Gavilar's Shardblade Was An Honorblade (Potential Spoilers)
Aether replied to Smye's topic in Stormlight Archive
Just having fun by stretching the limits of plausibility. But yeah, unlikely. Unless Brandon is really just screwing around.- 25 replies

Pun noted. And I agree with you that Bondsmiths, along with Truthwatchers, would be the prime candidates for the Orders without squires at all. Or alternatively, very few.

I do like G. R. R. Martin, on the other hand. He presents it realistically, and while deaths might be surprising, there are always well founded reasons behind it. Attack on Titan kills people left and right just for the shock value (or at least, way more because of that than any other reason).

Delightful: Pardon this non-sequitor, but I frequently read your Member Title as "Wasting of the readerspren". I find that amusing. Just wanted to share that

Sell. Or buy, if by FIRE you mean Admins. Harmony has frequent arguments with Kelsier's Cognitive Shadow.

Gavilar's Shardblade Was An Honorblade (Potential Spoilers)
Aether replied to Smye's topic in Stormlight Archive
Hey, guys? What if Darkness and that-other-suspected-Herald-maybe-Kalak weren't talking about Szeth and his Blade, but Gavilar's Blade? It seems to be a stretch, but we don't know when one of the Heralds (though Nale is a good guess) went back for his Blade, so even though Gavilar's blade has been in the family for a while, there is a small chance that it just might, maybe, possibly be an Honourblade.- 25 replies

I keep thinking that Renarin might finally align more with his scholarly side when they rediscover how to make the ancient type of fabrial such as Soulcasters and the farials from the "Starfalls" chapter of WoK and the *cough* heavy-spoilerish scene from the end of WoR. It might turn out that he not only have the mind for it, but also the talent. A bit like Elayne and Ter'Angreals from the Wheel of Time. My Lists are becoming a thing!!! Yay! Notoriety!

I don't think I'm ever going to recuperate from Attack on Titan...

The worst part is that given how much time some of us devotes to Cosmere hijinks, this could actually be a successful business enterprise. Limited in length, sure, but he could easily squeeze a hundred dollars from at least some 50-100 of us, if not more, netting him at least five to ten thousand dollars for a few days work.

True, but only when you make others suffer to make them for you. Mine usually taste faintly of cinnamon. Love is a lie, there is only hate. Through my hate, I gain focus. Through my focus, I gain precision. Through precision, I gain consistency. Through consistency, my waffles become amazing. Waffle making shall feed me.

Permit me to jump in and say that this is both one of the most pertinent and eloquent character discussions I've ever seen on this forum, as well as the most civil one. With that out of the way, I think you're touching on the essence of Adolin's character here. To most readers, he doesn't really jump out as one of the more interesting and deep characters, but is in reality a young man with some very deep seated conflicts in his heart/mind. He is (in my opinion) above average intelligence, but has repressed it somewhat due to societal expectations. He tries to seem like a light-hearted and sociable fellow, and while he might have preferred this in the past, recent events have made him realise that he needs closer friends and associates - both from a political and strategic standpoint and a social and personal one. As has been pointed out, I believe most of his love troubles stem from this as well. He hasn't (previously) been terribly interested in whole-heartedly pursuing a romantic interest, and his various flames in term do not seem to have taken Adolin himself terribly seriously. While someone should have at least tried to stick to him a bit more stubbornly, I think that no one has done so so far was mostly because the Kholins already have been social pariahs for some time by the start of the Way of Kings. And in Alethkar, perception and social standing is everything. EDIT: minor grammar.

Oh, we all do accidental down-votes every now and then. Funny enough, it usually results in a net gain in reputation points as people flock to rectify it. Also, welcome to the site, Gavyn! And I'll send an astral hug your way as well.

Woah! You guys take requests? And here I've been tearing by hair out trying to think of something for myself! Well, I'm not funny or imaginative enough to parody my own name, but I'd be interested to see what you guys might be able to think of

Well, they aren't technically attracted to the bacteria themselves, but to the effects infection, rot and sickness produce. Rosharans know nothing of bacteria, but they know about the effects they produce, and they have formed cognitive ideas about different kinds of sickness. Thus Spren are produced, which in term gives the Rosharans a greater causal understanding of health and sickness then our forefathers were able to get. Pardon me for being "that guy", but I am nothing if not meticulous!

Tapped Out or Dragonvale?
Aether replied to Queen Elsa Steelheart's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I don't play tapped out. I've sent you a PM with my Game Center info. My Dragonvale Park is lvl 55, and I've got most dragons except for some of the opposite types, some gemstones and most of the ones added the last few months. -

Do ask her to stop by. And tell her I won't bite, only ever so slightly nibble at her toes. -
Sell, sell, sell, sell! This is Brandon were talking about here. Any mistakes he makes are usually rather small (see Feruchemical brass). The Forum will likely still explode, though. Dragonsteel will contain... Dragons! (Bum, bum, BUUUUHHHHM!)

I thought I had already established that I make my Waffles with hate, not colour recognition! Should work with other waffle making techniques, though.

Cultivation is the Shard in the Silence Divine
Aether replied to Tempus's topic in Cosmere Discussion
We still do not know exactly how he differentiate between lesser and greater Shardworlds, though. First of the sun (the name of the planet) might very well have a Shard, but one that is inconsequential to the rest of the Cosmere.I think t likely that it does not have a full shard, but Brandon has as of yet not given any indication either way.- 18 replies
