  1. That thing is HUGE! Awesome accomplishment though to make something that detailed while loosely defined and have it look that good.
  2. I envision a Highstorm Hampsterball that is big enough for a person and durable enough to let you roll around in a highstorm.... you might get whipped around a good bit though...
  3. Crem-be-gone would be pretty helpful some places! Get Billyllib Mays on the phone!
  4. It is all content from the book that the forum is based on. Literally none of it is spoiler content.
  5. It's a good thought, but there have been a couple conversations on this and they decided that when they merged the two they would just accept that they are not considered spoilers anymore, so it would basically mean there is no spoiler policy in Stormlight Archive either. It makes sense, really. Give everyone a very generous amount of time to read the book where they have specific places to go for safe or dangerous conversation, then merge the two when you're confident everyone has had time to read. At that point, there's no new content (probably for the next full year), so no such thing as spoilers.
  6. I see in your sig that you named yourself Gamon in one of the games. I can't tell you how disappointed I would have been if you had lived through that round. Made me smile to see that Gamon died.

    1. Gamma Fiend

      Gamma Fiend

Aw, what's wrong with the name Gamon? Just means somebody who likes to play games. :D

Oh! It's a pretty well known World of Warcraft character. He used to spawn in an inn and get slaughtered immediately. Became quite a joke. He's been brought back in basically every expansion now.

  7. I posted this same topic like a month ago or something. I'm so sick of it. It shows how little people pay attention to what's going on. New users are just excited to post and stuff like that, which is completely understandable, but moderators have made a point to post several times that the WoR board is full of spoilers. The description even says that you are going there at your own risk and there will be no pity for those who wander there without looking at the rules. GreyPilgrim makes a good point about the new topics list, another totally understandable concern, but at some point we need to consider the combination of reality and responsibility. The reality of the matter is that most people coming to this forum have either read Words of Radiance (most likely) or are coming here for another book and should understand not to browse the forums specifically for other books. Responsibility comes into play there, too. DON'T GET ON THE INTERNET AND SEARCH FOR THINGS IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS. If you are that sensitive to learning the content early, be responsible and actively avoid them. It's not the job of the community to make sure you hear things precisely when you get around to reading. This site already does a great job warning people without writing spoilers in front of every single post. If I seem passionate about this topic it is only because it is a small part that so easily displays the larger problem of people (especially on the internet) not taking accountability for their actions and expecting others to cater to them. 8. Gavilar is no doubt involved in all of this, but he was also the king of maybe the greatest nation on Roshar. He might be involved with them naturally due to his position. The wealth and diplomatic power alone make him the perfect candidate for goals so large as the ones held by those groups.
  9. It's a cool idea, Moog. That epigraph note makes me think that, if it fits, it would be one Herald planning all of this out, not an organized thing. If Jezrien murdered Taln and then convinced the rest of his plan, they'd be much more likely to accept it as he is their leader. Jezrien could be the one that is the traitor. I had assumed it would be Nalan for other reasons, but that works too. As this is obviously a theory, I don't need to tell you how unlikely this is or question the stability of your evidence - if you had all of the proper evidence, there would be no discussion, because it would be fact - so I will just say that it's an interesting thought and definitely not impossible.
  10. They basically consider me family because I've spent enough money on their games to feed their families for a month.
  11. Specifically says Alpha testing both in game and in news reports.
  12. I got into the Alpha test and was hoping someone on here might have gotten in as well. None of my friends got in and it's not exactly easy to find games without a group sometimes. I'm kind of horrid at it, but much better at these types of games when I can work with someone. Let me know as you get invites!
  13. Yikes, glad I didn't decide to buy the books. I'll steer clear. I think it is safe to say most of us have similar tastes, so don't feel like you ruined a potentially good time or anything. I'm a big boy.
  14. That was one of the most frustrating things I've ever seen or heard.
  15. It's mentioned by Kvothe's father via Kvothe, and agreed upon by Chronicler at the beginning of NotW that stories require some embellishment or even lies to be believable. It's a good line too. Something about too much truth sounding unbelievable or something like that. Anyway, I'm rereading these and decided it's almost obvious that Kvothe's mother is Natalia Lackless. Never caught the poem line that Argent described in an early post, but it's icing on the cake - and pretty cool icing at that. That would mean that Kvothe is nobility though, which is great because I believe it gives him some reasonable excuse to kill a king that technically should be behind him in line for the throne *cough* AMBROSE *cough*. I like that theory the best so far. I can't see Kvothe killing a king and then Ambrose taking the throne and Kvothe being like - "Oh, that's chill I guess. I'll go mope somewhere." I see it more like Ambrose is the king to be killed and there will be something down the line that keeps Kvothe from doing the deed - hence this depression. I expect it will be something like Denna sides with Ambrose or something Denna related. It will kind of be Kvothe's fault though. A rehash of his "binding the air in my own lungs" incident. He has too much power and is stupid with it and causes some bad scenario. Also, my first thoughts for the "ring unworn" portion of that poem were more literal. We know of a ring unworn literally being Denna's ring. A more symbolic ring unworn might be Kvothe's parents being married but not officially. Haven't really thought it through much. Not sure how significant either could be in context.
  16. Quick, someone get to cracking the code. Maybe it is an anagram.
  17. It exceeded my expectations which were, admittedly, low. I found it to be a much more entertaining story than I had planned. I actually came out of it feeling hopeful for the next film. Divergent is more of a teen book series, so I can understand some of this, but the movie came of extremely cheesy several times. If they catch a couple of those on the next film, it will be fantastic. The characters were pretty good though. Honestly, my favorite actor of all of them was they Dauntless instructor (not the main character one). He was phenomenal and being a jerk - very believable. Considering picking up the other books, but I kind of need movies that I don't already know the story to, hahaha.
  18. It sends me to a single 8 minute track that specifically says only 1 8 minute track.
  19. People keep taking that WoB to mean it is unlikely, but he doesn't say that at all. In fact the word plausible is supposed to be taken with an air of probable. He took this back once he said it and used the word "possible" instead. How does that mean unlikely? My hope is actually that they will be the spren responsible for the Void equivalent of the Bondsmiths, but for now they fit the mold better than others despite their allegiances. In fact even their allegiances fit. As I said earlier, Stormfather is not at all pro-human at this point. At most he has ever felt bad for them (in the series of events we have seen).
  20. Echos are a cool concept. There is also the Ring organization, which sounds like a group of spren, but I don't think they are of the same calibur as someone like the stormfather or the Nightwatcher. Now that I think about it, if you bonded the Nightwatcher, you would probably have some crazy boon/curse going on. Maybe Mr. T is a candidate?
  21. I feel ya. I can hardly think of a character that I'm even cheering for anymore. That and the last two books were just so sloooooow. I have hopes that GRRM will take the criticism and pick up the pace, especially considering how much needs to happen. But I'm one of those people who has to read the entire story unless it gets absolutely unbearable. It almost got to that point with Wheel of Time, but I stuck it out (after a 4 year break) and I am so happy that I did. So the excitement that I feel is really just a bit of "Wow, there is direct evidence that he is writing." The new season of the show is going to be so good though. Finally my favorite character is on screen. OBERYN!!!!!!!!
  22. I agree. The others seem to be more sentient, have noticeable effects (e.g. a huge storm) and are somewhat mobile. We don't know that much about Big C, but he hasn't fit these qualities really. BUT that is also operating off of the assumption that the others will be like the Stormfather. That's not even close to a proven thing. For all we know, the Nightwatcher doesn't qualify but Big C does. Hard to find patterns with only one data point.
