Yeah, I knew that part, but what about the extra "-lsium" (though the "ium" may not count)

The musings of Frustration Part 1: Vyre's Eyes
Usseewa replied to Frustration's topic in Cosmere Discussion
What about that whole "it's all one!! Metal, souls, mist (?)!!" Idk, you're probably correct. -
So, I was gonna post this in the SA forum, but decided it might make a neat forum game (that hopefully doesn't already exist). Basically, you just mistakes or "funny" things you've made/done (see my examples) and see if others have done it or something (idk if this is even a good forum game lol) So we don't run out (as quickly), you can say stuff from the Real World (the Cosmere), as well as the "real world" ("Earth") Examples: Who else... ...pictured spheres in SA as bigger, then found out they are essentially marbles. ...pronounced "Jasnah" as "Jasnah" (jaz-nuh, rather than the "correct" yaz-nuh) ...pronounced "Jah Keved" as "Jah Keved" (jah-keved, rather than the "correct" yah-keved). Or even - like me - "jah-kev-ahd" ...skipped over the mess that is "Aharietiam" Did this: *finishes BrandySandy book* Mmmm... what to read next... *picks up Wheel of Time.* *Reads a few sentences.* *Puts down.* (Repeat for a few other books.) *Picks up and reads Yumi (or other Sanderson book) instead.* Hopefully this draws some joyspren. Edit: you can basically just say anything that sounds correct in a "Who else [...]?" sentence

The musings of Frustration Part 1: Vyre's Eyes

Nice If it's Hemalurgy, didn't Marsh's spikes let him see Investiture? So it could be straight-up 'lurgy. -
The musings of Frustration Part 1: Vyre's Eyes
Usseewa replied to Frustration's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Was this [the thread title] intended to be a pun on "musings of El on the First of the Final Ten Days"? (I assume not, but who knows) -
So, someone(s) figured out that Adonalsium is an anagram for "A mind, a soul." Someone may have already said this, but doesn't it make sense for it to be "a mind, a soul, a body"? Think about it. The three Realms. Mind = Cognitive, Soul = Spiritual, Body = Physical. Maybe the Body is the Godmetal? What would the word become if you add "a body" to Adonalsium? Or perhaps just make a second word that is an anagram for "a body." Or, it was just a coincidence and is about as notable as rain in a Highstorm.

So, spren are Splinters of Honor (I think). Honor (and all Shards) are Splinters of Ol' Ado. Could Ado be a Splinter of a wooden spear shaft something Greater? Maybe...something (b/B)eyond the Cosmere?

Unite...the Shards to fight against Retribution? Or...Unite the Shards back into Adonalsium. Or..."them" could be either for someone who goes by they/them, or like with that Mistborn Era 1 "Hero of Ages" prophecy where the gender is unknown. Or...what about the "Unity" Dawnshard?

Did MB2 Give Away the Ending to Wind and Truth?
Usseewa replied to Usseewa's topic in Cosmere Discussion
This link leads to this current thread, not the essay. Yeah, I saw that a few months back. I do, thank you. I'll check those out. Thanks for the advice!- 9 replies

Wheel of Time? I have the first one, but haven't started it yet. As for Strength of Few, isn't that #2 of Will of Many? I have the latter, but again, haven't started it yet (I have a whole shelf where the same is true). Are they good (or, the first books in the series)? The leatherbounds looked really cool.

How did Odium get the Heavenly Ones ("flying" surge)? Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't that be Honor's? (I'll admit I don't know much about the mechanics of the Fused, like what you mention.)

Did MB2 Give Away the Ending to Wind and Truth?
Usseewa replied to Usseewa's topic in Cosmere Discussion
More SPAG for you I took a quick look, and you mentioned the Elantris Deleted Scene. I saw it in my copy of the book, and ended up skipping it. Would you recommend reading it? Is it necessary? Edit: also, White Sand. I got the prose draft from the newsletter, but only read a chapter or two (after what was already in AU). Would you recommend reading White Sand? I don't have the graphic novel versions, but I could probably get them (though they seem harder to find). I was going to wait for the new prose novel, but that may be a wait. That sounds really useful. Would I need to purchase the e-books as well (I assume so)?- 9 replies

Do you mean that the "freeing" was after SA10/in MB4? I was thinking more along the lines of Bleeder/single-spiked Kandra, although (spoilers for SoS I think): Yeah, that makes sense. Would they be a rogue Kandra though? Or does "not Harmony's agent" just mean it was in Era 1 (like you said)?

Just F.Y.I., both of your quotes still have the info that the OP removed, so you may want to edit it out.

Did MB2 Give Away the Ending to Wind and Truth?
Usseewa replied to Usseewa's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Yeah, seems like it. I think that was the quote, thank you. What do you use to find words in the books? Was it you or someone else who mentioned "calibre"? Personally, I just use Google Books, since I own the physical books, not e-books.- 9 replies

We don't have a ton of information about Highspren (or other types of Radiant spren). What interests me is the whole "rift in reality" aspect of the Highspren (I've made some posts related to this already). It really seems like Highspren actually show a window into somewhere else in space (whether within the cosmere or outside it). Here is some information: I couldn't find any relevant WoBs using this query: https://wob.coppermind.net/adv_search/?query=highspren The Wiki mostly repeats information found in the books (which is expected, and actually helpful for location said info). The Highspren show a view of “unfamiliar stars” that is stationary as they move, like a “moving window onto an alternate reality” (Rhythm of War I-7, p. 830). Kaladin remarks that the stars “stay stationary [when the highspren moves]—as if [the highspren] were a portal” (Wind and Truth Ch. 86, p. 853). They are different from other types of Radiant spren (with the Oaths/Bonds). Shallan sketched them: I wonder if--since she has a "photographic memory"--the stars sketched would actually be accurate. If so, we might be able to use that to find out more about what the Highspren are showing (if anything), and where. See my beginnings to a 3D model of the Cosmere's stars: Here is a post I found relating to Highspren "windows": Some thoughts on Highspren and their windows/portals: They seem different than other types of Radiant spren (although you could say the same about Cryptics. Maybe they are all just "unique" to each other?) Do they have a "body" somewhere? Do they show another place or another time? Or both? Neither? Maybe they show a "zoomed out" view of the universe/galaxy that the Cosmere is in, so that all the normally recognizable details (such as Taln's scar) would be too miniscule to be visible, and what they would be viewing through a Highspren would be galaxies or star clusters. What's with the Physical realm form? Do they all show the same view? If two Highspren stood side-by-side, would their windows "fit together"? Or, if one Highspren stood somewhere, moved away, then another came and stood exactly where the first was, would the second's star view look the same? What does everyone think?

The wiki has only one line: I believe he is only in one paragraph (in WaT ch. 63, pp. 625-6 in the hardcover book): (Quote modified for context) What stands out to me is the name. It could simply not mean anything, but (gamma radiation and stuff like that). Also, they are talking about "the changing world," and if Gamma is from, say, Scadrial, they would've had change already. Do you think his name has any significance?

Does 17S have a dark mode? I'm not sure if I would use it (though I use it for almost everything else), but just curious.

If someone could find the exact quote, that would be appreciated. It may not have even been in Wax & Wayne, but one of the Secret Projects. But it was something along the lines of "travel to Roshar is too dangerous" or "travel to Roshar is...not ideal" or "with all that's going on on Roshar at the moment, ..." I think it was in TLM, but I could be mistaken. I just remember taking note of it while reading, and I think I wondered if that meant that Odium won the Contest of Champions. Then, I read Wind and Truth, and yeah. I also was using timelines I found online (which I now believe are NOT fully accurate, specifically with the SPs, since unless my "math" is wrong, the following one is saying that Sunlit took place like 5,000 years after Stormlight, which, while I was reading Sunlit, did not make sense at all) If this timeline was posted after WaT, the "giveaway" may be less, but anyway: I saw ~10 year gap between SA and MB2, and when I saw the aforementioned "quotes," I wondered why that was (WaT spoilers: it now makes sense with the time dilation and Retribution winning/"winning") But, point is, did anyone else catch this? Can someone find the quote? Did this actually give away or hint at the ending?
