Are we some followers of the Lady Feather, to point fingers and slink about with accusations on our poison lips? No, I say, we will hold court in peace. Our conquering gaze and lashing sword should turn outwards, so we slip the noose of self-devouring intrigue.

    No, he'd be fine. The metal all pierces his skin or is inside his body, remember? He's basically gold compounding + Allomantic tin and Allomantic pewter all the time. Of course, a boosted Inquisitor would have a field day.

    His stuff is classic, and quite good. The Foundation series is nearly entirely worldbuilding, describing a slowly unveiling plan to bring society back from the edge of disaster from the long view. There are some personal segments, involving disruptions in said plan, and it's all very clean and hard prose. It's very...Asimov. The writing style is similar to Larry Niven or Victor Vinge.

    It's a "cast your net wide, even if that means getting a rusting, useless, frayed expanse of threads attached by some distant and convoluted remove" thing. The not that decides who to spam probably picks up on 'magic' and throws all relevantly-tagged posts at it.

    Huh. I think that this sort of thing is going to be left mysterious, to avoid alienating anybody. As an atheist, I would find it quite disappointing if the Cosmere is really just a bunch of Judeo-Christian symbolism wrapped up in euphemism. I can accept there being an afterlife, but I'd expect Brandon to do something original with it or just leave it alone.

    How about a suite of gods of the psyche - or even one, with manifestations tied to an unaware mortal. Thus, when the chosen sleeps, Sleep walks the world. When he wakes, the Woken walks. When he takes drugs, the mighty Trippin Balz strides the planet.
