlds...
  14. See, this is why you shouldn't trust a man whose name is just "Smar(t) As(s)" spelled backwards. I somehow got into a really good position this game, since either the Darkeyes or Sharders were going to win late in the game. I would have betrayed the 17th shard, but when Rengar switched, it was smooth sailing for us. No offense, I think the 17th Shard should be removed from this type of game, and just have them be regular spies. GG everyone.
  15. That's the other guy in the Darkened doc... so that would still give them the advantage.
  16. Don't kill me. The Darkeyes are trying to clear their doc of Sharers, so they can conspire against you. They have a GB to spook Tulia, and if they get the vote, I'll be dead (I'm already spooked). Then they can coordinate and win the game. Don't let that happen,
  17. Shoot, I keep forgetting to log onto this thread. I keep getting distracted with E3.
  18. I don't think you need to do that. I'm probably worrying over nothing. Sorry that wasn't clear. If a player is stunned, their action for that cycle does not count. However, their vote will still go through. This does not roll over to the next cycle. This game originally had a day and night cycle, but I eliminated that in this revision. Actions and votes would be PM'd to me at the same time. I used cycle and day interchangeably in the ruleset, so let me know if that is a problem. The order of actions, as I see it: Lines of Forbiddance, LInes of Vigor, and then everything else, including votes. I've been thinking about permanently setting the chalklings attack strength at the number of Forgotten, so there wouldn't be any randomness there. However, I'm not sure that would be balanced. I think the Rithmatic Scholar should be a dedicated good role at the start. However, one idea that I've been tossing around is giving the Non-Rithmatist a one-time use power of giving a player the Rithmatic Scholar role. That could be an evil twist, especially since he won't know who to trust. Also, I think you're confused about Lines of Silencing. I envisioned that like a Reverser from game 5. If they used that power, their vote would only count double for that turn. There is one thing I'm curious about. I'm worried that the good guys have too much spy power. If they all cast Lines of Making the first day, what is the likelihood that they find a Forgotten? I don't know how to calculate that, but I worry that it's too probable. Anyways, thanks for giving me your thoughts.
  19. I'm thinking about making my Rithmatist game a Quick Fix, and then trying to GM it. However, I'm hesitant to do so for 2 reasons. I have no idea if my game is balanced, since I've never done anything like this before. I'm going to college in the fall, so I don't know if I will have time to run it Anyways, I've made a couple changes to my ruleset, so I guess I'll post it again with the changes in bold, with explanations in parentheses. I think it looks good, but let me know if it still needs some tweaking
  20. Bold letters are annoying "Well, at least that wasn't the worst high storm I've seen" Sarmas smiled. Asphodel's hospitality had been useful, to say the least. Still, it was time for him to leave. "I appreciate your friendship, but staying with each other for this long attracts unwanted attention. I'm going now, although I'd love to see you around. See you, later." With that Sarmas left the kitchen, and headed out into the streets. Who knows what treasure had been tossed by the storm? It was time to go exploring.
  21. What deck color does he normally run? I prefer green white enchantments.
  22. Although Sarams was distracted by the delicious looking breakfast, he saw his rescuer being pursued by one of the bandits. It was the same man he tried to incapacitate earlier. He took his last gemstone, and chucked it at the attacker. It hit him right on the nose, and his neck snapped backwards with a sickening noise. "Well... that wasn't exactly what I was planning." He went over, and picked up the gemstone. as well as some of the thrown rocks. "I think this gemstone is lucky. I'm going to call it Abu." The small man realized he was talking to himself, and remembered his rescuer. "Oh, um, I'm Sarams. I would love to thank you for rescuing me, but we should really go and get some breakfast while there's still time. I'm afraid the mob might eat it up." He hurried in, waiting for the club-wielder to follow him.
  23. As his assailants turned to look at the angry man with a club, Sarams did the only logical thing; he hightailed it out of there. As he ran, he contemplated his current situation. He had just wanted the bandit's food and water. He had tried knocking the first man unconscious, but instead left him with a nasty bruise. And how was he supposed to know that his assailant was leading a five-man thieving crew? Sarams hoped they wouldn't kill his rescuer, but, well, it was every man for himself out here. He dashed through several abandoned streets, and ran smack dab into a small crowd of people begging for what smelled like a delicious breakfast. Sarams looked around; it was a dead end. Well, in times like these... "I hate to bother you, but a couple of well-armed men are trying to kill me. Can we, I don't know, fend them off before they kill all of us?"
  24. I think this game might get the record for most RP in a game. Let's give it even more. Sarams carried the improvised sling, his only weapon in this chaos. He was using spheres as his ammo, since there wasn't anything to buy with them. He had hidden in a narrow alleyway, constantly watching for any signs of violence. It could work as temporary shelter for a highstorm, but it wasn't good for much else. What was he going to do? He had taken a small satchel of food and water, but it was quickly running out. He needed to ally with someone, but who? This riot would be the death of him if he didn't do something. However, it didn't seem like there was anything he could do, so he waited for someone to come.
  25. I'm just checking in. Real life is getting in the way.
