Talenel'Elin's madness WOR spoilers
Gamma Fiend replied to SmurfAquamarineBodies's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I may be wrong, but is there a WoB out there that basically says Odium isn't technically on Roshar right now? I thought maybe Ashyn, or whatever one of those other planets in the Greater Roshar system are called. Because if we was still contained on that planet nearby, then he could still maybe have some reach to Roshar like we're currently seeing, and not him being totally invested. Like I said, I could be completely wrong. I remember having a hard time of keeping up with him. "Where in the Cosmere is Odium san Diego?" -
Talenel'Elin's madness WOR spoilers
Gamma Fiend replied to SmurfAquamarineBodies's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I do remember something mentioning how this time Odium has basically just been chilling back, letting humans destroy themselves. Wasn't it worded like, "He realized you would do his work for him" or something along those lines? That and the letter mentioning how Odium is contained or invested in another system, so his reach isn't as strong. So that extended time period, in addition to the 9x level of torture means a very broken Herald. -
Long Game 3: Blackwater Village
Gamma Fiend replied to Peng the Just's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Mabi - (3) - Clan, Asp, Xaneth Erendi - (2) - Meta, Bartson Forage - (1) - Wark Clan - (1) - Maw No Kill - (3) - Raubber, Alon, Joe Gamut went and quickly tacked up a list of the current vote tally. (By my count, let me know if you notice an error. I just looked at what's in Red, not counting the retracted votes up). "So that's yer plan, Meta? Have Erendi get strung up? In my experience, it's a lot harder to get rid of votes than to cast them. Some people might not have time to change their votes before the end of the day, and we'll have hung a random villager. I hope he's Spiked, but as of right now, that's just a guess. I knew a guy who liked to Gamble once. He put all of his money into the wrong people and got everybody killed. I won't make that mistake." OOC: Because it will be a lot easier to discuss. I understand you saying we need to cast suspicions to get discussion flowing, to find discrepancies and all that. But I wanted to avoid that so Bandwagoning doesn't happen, which has already started with Erendi. You claim you can and will change your vote before it "gets too bad", but your initial vote is what's causing that to happen. Wouldn't not voting to prevent a useless death be better than killing at random? As the votes stand, any Emotional Allomancers can swing this any way they want too, which will probably be in the Spiked's favor. Now, what I want to find out who we can start trusting. We have two tineyes apparently. So what are the chances one of them are Spiked? How likely is it that both of them are on the Villagers side? Without a Seeker, and the Mistborn only able to use their Seeking powers once every week cycle, proving Roles and alignment is going to be pretty difficult if not impossible. Edit: Well Joe just retracted his vote, kind of killing some/most of my argument. But still. Meh. Edit 2: Updated: Any my beautiful Death Ketek is back and more beautiful than ever!- 739 replies

Adolin radiant or NOT? (SPOILER WOR)
Gamma Fiend replied to Bobobagins's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think there's definitely something there between Adolin talking to his Blade. The whole mindset of "I don't know it's name" is just very different from all other Shardbearers, and I think he will somehow end up reviving his Shardblade into a Spren. BUT then there is also the potential for Adolin going down that "darker" path. If The Kaladin/Shallan thing goes any further, Adolin could get pretty upset and jealous. (Ya know, all those storming Radiants hanging out, thinking they're better than him). I still think he can be KR material though. I'm just gonna be waiting for in book 3 when somebody just randomly finds an Oathbringer just chilling outside and is just like, "Uhm. What?" -
I'm not gonna lie. I'm kind of disappointed in all of you. I mean, it's been four whole days, and you still don't have this code cracked? Forshame! No, but seriously. This has all been great work, everybody. I could never imagine doing something like this, I am nowhere near that awesome. (Oh, and you are a very mean person, Mr. Sanderson)

Long Game 3: Blackwater Village
Gamma Fiend replied to Peng the Just's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Gamut sighed. This is what you get by trying to take control and protect people. You try and be the glue. And people make you out to be some bloody sprectre. He was starting to get be wary of this Meta, fellow, though. Good thing hiding things was what Gamut was best at. "If anything, I'm beginning to suspect this so-called detective." *Ahem* He cleared his throat and began to read from a scrap piece of paper he produced from his pocket. "If no one speaks up against a lynch, then you're likely doing the work of these killers for them. They are a devious lot and they relish in letting us kill each other. As I write this, they will know these thoughts and try to confuse you, but be wary."... sound familiar, Meta? Those are your words. Remember, be nice. He could still be on your side, even if he does give you a headache. Gamut had to remind himself, some people still thought this was just a game. "But you've got me full attention now, Meta. Don't worry, ye ain't got me Black Spot just yet. But I'm voicing me thoughts, savvy?" This is too big for me to flee. I have to stay and remain in the centre. Gamut stopped and looked inside himself for the hidden answers. This time,he knew he wasn't going to be second last. 'E was the key. OOC: I'm just trying to make Gamut sound a little huffy Trying to play up on the Detective and me hiding my shady past gambit. XD. Writing RP like a pirate can sometimes be a little cryptic. Edit: Grammar. :/ Hidden Code of my Role.- 739 replies

[Full book spoilers] Hidden heralds in WoR?
Gamma Fiend replied to Everstorm's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think the woman being Hoid's age is Cultivation. I believe Hoid is much older than the Heralds, since Honor and Roshar and such were the results of Adonalsium splintering, which we know Hoid was present for. Do we know if any of the other Worldhoppers are from Yolen as well, or are they all people from other subsequent Shardworlds? Edit:  Dang. Got Ninja'd twice. -
I like it. It sounds about right. Sizgil's reaction definitely cements Lunu'anaki being Hoid, I think. (Also, I love how that somewhat looks very similar to Loki, God of Mischief.) And that being The Peaks being some sort of Shardpool... I have always wondered how people Worldhop. Like, we know people do. And they (probably, most likely) go through Shadesmar somehow. But how do they decide or figure out where in that World they'll arrive at? Shardpools being Foci for Worldhoppers makes sense, to me, in a way. So, yes. Total upvote for that.

I wonder how long until Szeth just earns the nickname, "Everstorm"?

Last night I was thinking how to fit the Synod and Kandra into a game together. Along with the 3rd, evil spiked team of course. I'm not sure exactly how to make Feruchemy powers fill all of the roles required. We'd only need the basic ones we've been using so far. Tin: Same as tineye Zinc: mental speed. Maybe make this the detective, somehow? (you're fast mental thinking has allowed you to deduce their Alignment, but not their role, maybe?) Gold: Like a thug, can survive an extra hit or two (depends on how we work out "charging metalminds") Pewter: We'll have to make this the Vigilante. Steel or Iron: Not sure how we could work those in at all. And then I'm stuck on the emotional allomancy roles we've been using. Not sure how to substitute those, exactly. (I like how Duralumin sounds in the other game, though. We'll have to wait and see how it pans out) And then the Kandra, I was thinking that could be an interesting dynamic since they'll have a smaller team, but will be undetectable. And whenever somebody (or someone with a role) dies, one of the Kandra can maybe consume the body and get stronger? (each body they consume gives one of them an extra blessing, each can get up to so many blessings). Not sure how the blessings would work out yet, either. This would also have to be a pretty large game for all of this to work out. Thoughts?

See. Something has just been bugging me. Everstorm. That's what they're called, but it seems like they're just redder, flashier versions of highstorms. Just coming from the opposite direction. That alone doesn't imply everstorm. I think, personally -- for no actual reason -- that the everstorm will be slightly different. First. We don't know exactly how the Highstorms work. Are they constant, (i.e., they had ONE origin, then spread East-to-West, across Roshar, all the way around the world, and then back to the East Coast after picking up momentum in the open ocean)? Or do they just originate from the Origin like pulses, being sent out across the land before dying out in the Western Ocean. I think there is an important difference there. One that separates a Highstorm from an Everstorm. What IF. Highstorms are caused by the latter. Different storms coming from the same Origin being pulsed out (or whatever you want to call it.) So an Everstorm would be the opposite. A Storm that's always blowing. Forever. So as the Everstorm makes it way around the world, it should grow in strength. It will get bigger. It won't stop. I think that's the danger of the Everstorm. Not just a storm that blows the other way and can have even more catastrophic results when it clashes with a regular Highstorm, but a Storm that keeps growing and becoming more dangerous. (And then the whole transforming docile Parshmen slaves into crazy, lightning-wielding Voidbringers thing) Again, I have no real basis for this "theory". Just a feeling.

Also, do we know who Nazh is, definitively, yet? And when I was reading Shallan's descriptions of all the odd things Mraize owns, I was definitely getting a "worldhoppy" vibe. Edit: But I do think Mraize's quote about "him living in his city with his music" (or whatever) is a reference to Mr. T. Just, city of bells. Makes sense to me. :/

Long Game 3: Blackwater Village
Gamma Fiend replied to Peng the Just's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well now. People are finally getting the right sense of things. Was what Gamut thought to himself after Mabi's request for a List. Lists were always the obvious superior method for disseminating information. Unlike those archaic tables some people prefer. Gamut shuddered at the thought of information a skewed as such. "Now. As for who declared to be protecting our dear Captain Cyrus." Gamut said, posting up a list for everyone to see. Dane Mabi Joe Vizzinni Maw Wark Xaneth All of the above 7 openly volunteered to protect our leader. And Maw and Vron were overheard by many muttering they wanted to help, but were going to wait and watch and do so in their own ways. There were a few other mutterings of people who thought it was a bad idea to do so. I am still compiling that information and will update the list promptly. "Next," Gamut said, "We have votes and suspicions already being thrown around. I will display those as of so far, as well." He begins to quickly review everything and begins drawing up a list when he notices out of the corner of his eye Joe tacking up a list of his own with all of the votes so far. What is this? Gamut asks himself, A rival ListMaker, hm? Poor form. There's not even any bullet-points or color-coding or anything. If he had time, he would put him under his tutelage and teach him the proper art of ListMakingTM. But for now, there was just so little time, and it wasn't worth re-doing any work that somebody has already done. "I may be skilled in redundancy, but it doesn't mean I practice it." Gamut muttered, walking away and shaking his head. "Me still thinks us throwing these Black Spots around is a bad idea," he warned everybody near him in a louder voice, "I said I support open discussion of our suspicions and getting people to talk and catch them in lies. But you'll accost me for not throwing any names out there myself? He chuckled and pulled out one of his cigaros and lit it up. "The fact is, I haven't thrown any names around because I have no solid information. Blind accusations like that will do us no good. As long as there are votes up on the board, any Emotional Allomancers can have their way with the vote. And it'd be foolish to consider the Spiked not having at least one of those. We will get justice for Cyrus. But if we just move forward based on whim and not evidence at this point, we are no better than these traitorous spiked monsters."- 739 replies

I don't know where else I can say this, but... Is anybody else kind of disappointed we only had half a chapter to look forward to a future of Lopen including Kaladin in on his one-armed Herdazian jokes? Edit: And now Lopen won't even be making those anymore. *sigh*

Szeth's Unique Aquisition (SPOILERS!!!!!!)
Gamma Fiend replied to Swimmingly's topic in Stormlight Archive
My head exploded when I read that page. I do believe a long while back in my Cosmere Battle Royale Thread, Mikanium postulated this; And while Szeth doesn't have an Oathstone to follow.... I think him and NB will get alone just fine. -
So is there just some sort of Cosmere-wide Fedex mail delivery system?

Long Game 3: Blackwater Village
Gamma Fiend replied to Peng the Just's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Gamut had seen all of this before. The mistrust. Betrayals. And death. Those would be the only things that would follow these chains of events. Gamut had seen it happen countless times before. And he had been powerless to stop it. Not this time. He silently vowed. I will not let this happen again. People were already beginning to voice suspicions, calling for the lynching of somebody -- anybody -- just as long as the bloodlust was sated. How many innocent heads would roll before they realized this wasn't the path to take? How many would wear the Nooseman's Necktie before they saw the errors of their ways? "Voting for people right now only does the Spiked's work for them!" Gamut exclaimed, striding forward to the center of the room. "I wholely condone and support the idea of discussion and anlayises..... anal-.... an-...." he trailed off and looked over at Meta. "Pssht. Hey. Detective. What's the word I'm looking for? Oh. Right. Analysis!" He pounded his fist in his hands and continued on his tirade. "We need to analyze what everybody's been saying. Where they been, who they been talking to. That sorts of info. We need to catch them in a lie." He gestured wildly in a grand arc, encompassing everybody in the room, "But I say we do not string up one of our mates until everybody's had their word. "Now where's that bartender? All this talking has worked up me a thirst."- 739 replies

Long Game 3: Blackwater Village
Gamma Fiend replied to Peng the Just's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Wow. They really got the Seeker on their first night? Has anybody told anyone else their roles yet? Or was that just the luckiest shot the Spiked could make? Also, looks like we have two tineyes. Oh, and Lent dropping out will really suck if he's a villager also. I think we'll need every advantage we can get this game... Edit: Just for fairness, if Lents did happen to be a Misting, if he legit has to drop out of the game, maybe have a regular 'snap' and gain his power? Just so the teams remain balanced. (But if Lents was a spiked, then just leave it as is.)- 739 replies

Long Game 3: Blackwater Village
Gamma Fiend replied to Peng the Just's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Alright. My first questions will be: Are Seeker, Lurcher, and Coinshot all "safe" roles like in the first game? (Only villagers and not spiked could have those powers) They are listed in bold, unlike all the other roles (except for the new ones, of course. Which then we have to try and determine if those are also villager-only roles or not as well). Or will Peng be devious and purposely not let us know for sure? Also, how many Spiked do we think there are this game? If it has similar proportions to the first game, we should have at least 4, and maybe even 5. (Definitely more than the two revealed in the write-up, I think) Umm. I'm trying to think of anything else we should try and get clarified at the beginning of the game before we accidentally hang a few of our own and then start asking questions. Can anybody think of anything else?- 739 replies

You will see in the Spiked Doc we discussed the Evils of Tables, and how Lists are Superior in multiple ways. And split it into two defining doctrines: Listology and Tableism. Let the crusades begin.
