    “You got the flying and rooftop chase part down, but you need to work on your answering questions bit. Look, I’ll start. I’m Eden, I spend my time keeping up with university and playing guitar. Now you go.”

    “Yes.” —— —— “Oh shoot-“ Eden said. “It’s an underground daycare. Are these kids all orphans or sumthing?”

    Eden looked at Bacon. “Well, that went well. Your cue?” @xinoehp512

    “Uh, okay, lemme just head on down to your city and kidnap a random kid, that’s alright then,” she said sarcastically. “Listen, you’re not with the raiders, I’m not with anyone but him-“ she jerked a finger at Bacon- “Cause he’s cool as far as I can tell. So if you’re not with the raiders, then we can stop getting all aggressive. Save it for the stage. I just wanna make sure you ain’t about to hurt the kid, m’kay? You got wings, the wizard or minstrel or whoever Lute Solo is has got magic, surely we can return the little guy to his family, huh?”

    “Good, good, you didn’t stab anyone yet. Well, the status quo right now is you, with the swords, and me, with the attitude. So we can be friends and you don’t have to stab anyone. Not sure why you ran off with that poor kid, though. Mind explaining that one?” She edged forward, hands held up empty. @Through The Living Glass

    Eden eyed Bacon, handing him the knife. “Wait a second, Lute Solo, don’t go anywhere. Hold this for me, you’re my backup.” She approached the bird woman, hands held up. “Look, I don’t wanna fight. I’m more musician than murderer. But you gotta let the kid go, okay? I don’t know what you all are doing here, swooping in an’ stabbing people, but it’s not cool.”

    Eden, glancing up and seeing Bacon’s absence, then hearing him from down below, shrugged. “Tell me, where does a girl get magic like that? No eldritch Sleep gods, I presume?” She emerged in the newly lit basement. It smelled, unsurprisingly, like bacon. “Okay, bird lady. What’s your deal? Kidnapping kids isn’t nice.” @Through The Living Glass —— “It’s a joke. I’m nervous, that’s all,” Inkwell admitted. From what he knew about Omen’s trials, things like Light or the Arcadian Pen wouldn’t be of much use. @NameIess

    “Nice trick,” she responded, a little confused. She peered into the basement. “What a cliche.” She straightened her jacket and descended. “You coming?”, she asked, glancing up at Bacon. @xinoehp512

    For the first time since middle school, Eden is forced to confront the fact that yelling at her problems isn’t always the solution. “I don’t know if that would help, but if its any consolation, I would eat that sandwich.”

    Eden cursed softly as the shard cut the fleeing figure instead of knocking her over. That wasn’t exactly well thought out anyhow. Eden stopped to catch her breath as a minstrel-looking person appeared in a flash. “Hey there, Lute Solo. You look magic, can you stop the bird person from kidnapping that kid?” She pointed at the winged person. @xinoehp512

    The name Valor gives us just as much insight into the Shard’s intent as Honor does. A traitor or cheater could likely still be approved by Valor. Wind and Truth spoilers: A Shard’s Intent doesn’t necessarily have to align with the human definition of their name. Which is annoying.

    Heavy boots stomped right through the ceramic. Eden picked up a heavy, blunt shard and threw it, aiming for the figure’s legs.

    Good. The streets. Eden leap down and sped up, her feet on solid ground. She started to catch the figure. “I just want the kid safe. Let’er go!”

    Wait, so that means Doc was a sneaky envoyform? To give the town some credit, that is quite a bit of power.

    Eden steeled herself. “Just like the first gig. All you gotta do is cross the curtain.” She took a deep breath, then jumped awkwardly across, landing with one knee up on the other side. “Wasn’t so bad?”, she panted, then looked up. She was losing the kid! She got up and started running, barely keeping her balance.

    “Hey- where are you going!?”, Eden shouted, pocketing the knife and crossing the rooftop after her. She stumbled, then righted herself.

    “I am not a cal- what?” She said, suddenly noticing a lack of murdering or atrocities coming from this one. Some calm and rational voice in her head processed and responded to the comment. It’s not a flying monkey. Childhood trauma shouldn’t make you prejudiced. She ignored the rational voice in her head. “I am NOT going to calm down. I calm down by playing loud, angry music. Instead, I am stuck on a roof while you and your friends come and stab people. Why would I be calm?” She followed, shakily.

    “Let- Her- Go!”, Eden grunted, landing on the loosely tiled roof and struggling to get a footing. Clay tiles shattered on the ground below. She suddenly realized she was afraid of heights.

    “Oh, no you don’t.” Eden grabbed her by the ankle, surely she couldn’t lift twice her weight- and was yanked into the air, cursing, but keeping her grip on the knife.

    Eden pushed back her confusion for another moment, she didn’t need it now. She couldn’t get backed into a corner playing defense from a disadvantage, but charging into a fight she didn’t need would get her killed. So she stared back, holding its gaze until a soldier snapped off a sling and bashed the creatures rib cage in with lead shot.

    A common trick of the skilled elim team is to take out the players that are voices of ration and reason, and substitute themselves. doc did that PERFECTLY
