  1. Do we know if atium even still exists? The only reference to it in the text of Alloy of Law was from Miles (who knew alot) and he referred to it as "the lost metal". Maybe this dudes burning
  2. I think it's unlikely anything will be "100% Adonalsium" since Adonalsium isn't even 100% Adonalsium anymore.
  3. cremhole Spren?
  4. I'm about 33% thru Lexicon by Max Barry and so far it's really great. Very kinetic story telling style that keeps you reading hard. Really cool world and concept. I'll update when I finish. Edit: Update. It was great. It had a very Sandersonian feel to it, it involves a secret society of people who are able to use language and how it effects the brain to override people brain functions and essentially mind control them. Really really cool book. There's some graphic sexy times spread throughout and naughty language FYI.
  5. This could help explain why the Shin find stone so sacred. it could also relate to the absence of spren in Shinovar.
  6. Lol Balloonomancy! Side effect, packing alot of dudes into a tiny carriage. All tumble before the Lord Jogler!
  7. What if Good ol' got Gaz. He did seem to be close to seeing spren out of his non eye. I think he inhabits all of the traits of a budding KR. Better to nip him in the Bud before he blossoms into the leader of men he was destined to be. I realize it would be insane for Gaz to be worthy of his notice without Kaladin being of equal or more interest , but I'm just spit balling here... Seeing what sticks.
  8. This series is good. I remember it being very visceral and energetic with interesting mythology. Only two books in but I already think the Lightbringer series is way better.
  9. Tigana is crazy gud.
  10. Slowswift in Fadrex City smoked a pipe. Brandon mentioned he envisioned him as Tolkein.
  11. I think if he refrained from using stormlight for long enough the tattoo would stick. It's not like spotlight its getting rid if his slave brand scar. His body knows the ink it's foreign so it heals.. Forcing out the ink. If he let it sit for a week without using stormlight it would stay I bet.
  12. You sneaky, shadow-hamed so-and-so. I think That Haliax/Larne/Alaxel IS Iax. I think behind the Doors of Stone are locked all of Farie, with the door in tact they stay separate with the changes in the moon regulating the gateways between. With the doors unlocked the Four Corners and Fae will become entwined to a dangerous degree, thus the spookies leaking into the frame story. This is the explanation that for me translates the "Iax locked away the name of the moon" story into real world consequences the best. The house he makes with weird edges if the land of the Fae. who knows tho, I wonder how much of the behind the scenes story will be overtly explained in the final book. We could very well get to the end and still be quite fuzzy on the particulars of what was really happening.
  13. It's also worth noting that the Herald in the chapter heading was Chach, divine attributes Bravery and obedience. She represents both spots, she didn't occupy both spots in any chapter in WoK. She's associated with the number 3.
  14. This may be Necro Posting but I think it should go here. I am listening to the Audiobook of Well of Ascension for the first time and at the beginning of Chapter 41 Tindwyl says "Assuming that Alendi is that Author's book" , when in my ebook the grammar is corrected to "book's author" does anyone know if this is a typo from the original hardcover or just a Michael Kramer flub . It's surprising there aren't more audiobook flubs considering they probably read an entire huge novel over the course of a few days, MK is a real pro!
  15. I really loved it. I'd starting leaving Lynch off my list of current top notch epic fantasy authors (GRRM, BS, Pat Rothfuss, PV Brett, Brent Weeks and maybe Brian Mclellan and Saladin Ahmed if their second books shape up). But he's back on the list Baby!
  16. I've read recently that the orders in the KR table were stylized to represent swords (WoB), this lead others to theorize the orders on the Voidbinding Stained glass to represent animals. Well if that's the case and the Santhid was significant enough to be one of the Shallan sketches for WoR why wouldn't one of the orders be a stylized Santhid? Here's my guess. The rounded seeming shell at the top, the flowing bottom and an "eye in the center top seems to line up pretty good. If anyone thinks it could be anything else or maybe that any other Voidbinding orders represent any other unique Rosharian Fauna let's hear it. I haven't included an actual Santhid pic for obvious reason but also notice the super cool design in the Iris.
  17. Do you think when WoR comes out you will be able to avoid the Ars Arcanum until you've finished the book? In the Mistborn trilogy the Arcanum information became more and more enlightening to the point of being spoilery in HoA. I have a feeling the specificity of information, especially the table concerning the heralds, gemstones and focus essences will step it up a notch probably confirming speculation on which orders are associated and giving proper names for surges. I'd like to think I'll read thru without looking ahead but who am I kidding? I'm going to peek forward and see what's happening.
  18. I think Szeth's Oathstone is his father's kidney stone. One he died passing after Szeth irresponsibly allowed him to drink too many high acid, high sugar drinks. Szeth took up a blade to save his life by "cutting him for the stone" and was made truthless when the elders caught him in the process.
  19. What are the chances that the only thing she asked of The Nightwatcher was "I want to be awesome" ?
  20. I'm loving reading this thread. I thought there was a chance this could be a powder keg when I opened it up. Mods did a great job keeping it on topic early on. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Vorinism in WoK it seems to have been obviously corrupted over the years or at the very least heavily changed (the sunmaker). I think they will be a force if opposition against the return if the KR and I'm looking forward to see how BS handles it.
  21. The Dagger and the Coin series by Daniel Abraham has great audiobooks. It starts with The Dragon's Path , really good character work and narration by Pete Bradbury. He also does the Demon Cycle books, he's one of my favorites.
  22. Don't let us stop you. Go Ahead!
  23. Has anyone else ever noticed that The symbol for Kaladin with the crescent and the spears looks like a horizontally transposed Allomantic Bronze symbol? Do you think he's going to snap soon? I mean he's been thru SOME bad stuff but I think he's due for a little more punishment. (Note this is totally facetious and I'm kidding) I've thought this since the first time I read the book so I'm a little surprised it's never come up here before.
