The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon
GreyPilgrim replied to Chaos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Thanks, Weiry. -
Double post, but it's totally different content. Patrick has revealed the cover to The Slow Regard of Silent Things on his blog, as well as providing some explanation of it. The cover is pretty good looking. Check it out.

The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon
GreyPilgrim replied to Chaos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
(I feel like someone must have asked this before, but if not:) Is cross-Shardworld breeding possible? I.e., could a Scadrian have a child with a Nalthian? If so, in the above case, could one be born with a Breath as well as the potential to use the Metallic Arts? -
You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

When your family is talking about ear piercings and you automatically wonder if someone with Realmatic healing had a piercing that they didn't use and thus didn't really view themselves a pierced would have their piercing sealed. -
WOK/WOR vs.Warbreaker (spoilers included)
GreyPilgrim replied to Airsick Lowlander's topic in Warbreaker
And so another is revealed to the truth of the works of Sanderson... The others have been covered already, but the use of shash in both worlds is (I believe) a coincidence. Follow Moogle's advice and (if you haven't already) read Mistborn, as well as Elantris if you wish. Then take a look through the Cosmere 101 thread and the Coppermind for explanation and more info. -
I guess I'll go as Greggin in this game. It's been so long since I read Elantris, I hope I can do a little RP to keep it fun. I may not even bother, though, since this will go by so quickly. So if we get at least two more players in today, we'll start in about 27 hours? Hope we get some more.

It's not that Stormlight has an official intoxicating effect. It's just that Lightflame is crazy. His entire purpose on this forum is to come on every now and then and post something insane from the recesses of his mind, whatever he is on. I must say, though. With Lopen out glowing now and other squires, the Cobalt Guard may well need regulations to prevent alcohol-induced flying crashes.

So Arbiter is pretty cool. Go Rose Empire! (Although all the arbiters are pretty corrupt.)

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
GreyPilgrim replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you read this Brandon interview and, seeing that the fatal error of transposing "Realmatic" as "romantic" was made, leave a comment (under the name "Sanderfan" no less) reporting to the site the error of their ways. Yes, that was me. I may be whiny, but I need my facts correct. SFFWorld was wrong, and I needed to fix that. -
Where's WalDo: The Kandra Worldhopper
GreyPilgrim replied to Kobold King's topic in Cosmere Discussion
'Tis the stuff of nightmares, my friend. -
I must say, great job, guys! This thread is amazing and terrifying at the same time. It is basically 17th Shard condenses into a single thread. This thread represents everything this site is: a sanctuary for the many insane fans of Brandon Sanderson and all of their differences. Everyone here has something great about them, and this lets us all shine! It is also threads like this that must terrify Brandon. That anyone is willing to this in-depth into his works is kind of frightening. We are like a fanatic cult, more than a simple fan base.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

When, walking through the streets of Paris, you see the word "gaz" everywhere on the ground and every single time think of a great, somewhat endearing, complex, one-eyed Rosharan. -
Where's WalDo: The Kandra Worldhopper
GreyPilgrim replied to Kobold King's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Dear Harmony... The idea of Parshquisitors gives me chills... -
Spren seems like a viable enough option, based on what is said above. Kind of repeating what Moogle said in the OP, but I don't think that the writer is a Worldhopper, as he/she uses "us" to refer to Rosharans. Thus unless there is a Rosharan Worldhopper we don't know about, it is not a Worldhopper, and that wouldn't really matter because he/she would appear as a regular Rosharan to us. I wonder if these are compilations of Death Rattles. If you take bits of them, they kind of have the same flavor as those do. Regardless, the Rattles are reflections of real things, so the "we" referred to would still have to be an actual group, such as spren or a secret society.

Where's WalDo: The Kandra Worldhopper
GreyPilgrim replied to Kobold King's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Nothing more that I feel I can add at this point, just want to say way to go, guys! Your ability to find things like this so quickly astounds me. Technically, the name is Re-Sephir. It does still sound and look like a kandra name, but with the dash it's not exactly the same. But make any conspiracies you want to. Wild speculation is in the nature of a Sharder. -
Hi all. I was off the map for a while, so didn't get to do a goodbye post. It was a good game, no hard feelings against any of you. I was pretty much the best choice based on the general information at the time. Now that I have a feeling for the game in general I hope I can do better in the next ones! Thank you all for a great game!

Count me in!

I realized I didn't make this clear before: I had two Breaths when I transferred them to Aodan. I gave them to him because I figured it was better to give them to someone than leave them in me when I might die over the next week.

Hmmm... I wonder why the Most Ancient is considered so powerful. Above a Mistborn.

Grim's mind was swimming with all that hat occurred. Several people dead, the cook Aili actually a Returned, Jeo a Pahn Kahl... It was almost too much to deal with. And now votes had been cast upon him. He had done the best he could to defend himself. He hoped he did not become a casualty to this violent conflict. But this was all less frightening to him than what had just come to him. He had found in his pocket a note, telling him only a time and a place. Those who had been trying to kill him wanted to meet. As Grim made his way to the meeting place, he devised in his mind a plan. He took a detour on his way, looking for one person in particular. Finding him in a street, Grim grabbed Aodan's arm and, before the other scholar/monk could breathe a word, he dragged him into an alleyway and let out the words: "My life to yours. My Breath become yours." Grim gasped, the life being sucked out of him and into the other man. It was the first time he had ever been Drab. In what he deemed his final hours, he had no better choice. What little Breath he had needed to go to the cause. Whether he lived to see the end or not, the Pahn Kahl could not win. Grim owed this to Paxen. Peace had been all the man had wanted. And now he was dead, almost certainly at the hands of the Pahn Kahl. Before Aodan could say anything to him, Grim made his way out of the alley, leaving the other man slumped on the dirty ground. As he turned, Grim heard but a single word. "Why?" ~~~~~~~~~~ Half a bell later, Grim found himself facing two men. He stood with his back against the back wall of an alley, his face and body dripping with blood. He had made his way to the determined meeting place and quickly been attacked by five men and one woman, one of the men the one he had left alive what seemed years ago. Using his knives, he had been able to take out three of the men and the woman. He had no doubt he could have gotten them all if he hadn't given up his Breath, but the lack of them made life seem less...vibrant. His reflexes were less than they had been in years. One of the remaining two had stabbed Grim in the arm, the other punched him in his face, knocking out several teeth. Grim had managed to run for a few blocks, but had found himself stuck as he was now. One man launched himself at him, but Grim was able to fight him off, slitting open the man's throat. He kicked the man in the gut. One more to go... he thought, weakly. He had lost a lot of blood. He had but a few minutes left. The last man cackled. "Finally, Gigimin, we have you." With that, he jumped. Grim felt a shock. That name... He hadn't heard it in years. The man punched Grim. Grim's head hit the wall with a jerk, and he fell down. Just as this happened, another person jumped down from the roof and attacked Grim's assailant. Within seconds, the man from the roof had killed the other. But Grim could hold on no longer. He heard the man--no, it was a woman-- from the roof trying to talk to him, but he could not make the words out. He was drifting, consciousness fading rapidly. A few thoughts remained, however. Gigimin. Those who had been trying to kill him knew of his past self. Oh, how long it has been since last I heard that name... As the woman tried to remove him from his stupor, Grim caught movement out of the corner of his eye. His vision was fuzzy, but... Was that a rabbit? I'm so sorry, Paxen. His last thought. Consciousness ended. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Grim's body went limp in her arms. No, no! she thought, angry. Vivenna didn't know why Vasher had wanted her to protect this man, but it had seemed pretty important to the grumpy old man. Important enough to send her away from the conflict in Huth and Kuth. She checked the body. Wait... That was a pulse! The man was alive. Quickly, Vivenna bound the man's wound with his shirt. That should stop the blood flow. There was little she could do about the bang to his head, however. Her thoughts turned to her sister. Sorry, Siri. It seems things are getting pretty bad here. But I have other issues to return to. The Pahn Kahl, returned. This was no good. However, Vasher had instructed to return to him as soon as her job was complete. Vivenna covered Grim up and dragged him out of the alley, leaving him in the street. There was nothing more she could do for him. ~~~~~~~~ Well, everyone, that's it. I'm off. To make it clear, Grim is not dead, but comatose. I have left it so you can discover him. Do of me what you will. You can still kill me if you wish to. If you decide not to, then Grim will wake up and assume his position upon my return. And I did give my Breath to Aodan, just to make it clear. I hope no one else intended to introduce Vivenna during the game. If so, sorry. You can ignore it being her that saved Grim if you wish to. With that, goodbye, all! If you kill me off, that's ok. It's been fun. I may check in every now and then just to see. (I won't be able to go a whole week without finding out what happened to Grim.)

Actually, some Shardblades (you know which) are capable of having their own morality.

I wouldn't go so far as to say he is the "opposite" of Brandon in "many" ways. The only one I can really think of at this time is that Rothfuss is much more of a gardener while Brandon is an architect (to use George RR Martin's terminology). Both have very detailed worlds. (Rothfuss's is, IMHO, more detailed than any of Brandon's except Roshar; we just have yet to explore it as thoroughly.) Both have magic systems that make sense when applied to real-world physics (once again, we just haven't really gotten to push their limits like we have Brandon's.) Both have very strong characters and character development. Both choose their words very carefully. Overall, I would say that they are not as different as one may think.

Actually, Sphinx has posted multiple times in this very thread, so if that is your only reason to vote for Sifa, then you should probably retract your vote.
